I just removed the engine to do this job to my Icebear Little Monster. My spacer weld didn't break, the actual frame that's welded to the spacer broke so my frame looks like "C" instead of "O". Then I later swapped on a 1 down 3 up motor and forgot to drill that motor before the install so I had to drop it again and drill it. My upgraded lower actually snapped within the past week and I noticed today so I just swapped that and I actually just finished modding up a bolt in cradle mount that I'm hoping kills some of the vibrations too.

Seems to me you can buy a Honda and ride it, or you can buy a clone and repair it. lifes too short. im going Honda.

Enjoy your $5k plus bike. For that price, I’m going to spend half on my grom clone and know how to fix anything that goes wrong with it.

@@user-uc5tj6ux8w good point. Honda does not give them away and any motorcycle requires tons of maintenance

i have a vader 125 , with a built yx141cc, ive got less than 3k in my bike, its gorgeous, i have about 3k miles on it since the engine build, its never left me stranded, and wwith my 18 / 34 sprockets it tops out , redlining 4th gear at 67-68 mph, im confident i can go to a 32 tooth on the back and get 70 out of it. my buddy just bought a grom, spent almost 5k out the door, and he has to spend almost another 2k on it, before it can even think about keeping up with my bike, hes not a gear head tho, so he would also need to pay a mechanic to do the mods. he traded it in lol, as he didnt want to have near 10k in it , just so he could hang with my vader i have 3k in. a part of the fun ( for me) , is having a cheap bike i work on and mod, and has more aftermarket than almost any bike i know next to harlies . not to mention almost 90% of the parts for the grom are a direct fit on the clone, so as i go i can get honda grade parts for it as i need ( like a set of adjustable grom front forks for example ) . im about to do a 212cc daytona 4 valve swap, should get me about 24hp on the back tire at sea level with a little tuning, ill have about 5k in the bike afterwords , and it will flat embarrass a grom, even a modded grom at a stoplight , im pretty sure it will even show its tail lights to some 250s lol. in the end, i have a bike that is built , not bought. i understand not everyone is like me, and if u just want a nice 125 to cruise around on, and dont have any mechanical ability at all , and you dont enjoy working on your own bike , then go buy a new grom , its absolutely the better bike out of the box. however if you want a grom with about 24hp at the rear wheel, your going to spend about 10k bucks , maybe more factoring in ecu and dyno tuning it , plus labor fees etc for the stuff you cant do. i love my clone tho , and for the 3k i have in it currently , its been the best 3k ive ever spent on a bike ive had so much fun with.

@@benhager2559 Thank you, maybe watching videos that only showed vader having issues gave me the wrong idea. let me ask this, if I could buy a used Honda for the same money as the vader.. what would you do? obviously condition of the used bike would play into that. I do appreciate the help. new rider here.

@@Artoconnell used grom for $3k is what I'd pay for one. But where I live, used go for $4k all day.
