Thanks for the content. This was my favorite ship in tie fighter. There was a reload glitch that let you exploit unlimited ammo after docking to reload. Just fly away after the process starts and find some juicy rebel capital ships and let the warheads fly. That'll teach those rebel scum.
Best craft ever on TIE Fighter game! Just a note on the technical description where there is a mistake: launchers total capacity is: 80 missiles/adv missiles or 60 proton torpedoes/adv torpedoes or 40 heavy rockets or 20 space bombs. I think that is just a confusion between missiles and torpedoes ;). Nice craft description anyway :)
The TIE Fighter game is brilliantly designed to continuously increase the complexity of the craft you're meant to pilot and has great training missions to familiarize you with all of them. So, even though the Missile Boat is extremely difficult to fly due to its multitude of onboard systems, you have gradually become accustomed to most of them and adding a tractor beam and SLAM drive at that point still doesn't really feel overwhelming. It's not the most powerful fighter in the fleet by itself, but it does become the most powerful fighter when combined with an expert pilot.
the Missile Boat can also carry Tractor Beam or other special weaponry, even a signal Jammer ... picture this combo: Tractor Beam/Signal Jammer + Mag Pulse Missiles + Torpedoes + so much shields and agility no rebel fighter can match yours ... even the medium laser cannon becomes useful here!
I wonder where the recalled Missile Boats wound up? Given that he saw Byss as his capital world, it's likely they went there to be put back into use at a later date, but were all destroyed with the planet. Imagine the hell these could have unleashed in Thrawn's hands during the trilogy of his.

I love those flight sim games! I spent quite a few hours with x-wing alliance especially.

I played Tie Fighter a really long time ago and this was my favorite ship because of the huge number of missiles available
