3:40. Poor Revzilla. This is such a detailed and precise motorcycle review. Being an American, I can say that the American motorcycle channels have no idea how to conduct a motorcycle review. Motorcycle reviews are more than just reading off a spec sheet, doing race track testing, and showing some test footage. Thank you so much for addressing all of the finite details that a daily rider would want to know about.
Bought the V2S in December 2021. It was one of the first purchased in Dallas. Just hit 600 miles and loving this bike. The stock sound of this bike is awesome. More power than you really need in the real world. I am surprised it is not the best selling Multistrada. A huge thanks to the guys at AMS Ducati in Dallas, Texas.
My 2015 BMW R1200R LC weighs 231kg wet, all the electronics and quick shifter blipper stuff, low enough to feel normal, comfortable for hundreds of miles a day, shaft drive for maintenance free transmission, puts out a lot more torque and power, great build quality and can be bought for thousands less. Clip on panniers for a no buffeting tourer. This is why I’m struggling to swap it even though I’ve owned it since new and want a change. The stats and rider experience is bloody hard to beat.
I had a 2016 version of yours, white tank red frame. Stunning stunning bike, overlooked by everyone. The quick shifter just made you laugh every time you rode it fantastic. But at 6’3” my legs were just a little too cramped. Cramped enough to be annoying over an hour’s journey. So what to do - oh yes biking stupidity! I chopped it in for an 18 month old R1250GS Ralleye TE - only £10,000 extra for 11hp more and unbelievable step up in comfort. So yes what a fool I am and I’m easily parted from my money. But those GS’s are at the top of the sales chart for a bloody good reason. Enjoy the 1200R and don’t sell it….
I agree, I've got one and it's great. Bit of buffeting off the screen, LCD display is hard to read, the only faults I can think of. It's an amazing all round bike.
I purchased a used 2020 S model and have been very happy with it. Some things I would pass on to potential buyers: 1. If you are coming from an old 1200 or V4 powered bike the 950 will feel pretty bland in comparison. 2. The rear muffler does very little in terms of making the engine quiet. Most of that is done by the exhaust collector under the bike. If you have it replaced with a link pipe you will make the bike much loader. Too loud in my opinion. Disabling the exhaust valve is a good compromise between the two and will also make the throttle snappier as the exhaust valve opens very slow when applying full throttle. 3. Adding on factory electronic options like heated grips or fog lights requires the dealer to connect to the bikes ECU and activate them after installation, even if you install them yourself to save money. 4. Fuel range is about 220 miles. I would have preferred more. 5. I have had two instances where the bike did not start on the first attempt. This is pretty normal and has to do with lean fueling to meet emissions. BT-moto offers a tune for it that is suppose to solve this problem and also add power to the engine. I have not personally had this done. 6. The side pods are pretty decent but smaller then the 1200 or V4 models. If storage is an issue you may want to purchase the top case for it (Ducati wants about $1000 for it. Ouch!) I have chosen to pack lighter on my trips. I have had side pods get stuck on the bike multiple times and they have to be jiggled off. Very annoying. 7. I took this bike to the track once and it did fantastic. The 950 is surprisingly sporty with the side pods removed. 8. Ducati has had an issue with fuel level sensors in their bikes and my 950S was no exception. $180 from Ducati and can be self installed if you're comfortable with taking the tank off. 9. I had issues with the quick shifter and getting into neutral when I first got it. After taking it to the track and doing some hard riding the shifter works way better. If you are having trouble with yours get the engine hot and do some high RPM shifting with it to get it to break in. 10. There is no room to mount things on the handlebars without hitting the dash when at full lock. Evo tech sells an excellent mounting system above the dash that solves this problem. Overall I love this bike. Its a great all rounder that is comfortable and very sporty when you want it to be. Its does a little bit of everything really well and I would recommend it to someone who isn't wanting to spend the extra money on a big heavy V4.
Wind turbulence is surely one big negative point in whole range of 1200/1260/950/V2. But, there are two widely known solutions: 1) - Pikes Peak carbon windshield. I went that way myself. 2) different spacers for stock windshield to set it 3-4 cm away from rider. My friend went this way. Both ways are OK. No reason to skip purchase of such a good bike. Enjoy it.
I'm looking to replace my 959 Panigale - I'm getting too old to be sat atop that thing. It's pretty much down to the V2S or Monster+. Thanks to Michael's review, I'm swaying towards the V2S. I really do enjoy Michael's reviews. No nonsense. No unnecessary superlatives. Bit like Ronseal.
@@Cliffracer46 Hey there! I haven't sold it yet - planning to put it on the market this spring. I've decided to take a break from biking for now, at least. Maybe later in life, I'll pick up a Bonnie or something similar. The hassle of getting in and out of the gear and dealing with the weather has just worn me down. I've lost interest, surprisingly, even to myself! Shocking, I know :)
@@dom9882 that is a very wise choice. I’m swapping because the 959 is so harsh for longer trips and I need a real passenger seat 🤣 A bonnie is very cool looking btw
Wind buffeting was horrendous on my 950S. Fixed with one of those adjustable wings. Can now ride motorway speeds with visor up! You do have to try the wing at lots of different angles, even small adjustments make a huge difference!
Literally try it at every height and angle. I have mine as high as it will go, and a little more upright than the screen itself. But I have seen people with them almost flat!
Same here fro my 2014 1200GT. The wing makes it a great tourer with the tall ducati touring screen. The cheap ebay unit did the trick. Just make sure you get the proper size. They have more size and tint varieties than in the past. I am on my second Multi and have used the wing on both bikes.
Another superb review by Neevesy, who is, in my opinion, the best motorcycle tester and journalist out there. A very objective, unbiased and factual summay of the V2S, which anyone in the market for this bike, could safely rely upon.
To kick of the discussion... I'm not really convinced the 950/V2 is the overall better bike compared to the 1200/V4. I've tested both 950 and 1200 with my girlfriend. Both were S model with electronic suspension. For solo riding; the smaller cc model makes total sense. However, for riding two up; we both preferred the 1200. As a rider; it's easier at low speeds because the engine has more torque (think dense traffic or hairpin turns). As passenger; my girlfriend found it more comfortable because it vibrates less. Dealer says this mostly because of the variable valve stuff on the 1200. Anyway; we ended up buying the 1200 even though it was more expensive. For those of you who are interested in passenger comfort: We have tested the following bikes before buying: (Comments are just what we remembered from the test rides, personal preference) KTM 1190: super mega awesome; but engine gets too hot for me to be comfortable. BMW 1200GS and RS : best overall comfort + good engine for relaxed riding S1000XR: a lot of engine vibrations + i found it to be really mellow in the low revs Honda AT: great comfort; but suspension and engine to mellow for a sports bike guy like me + stock windscreen is super noisy Tracer 900: super fun bike + really affordable; but not refined enough and a little small (physically) for long passenger rides. For solo riding this would have been my pick. Multistrada 950 and 1200: Not as comfy as the BMW's and Honda; but still really good comfort. Much more sporty feeling + it's more sexy because it speaks italian ;-)
1200 is not a V 4 it’s a 1260 V4. I have a V4S and a 1250 GSA. V4S is more power and sport and the GSA is more old school cool and more off road. I enjoy both bikes for the difference they both perform. Love them both
@@chriscatron2978 the MTS V4 is neither 1200 nor 1260. It's just called the MTS V4. The actual engine displacement is about 1158cc. Love both bikes also.
I live in Thailand, bikes here are expensive, especially Ducatis. I fancy the MTS V4 over the R1250GS but the retail price of the full option V4S and full option GS Rallye with HP style is $39,500 vs $25,000 USD. I had to pick the BMW. I am not fully convinced about the GS comfort, it is the herd mentality talking. Both are comfortable for long trips. For my taste the GS boxer engine vibrates too much (left & right) all the way from chassis to the handle bar for a bike that is regarded the king of comfort. Also it doesn't sound nice comparatively. For these 2 points alone any parallel twin or v2, and the V4S, win over the boxer twin. Back in 2016 I test rode a MTS 1200 Enduro for a day. It's power delivery was smooth like butter, and it's engine vibration did not get so enhanced at the handle bar. But I was riding a HD soft tail so it was not a back to back comparo. Anyways, if not due to the big price diff I would have chose the MTS V4S over the GS. I am also waiting for an used MTS V4S down the road.
Bike journo's "this is the best bike ever, it's amazingly awesome", 10 minutes later, also bike journo's " I know I said that was the best bike ever, but trust me, it's not, this one however is the best bike ever, it's amazingly awesome" ...
Rode my 2017 950 to Ducati Cardiff yesterday and took out the V2s for a test ride. To me,their very nearly two different bikes. Love my Ducati and sad to part with her but the new version suits my riding style and distances far better. The 2017 is possibly better for long hauls as that wee bit more weight and softer seating make for a very stable ride. Thanks for the review and lightening my bank account👍🏻🤣
I don't get the 19" on this... >95% of the people riding them have no off-road aspirations past a gravel road to a tourist look-out spot somewhere on their trip. 17" would be perfect imho
Got a Yamaha Tracer GT 2018 and love it. Only downside to it is the noisy screen on the motorway but can fix that with a new screen or some ear phones.
I love Neevesy but I got to say . I have got a 950S which I love, the induction bark is addictive and a great all rounder. But I had a V4S for a couple of days while mine was being serviced and omg it's a different league! I'm just over 6ft and it seemed to fit me better it felt stiffer but coped with potholes and bumps well. It felt more like a muscle bike but didn't intimidate me at all 170hp sounds crazy ! but it makes this bike far more exciting for me. Front wheel lifting over crests in 4th gear just mega. If you are taller , money is no object , you don't mind an extra fuel stop then ride the V4S ! I got back on my 950S and it felt like a children's toy !!
I purchased a lightly used 950s in September, I’ve put 5000 miles on it since then, it’s utterly addictive, the skyhook suspension is a revelation, good to see Ducati didn’t mess with it too much 👌 Great review 👏👏
@@lewiswithrow1936 Not at all, no matter the weather. I mean, on hot they in traffic you may feel hotter in general, like on any ohter bike, but its not "panigale" hot, the rear cylinder seems to have proper insulation to nut burn your ass. I triend friends Yamaha FJR 1300, and that thing is a oven in comparison.
As a new V4s owner coming from a Diavel 1260s and I am 6 feet tall I can say there are some hard comparisons between the V2S & V4S. May be subjective but the first day I rode back home from the dealer I had typical Pacific Northwest down pouring rain with a lot of wind and I had absolutely no buffering, this thing did outstanding in crappy conditions. However I’ve never owned a bike with a windshield or one that prevented wind buffeting so I’m used to the winds buffeting quite harshly & at times it was brutal but you get used to it, the V4S is great for taller riders & the gas range is great for me! Easy To handle at slow speeds & super nimble, the V2S seat felt cramped & it pushed me forwards. I’m thrilled I went with the V4S, no regrets, makes me appreciate the technology, design & comforts so much more than someone who is used to sports touring bikes. Different bikes for different people just enjoy whatever you can afford or whatever fits your needs
Potentially going to change to the V2 from a Tiger Sport 1050. There's nothing in the triumph camp that excites me atm, I don't want a 1200 so I think the V2 would be a good solution. Can't knock the TS 1050, been brilliant, done everything I asked of it, comfy, economical, so hopefully I won't be disappointed!
Fuel economy on the 950 is amazing. I’ve averaged 3.8l/100km regularly no matter what riding I do. The V4 chews the fuel and range is not great. Range isn’t really an issue on the 950.
Thank you for this video I agree with your conclusion. I think the Multistrada V2S offers a better compromise compared to the V4S. The V4S is a great bike with a fabulous engine. But it is impossible to ride it on our roads without risking losing your license. It is impossible to ride at 80 km/h in 6th gear despite the V4's relief. Its consumption is excessive, the owners indicate us +7 l/100 km while driving light whereas the V2S is satisfied with 4l/100 km. That's quite a difference in range. I didn't like the sound of the V4S, I prefer the V2S. The radar is really magic but it is not essential in my eyes. In summary, I think that the V2S offers as much fun as the V4S.
I have the v4s and had all the big multi's... For me the only aspect where the 1260/1200 is better was in the accuracy on hard pushing where the 17 inch give me more feedback. For all the other aspect the v4s is better indeed
Bought a V2S last year. Only con is the loss of oomph probably due to the Euro 5 mapping and burn. I had a Hyperstrada 2016 before and it was easily punching above the V2S for about the same weight. Still love the Multi though. Comfier and roomier it keep the rider in a decent form the day after as opposed to the Hyperstrada that would leave my lower back in pain for at least another day. At first, I compared the V4S and V2S. But after adding all the optional gizmoz I wanted the price tag difference was about 5800$ Did not regret my choice so far.
First, hats off to the MCN crew and this legendary reviewer on a polished and informative review. How lucky are we to live in this era of amazing motorcycles? Ducati has done wonderful job with the Multistrada, in all its shapes and sizes. Thanks for giving us a peek at this new model.
Perfect review. Thank you. At 6’3” the wind buffering is annoyingly tiring. Does Ducati offer a larger screen to assist taller riders? As it would (as is) fell better to ride without one.
I put a Puig Adventure Touring screen on my 2019 R1250GS, I’m 6’3” and it made all the difference. I sometimes think all boat, bike and car designers are short arse 5”6”ers with a healthy dose of Napoleon Syndrome…..
Ducati does offer a larger touring screen. I may try a small GP style on mine just to see. Getting up in the wind is an improvement for me. I am 6-2” and I’ve noticed in getting my helmet above the screen, it’s immediately quiet.
Great reviews as always. Neeves is a down to earth, very thorough reviewer and very interesting to watch. A question for Neeves or others at MCN with experience with the Multi V2 S... I have heard reports that while the engine has plenty of torque and hp, the throttle response does not feel very direct. Some say they feel a bit of a disconnect between the throttle and the engine. Has anyone at MCN experienced this?
I am already driving the third generation Aprilia Tuono and now I need something more comfortable due to age. I don't know if this ducati would suit me because it has a lot less horsepower than what I drive and that 19 inch wheel bothers me a bit.
I had a 2015 Multistrada 1200S. The sky hook suspension was a joke - it wanted to do tank slappies at moderate speeds. The throttle maps would not allow any power until 15mph and then not much, so any old lady in a Prius could out-drag me from the lights. The gear indicator was unreliable, so sitting at the lights in neutral, it would suddenly decide it was in 1st or 2nd and kill the engine - great fun as the lights change. When pulling away in first with no power, it would suddenly decide it was in neutral and give full power, sending me wheelieing into the car in front. When I did an oil change, there was a pile of metal filings on the magnetic drain bolt, the largest 3/16 inch. Frequent very expensive repairs were needed, so I offed it at 8,000 miles and bought a 1290SAS - a great bike which I thoroughly enjoy. Ducati... a POS.
I have had three; a 2015 1200S, a 2017 Enduro [stolen], and a 2017 1200S. And I have done 3000m on a 1260S. I do not know what you are talking about. My KTM's were both very unreliable, and my R1250GS is a dog. I will be buying another Ducati [my 13th in 28 years].
Good test just one point. A 830mm seat height is high and not "Medium" as MCN put on the review page. The ZRX1200 had a 790mm seat, 800mm worked on LC350s and BMW R1100s, the Laverday Jota was 810mm (and MCN complained how awkwardly tall that was). So the new Mutistrada lowering kit is for average male riders - not "shorter riders". But it is good that seat height it is getting more sensible as we need as many motorcyclists as possible - not just 6 footers and above. Speaking as someone who is just under average UK height, 830mm is a stretch which becomes a problem if you have to paddle backwards in a parking space or traffic or if you have to stop quickly on sloping carparks etc. Actually dropped a KTM SMT when a lorry suddenly swung across me in a sloping car park and i had the wrong foot ready to go down : (
In general, I'd love to hear one sentence about fuel economy, as most riders do mainly fun riding, but might be scared about their carbon footprint nowadays.
Being the best reviewer out there with a Global audience, I think it’s about time to shed the foot-pound and switch to metric units….. Magnificent channel keep up the good work!
@@jameslodge7294 Well to be honest I don't know how you keep up even now. Fuel tank volume in liters but fuel consumption in miles per gallon ? What's THAT on about ? ;-)
So, it’s better than the V4S, except for the power, speed, comfort, wind protection, wind stability on touring rides, brakes, carrying a passenger, safety w/ blind spot & ACC & all around performance? Think this should have been titled “better value.” If you have the $, different class of bikes. If you really only care about value, get a smaller Kawasaki Versys. More reliable & cheaper
I mentioned in another post I have a GSA 1250 and a V4S. V4S is amazing with power, handling and comfort. I wouldn’t even look at a 950 v2. The GSA is a great bike that I use for road and off road. feel like the GSA with more torque works well off road with it’s lower center of gravity.
Im riding a 2017 multistrada 950. Could you elaborate why an upgrade to a v2 would be worth it? My thinking is i should go to the v4 but that's just the (wrong) thinking of bigger = better.
I would only upgrade if you get the S version. I have a 950S and the Skyhook suspension makes it just so versatile. Also according to reviewers, the clutch has become a lot better on the newer Multis.
Great review as always, thinking of replacing my Africa Twin with the V2S...so the pegs are only slimmer, the position is the same? I'm 6'1" and the ergos on the Multi 950S felt a bit cramped for me.
The seat is reconfigured from the scooped banana it was. A flatter, roomier area. And the pegs are from the V4 and 10mm lower. I have a ‘20 950s and pre ordered a V2s immediately for the improved ergos. I am 6-2” and while I love the nimbleness and power of my bike, the limited seat got old after a hundred miles or so. I did opt for the taller optional seat as well as a few other things like heated grips, extra driving lights, etc this time. Opening it up in the canyons is sweet. The handling along with the roar of the motor is a big sensory giggle.
It may be "nimble around town" but is it nimble around the big city with its many stop lights? I tested the 950S after a similar review of it and found it too tall (has been taken care of apparently) it needed too much gear shifting and it was too noisy and with foot pegs that were in the way when I came to a halt and had to put my feet down. It was pretty though ... I guess if I didn't have to ride for an hour to get away from city madness and onto the twisties I might have liked it better.
Whomever is producing the video/stage setup needs to stop the 3/4 and side cameo shots. Pull-back shots are better and more intimate when you have a single subject/actor. The other views only really work if you are capturing a conversation between 2 or more subjects/targets. Production critique aside, love these reviews from a real pro.
V2 still has Desmo valve system. Desmo has highly maintenance cost and has advantages on high rpm which this bike not achieve. Multistrada V4 dosn't use Desmo. I don't see a reason why V2 still uses desmo?
If they had this crap when I bought my monster…… I would not own a monster xD As soon as I heard the seat height got lowered for the V2, I drove 150km to Luxembourg to sit on it. I gotta say, if it handles anything like my old BMW 650, I’m fucking sold 🤣 I sold it cause I could barely reach the ground. Tall/heavy people get all the cool toys!
Tried the 950...engine is a hoot but I felt cramped..couldn't seem to get my right foot comfortable and unable to wriggle much in the seat. My Tiger800 felt like comfy sofa afterwards....albeit suddenly underpowered and nowhere near as composed in the bends!! Shame but not worth the premium of the Duke.
I have owned the Supersport 937s, with Termignoni cans and panniers for 4 years, seems to be an unfashionable bike, done many a high mileage tour, okay it's not for green lanes but for me so much better than A multistrada and how many of us really do green lanes.
I think the one major flaw of the V2/950 as a Sports touring bike/adv bike is primarily the maintenance services cost ratio per mile compared the longevity of the V4 multi, the V2 comes in with a valve clearance job every 18k miles whereas the V4 is every 36k miles and with the service costs of valve clearance jobs on a desmo engine you're actually going to nearly break even on a V4 compared to the V2 just by money saved on services. I think the other thing is really that the 937cc engine is a bit of a miss due to the variability in the reliability of previous 937cc engine bikes, not necessarily the engine being the problem but a host of issues with electronics, gearbox issues, suspension problems, etc. make it still seem like a gamble and unproven platform.
And, these bikes are not user serviceable. Even an oil change requires a dealer to record and reset the service light. Manuals also impossible to obtain.
I tried the Tracer 9 gt, awesome engine and box but that was it, buffeting between 50 to 80 mph was terrible, and you cannot ride it over 120 for the same reason only it gets worse, seat uncomfortable after 20 minutes, dash virtually unreadable, the BMW F900 xr was far better and really easy to ride apart from the seat again, I gave up trying to get it up to the same spec as the V2s as the list of extras was ridiculous, so yes I've ordered mine for delivery on the 1st March and went with the grey!

I purchased a used 2020 S model and have been very happy with it. Some things I would pass on to potential buyers:

If you have it replaced with a link pipe you will make the bike much loader. Too loud in my opinion. Disabling the exhaust valve is a good compromise between the two and will also make the throttle snappier as the exhaust valve opens very slow when applying full throttle.
3. Adding on factory electronic options like heated grips or fog lights requires the dealer to connect to the bikes ECU and activate them after installation, even if you install them yourself to save money.
4. Fuel range is about 220 miles. I would have preferred more.

Have you experienced wind buffeting issues?
@@deb2159 No.
Enjoy it.
I have a 1260s. Absolutely unbelievable bike, but I was taken back by the wind noise not necessarily the turbulence.
I went with spacers and a visor. No more buffeting.
Cinematic intro - much appreciated.
I’ll never buy the bike, but your presentation is perfect and certainly piques my interest.
Sir!
Which bike did you get in the end?
I also own a 959 and am considering the multistrada.
I’m swapping because the 959 is so harsh for longer trips and I need a real passenger seat 🤣
A bonnie is very cool looking btw
Thanks for your info and due to your review i the brought the V2 and its GREAT !!!!!!!!!
Wind buffeting was horrendous on my 950S. Fixed with one of those adjustable wings. Can now ride motorway speeds with visor up! You do have to try the wing at lots of different angles, even small adjustments make a huge difference!
Which windscreen and wing did you get?
@@sapphireracing A non brand one from ebay! It was just to test, but it works so well I can't justify paying 9 times the amount for a 'good' one 😅
Do you mind sharing the link? Facing the same issue with my 950. The buffering on motorways is insane.
Glad to hear that the engine is now reliable. I actually reversed a couple of times just to hear the word 'very reliable'.
For those of you who are interested in passenger comfort: We have tested the following bikes before buying:
(Comments are just what we remembered from the test rides, personal preference)
KTM 1190: super mega awesome; but engine gets too hot for me to be comfortable.
BMW 1200GS and RS : best overall comfort + good engine for relaxed riding
S1000XR: a lot of engine vibrations + i found it to be really mellow in the low revs
Honda AT: great comfort; but suspension and engine to mellow for a sports bike guy like me + stock windscreen is super noisy
Tracer 900: super fun bike + really affordable; but not refined enough and a little small (physically) for long passenger rides.
Our brains don't look at motorcycles as practical, if they did mpg, storage and reliability would be the top priority, not hp, torque and susensions
Bike journo's "this is the best bike ever, it's amazingly awesome", 10 minutes later, also bike journo's " I know I said that was the best bike ever, but trust me, it's not, this one however is the best bike ever, it's amazingly awesome" ...
What this proves to me is that the best bike in the world is the one your on right now. Enjoy the ride.
Wow! Happy to hear the reliability is much better now. I have a few stories from past Ducatis. Thanks for this great video.......Sal : )
I prefer the V2s over the V4s. I thought I was the only one.
I don't get the 19" on this... >95% of the people riding them have no off-road aspirations past a gravel road to a tourist look-out spot somewhere on their trip. 17" would be perfect imho
Exactly! And having two 17" wheels would mean that a great selection of sport touring rubber is available.
Yep, it can't help the handling and imo doesn't look great.
Plenty bikes with 17s
Got a Yamaha Tracer GT 2018 and love it. Only downside to it is the noisy screen on the motorway but can fix that with a new screen or some ear phones.
Honest review. If we can ignore the Ego, when buying a Ducati... never mind.
I purchased a lightly used 950s in September, I’ve put 5000 miles on it since then, it’s utterly addictive, the skyhook suspension is a revelation, good to see Ducati didn’t mess with it too much 👌
Great review 👏👏
Is rear cylinder heat an issue?
@@lewiswithrow1936 Not at all, no matter the weather. I mean, on hot they in traffic you may feel hotter in general, like on any ohter bike, but its not "panigale" hot, the rear cylinder seems to have proper insulation to nut burn your ass. I triend friends Yamaha FJR 1300, and that thing is a oven in comparison.
Great video Michael, thank you for the excellent job!!! greetings from Argentina.
Victory ✌️ for the shorter riders!! This is not a beginner bike, but an intermediate-level bike. Those with 2plus year's of riding experience.
Fantastic review Michael. No bullshit just great insight and knowledge.
Fuel economy on the 950 is amazing. I’ve averaged 3.8l/100km regularly no matter what riding I do. The V4 chews the fuel and range is not great. Range isn’t really an issue on the 950.
Wow, that's be a bit less than my KTM 790 Duke (4l/100km).
Wow, 3.8 is amazing, would have never thought a Ducati will be able to deliver those numbers. Do you ride it off road, can you share your experience.
I know this is an older video but it just confirms how good the 1260 was.
Thank you for this video
I agree with your conclusion.
Great review as always! Would love to see a comparison test between the Multi V2S and the Yamaha Tracer 9GT
That's the most BEAUTIFUL adventure bike I've ever seen. Wouldn't it be AWESOME if you could make a KTM 690 R look that good
Wondering if thinner seat is less comfortable on long rides than the 950S?
well said - its the Goldilocks bike. I have owned both.... and prefer the V2/950S
I have the v4s and had all the big multi's... For me the only aspect where the 1260/1200 is better was in the accuracy on hard pushing where the 17 inch give me more feedback. For all the other aspect the v4s is better indeed
5:55 Maybe it could do with a flow-through slot at the base of the screen to help reduce the buffeting.
Love your sensible approach. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Well said. I'm keeping my 22 MTS V4S though. 😁
Me too😁
The Professor has spokenThanks again.
First, hats off to the MCN crew and this legendary reviewer on a polished and informative review. How lucky are we to live in this era of amazing motorcycles? Ducati has done wonderful job with the Multistrada, in all its shapes and sizes. Thanks for giving us a peek at this new model.
Much appreciated!
the V2 is the real thing, after only 30k with my '17 enduro, but I already know this bike is a keeper.
See how good a bike can look when the lighting is symmetrical? Now why can't all motorcycle have symmetrical lighting lol
I see neeves, I click
😆
Ignoring the potential reliability issues behind buying a used bike vs buying new, why not just buy a used 1200 or 1260?
I am already driving the third generation Aprilia Tuono and now I need something more comfortable due to age. I don't know if this ducati would suit me because it has a lot less horsepower than what I drive and that 19 inch wheel bothers me a bit.
Can't wait till you get your hands on the new 2022 Triumph Speed Twin and hope you take it to the track.
Perfect review, question is I would like buy now 950s it's better buy v2s or just buying 950s......?
Screen, any suggestions what aftermarket screen would improve buffeting for tall riders? Ty
I'm excited ☺️
Are they dependable?
Make a 17" wheel baby Pikes Peak, V2, Ducati.
Now that is a great thought!
Actually dropped a KTM SMT when a lorry suddenly swung across me in a sloping car park and i had the wrong foot ready to go down : (
I wrote "average male riders" because the average height woman will probably need it more compact maybe 780mm?
32 inch inseam, and I ride a DR with 885 mm in urban and adventure settings.. I cope:)
In general, I'd love to hear one sentence about fuel economy, as most riders do mainly fun riding, but might be scared about their carbon footprint nowadays.
Carbon footprint?! Surely you jest, lol.
Great review, as we've come to expect from you. So here's my question - this or the new Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT?
Being the best reviewer out there with a Global audience, I think it’s about time to shed the foot-pound and switch to metric units….. Magnificent channel keep up the good work!
Then us brits really won't know what the hell he is on about!
@@jameslodge7294 Well to be honest I don't know how you keep up even now. Fuel tank volume in liters but fuel consumption in miles per gallon ? What's THAT on about ? ;-)
So, the big question now is: this or the Dessert X? That would be an interesting real world test.
I’m gong to get this one V2s in April
I sold my multistrada 950s because the seat was too tapered and my leg use to hurt after 2 hours riding, maybe it's solved
anyway you could compare this to the tiger gt pro 900?
i hope they upgraded the cornering lights, the previous mts cornering lights doesn’t help at all. weak light.
Do you know if this bike will be available in the US?
I agree 👍 Ducati = V2
Would you have this over the GS tho, Michael?
Ive tried a 950 to a V4s thats like comparing a Cesna to a f22 Raptor…
can we have spoked wheels on the V2s?
I can see a lot of points but...the V2 more engaging than the V4? I have to disagree there
Im riding a 2017 multistrada 950.
When did they start adding cruise control? I remember that was one of the reasons I went with an older GS instead
2010+ Multistrada has potential for cruise contol. Tuneboy in Australia has a flash for it.
2015 multistrada came with cruise control as standard equipment
Basically a 1260S L twin chassis with a 950 motor. Dont know why they call it V2 when Ducati have called their 1198 through to 1262 L-twins.
I'm 6'2", so it's too short for me now?
tmax 2022 long term review possible?
Still miss my single sided swing arm
So, if the V2 is better than the V4 and the 1260 Enduro is better than the V2, we can assume that the 1260 Enduro is better than the V4 hahahaha
Thanks for a good review 😊👍🏻 What is your opinion regarding fuel consumption on the V2 vs the V4?
Cheers 😉
nice review like anything in this world customer beware do plenty of research before you part with your cash
I changed the front sprocket for one tooth less for this reason, much better now.
How does it compare to your Ninja1000sx?
Whomever is producing the video/stage setup needs to stop the 3/4 and side cameo shots. Pull-back shots are better and more intimate when you have a single subject/actor. The other views only really work if you are capturing a conversation between 2 or more subjects/targets.
Production critique aside, love these reviews from a real pro.
So it is a 950 with a new name???
maganda talaga ducati, slim type.
Here, here, from the short rider :)
I luv the v4 but the poor mpg is a deal breaker 4 me...
V2 still has Desmo valve system. Desmo has highly maintenance cost and has advantages on high rpm which this bike not achieve. Multistrada V4 dosn't use Desmo. I don't see a reason why V2 still uses desmo?
Id chose the v2s
I did, awesome bike…
If they had this crap when I bought my monster…… I would not own a monster xD
As soon as I heard the seat height got lowered for the V2, I drove 150km to Luxembourg to sit on it.
One of the things that puts me off this brand is the discolouration of the exhaust system... It make the bike look rusty and kind of tatty.
Would you take the Multistrada V2 S over the Tracer 9 GT? Just as a bike… no price difference consideration
Yamaha's CP3 engine and QS are amazing, everything else is better on Multi. Depends what is important for you.
@@davidcreighton8369 Thank you David. I appreciate your feedback.
Have unfortunately never liked the styling of the Multistrada
