Welcome to my channel! I thought I would introduce myself and do a quick tour of my colouring space. I love colouring and learning about art - it gives my brain a nice change from the science/math stuff I think about daily. :)
If anyone has any questions about anything they see in the video or would just like to say hello, please pop down to the comment section below! I hope that, as I go forward with my channel, I can get better at filming/editing. Please excuse the beginner-level video and sound quality and try to ignore any "ummms" or "uhhhs" you might hear. Recording a TH-cam video is much more nerve-wracking then I thought it would be!

Great colouring space! Fellow Canadian colourist (I’ve got a youtube channel too!) and I had to laugh at your pencil crayon comment 😀. I call my “coloured pencils” pencil crayons all the time and I’m always having to correcting myself. Yes, must be a Canadian thing! Best of luck on your channel. Great video 😊
Hello, fellow Canadian! :) And yes - I think it must be a Canadian thing. :D They were always been "pencil crayons" to me until I started watching other colourists on TH-cam and realized that most people called them coloured pencils. :) I catch myself most times but I'm sure that "pencil crayons" will pop into my videos every now and again. ;) :) And thank you so much for your kind words! I'll check out your channel! :)

Thanks, Lindsay! :) I have no idea why Canadians latched onto "pencil crayons" - but then we do tend to have some odd names for things (like chesterfield for couch and toque for winter hat). :) Is your best friend originally from Canada?
What a lovely colouring space. A beautiful view and you have everything so well organised! I'm from the Netherlands, so I'm well known with Marjolein Bastin's work. I love her illustrations, but I had never seen that day-to-day calender before! I immediately ordered one so that next year I can enjoy her work everyday. 😃
That day-to-day calendar brightens my every day when I sit down to work - I already have the one for next year bought and ready to go! :) Marjolein's work is just so beautiful. Glad you stopped by! :)

Glad you enjoyed it! :) My view is less colourful now that most of the leaves have fallen but we should get some snow soon and I'll be hanging my bird feeders just outside the window (I have to wait until the bears go into hibernation for the winter or they'll just destroy the feeders :)). Nice colouring space 🎉. And yes, the pigment markers are awesome for colouring! I have the Pitt pens and Zig Brushables, and looking forward to once buy the new Steadtler ones. The fact they don't bleed through the paper and are permanent makes them so great, and on most papers, they don't really streak, which if they do isn't a problem if you use a layering technique.
Thanks, Dieter! You're absolutely right about the pigment markers - there are so many great things about using them for colouring. I hope to do a video soon where I look more closely at the various pigment markers available and show how they can be used for both basing and for shading, as well. :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello. I am so glad that I found you, by chance, a Canadian colorist merits, my attention being Canadian too. Your voice is very soothing, having chronic pain I can not stand loud voices, I hope that I will learn to use my tools a bit more, I love coloring, and for me colored pencils always were "crayons de couleur" I used to paint acrylic after years of oil to come to coloring, I love that medium.
I did gather some tools over the years when sales came. I made the mistake of buying watercolor markers but I can not use them in coloring books, I use them as w/c on w/c paper but I have to come up with my own design or copy. I prefer coloring books I do not have to prick my brain to do something. I kind of get lost in the paper my brain gets a brake. Art is what saved my sanity from years of pain. I will be a new member to you.
I did few pages in Marjolein Bastin's book, I love her work a lot and it brings me back to painting, kind of.

So envious!! =D I'm also in Canada, and would love to know more about that unsweetened iced tea! I love tea and drink a lot of iced tea in the summer but really dislike very sweet teas, so that sounds awesome!

The tea powder is from a company called Instant Teas - this should be a link to their website: instantteas.com/ The powders can be used for hot or cold tea - I love to use them to make iced tea! It will seem like you're paying a lot for a 100g bag of tea powder but you only use a 1/4 tsp of powder per cup of tea so those 100g bags last a looooong time. :) I hope you enjoy them! Welcome Connie, Love seeing out your window & your colouring space, I also live out in the countryside in Norfolk UK & this time of year the view is beautiful, I wish more colourists would show their colouring spaces & out their windows, looking forward to watching more of your videos❤ xx I see that you use black pencil cases with white writing, I’ve also done that xx
I love seeing other people's colouring spaces - that's why I thought maybe people might like to see mine. :) And I bet that your spot is absolutely lovely - the UK is such a beautiful place!! And yes - I wrote on the pencil cases with white Posca. :) A "hack" - if you ever need to change a case and want to "erase" the writing, I've found that tracing over the letters a few times with a black Posca makes the previous writing pretty much disappear. :)
@@colouringchemist when I need to change the white posca writing on my black pencil cases I use a little bit of nail varnish remover on a cotton pad, it takes it clean off & then I give it a wipe over with a baby wipe xx

I can do that! I don't have very many Laurentien pencils but I can work with what I have. :) I'll see if I can get that done in the next few weeks!
