Wow. I just started learning how to do my own poly gel nails. I was gluing the tip and then applying poly gel on top but this is a game changer. Going to try this today!!
This is great process for the DIYers like me who sometimes have issues with shaping. Reminds me of using nail forms (except you don't pop them off). Thank you. I will definitely try this method...
Thanks for explaining why you do what you do. I've watched tons of poly nail videos and I never noticed that I didn't know exactly why I applied some steps so naturally I'd forget to incorporate them. You though explained about the cuticle making the nail lift or avoiding the prep on your cuticles for that reason or the reason you thinned out the top. Much appreciated!
This is a great way to apply tips only problem I faced was clients with a flat nail bed I found a way to get past this by applying two coats of base gel the 2nd coat I applied a bit more by running it side to side to build up a small bridge in the middle to give them a curved nail the tips fit perfectly after this, I use a mini flash torch to set them till all 5 tips are on then cure for 60 seconds, that flash torch makes it possible to get all 10 nails on sealed and set so well before a final cure, soon I believe most tips will be applied this way as the products are changing so fast I love the new products compared to when I started in the nail industry back in 1995 the upgrades are amazing, lovely work great video very informative, thank you for sharing👍🏽😊
Thank you so much for such an informative video, I have a high arch and my nails curve downwards which makes application of any type of nail difficult, if its flat on the cuticle area then theres a gap at the end of the nail and visa versa. Going to try this method as the the polygel should fill the gap and I can smooth the underside so theres no ridge, just perfect 👍🏻 ❤
I learned a lot thru your video today.... I hate the dual forms that came with my kit, so I used a full nail and treated it just like a dual form and it worked beautifully.... Thank you for working so hard and sharing your craft with us!!
That was really good to watch and because I'm still learning how to use both hybrid gel and full soft gel tips - I'm a DIYer - I'm not confident enough yet to just go straight in and do it! I like to still watch a video of someone experienced and it's great to watch a different nail tech each time. I've tried applying the tips before with builder gel - what a palaver that was! So now I'm going to be using hybrid gel - fingers 🤞🏻 it goes better than the builder gel! Like some previous comments, I love the fact that some of your natural nails look a bit worse for wear just like mine - my left thumb nail also has a little split in it! So thank you for sharing this with us and as this is the first of your videos I've seen, I will definitely be clicking the 'subscribe' bell!
I was searching for a video like this. I recently bought some gel tips but they have a high arch, and I figured poly gel would be best to fill the gap, but my concern is will the gel tip pop off like the dual forms? How long do they last? Thank you ☺️
Oh my goodness!!! I am soooo happy to founs your vid! I have been using super glue for my nails and when it's time to remove the full tips, I noticed that there's a looot of damage and my nails are deformed/wavy! I am happy I found another way of putting my nails without the use of super glue!
I do this exact same method with builder gel.. I have yet to try the poly gel but I do like that you said it holds a little better. As for the lamp I bought that Kiera sky mini lamp and that helps so much when you go to cure your nails since you can get it in from any angle. I highly recommend that!I’ve also tried the acrylic method where you use acrylic beads to adhere the nail to your natural nail. That works as well. Great video. You explained it perfectly!
I’ve done this method with builder as well and the Polygel definitely holds better so a person is not struggling to put it in a lamp. I’ve seen the Kiera Sky mini, that’s a great idea when using the builder. I’ve used acrylic and that does work well 😊 I just prefer not to have the smell. Thanks for all your tips! Thanks for watching! 😘
Thank you so much for your post! I’ve wondered so much if i can just use my polygel to adhere my tips bc builder gels and top coats are so messy and BURN this poly gel alternative is amazing
THANK YOU THANK YOU!! so i recently switched from polygel nails to jelly nails using builder gel everything was going just fine until this last set....OMG NAIL HORROR SHOW 😞 i don't know where i went wrong 😭 when i finished removing the nails...i discovered i had taken HALF of my nail off on a few of my nails..and i was staring at nail bed🤯🤯🤯..im wondering if im allergic to whatever is in the builder gel because i never had any issue with just polygel!! I stopped the polygel only because I am horrible at shaping the nails so figured full tips was the easiest solution...now i will DEFINITELY use polygel with the full tips whenever my nails grow back 😞
Great idea! Thanks for the video, never thought to do this but it’s a great idea! I’ve been using glue on tips and hand forming the gel on top and the nail glue holding the tips on can be weak! I don’t like using nail forms for gel, there’s too much shaping after.
So I was wondering why do you not put the polygel all the way to the tip of the fake nail ? I feel like mine would break easily in the middle where the polygel stops?? Thank you 😊
Sometimes the full cover nail is strong enough to not bend easily. So going all the way down wouldn’t be necessary unless you needed the extra support or want it for a design
Ouch idk if it’s the lighting or your nail beds are so red an sore. I did that too when I I was first learning, overfilling the whole nail after every new set. All we have to sand is the new growth. Beautiful nails poly gel technique! Thanks!
So excited just order all the stuff for this 🙌 I tryed doing polygel I had no luck and press on with glue keep popping off I'm hoping this works for me I'm so excited
This system I show in this video is way better than polygel. If you’ve purchased tips you could always just purchase the 3 step system. Even tho their tips are amazing. They also have tips with slight Color, that can be applied. Normally a tip won’t cure if it’s solid color th-cam.com/video/T-TUmptn6dU/w-d-xo.html

hi i think this video is so interesting! whats the difference between leaving the fake nail after curing it with the polygel vs. popping it off as they're usually done?
@@ardellesnails Thank you! I have some nails already that I’m going to try this method. I am not good at shaping my own nails. It is embarrassing how bad I am at it!
@@ardellesnails Heyy I have a question on the same topic as well! Isn't the nail going to be 'stronger' if you make a full nail with the polygel and pop off the nail form? That's what I have been doing but it's such a long process and I make tons of mistakes when trying to build a full nail with polygel. So I just saw this method and I wondered how is this better for the natural nail, are the nail forms really stronger than building a whole nail with polygel and what other differences are there!
how would you recommend if we wanted to put like a butterfly glitter or something on top without it coming of? i have an issue putting those in my nails and it’ll lift at the edges and end up coming off
They just don’t because you buff the underside before applying. This system is way better than the polygel. With this system you don’t even have to buff the underside th-cam.com/video/T-TUmptn6dU/w-d-xo.html
Hi, When I use builder gel to apply my press ons it lifts my natural nail off at the top because my nails are so flat and the tips have a strong c curve. Will this method be better for ski jump or flat nails.
Yes it would be better for sure. It would fill the area in so that your nail takes on the shape of the tip. Just make sure your applying enough Polygel, without too much
I think I may have finally found the perfect solution for doing my polygel nails! Clips! Genius! Question though: what does the removal process look like with the full cover nail tips over the polygel?
Glad it was helpful. I usually just file it all off each time. Trim them down first then file. I’ve also done a fill, I recommend only doing it once then soaking or filing all the product off. Here is a video where I did a fill on the tips with polygel th-cam.com/video/OeRGqSWha6A/w-d-xo.html
I’ve tried this method and my nail keeps popping off like a dual form and I’m etching it too I’m etching it with diamond bit using a base but it still comes off like a dual form what can I do????! Yes and also using a soft gel nail idk what I am doing wrong should I apply base to the nail tip too?
When you decide to remove and go back to natural nails, how do you get the press on nail off if it has polygel underneath!? Are you filing the fake nail, and then soaking to get the polygel off the natural nail?
Thank you for the video, I followed the exact steps but mine keeps popping out after a day or two. I’m using beetles poly gel and base / top coat. Do you think it might be better if I switch brand? Thx
They shouldn’t be unless you have lots of air bubbles after they’re cured. Whatch this video this system is amazing, I like it better than the polygel th-cam.com/video/T-TUmptn6dU/w-d-xo.html
im so confused because i always see people popping off the top shaper nail after applying the poly gel. How does the polygel stick to the fake nail tip!?
How do your remove this though? 🤔 is it easier if you were to glue the tip only and then put the polygel on top? I was gonna try that method next but if removing it is easy this way too, this looks much easier!
I use a nail to form the poly gel nail usually then once it is dry, it pops right off. Do nail tips somehow not pop right off after the polygel is cured? I'm so confused how this works.
Can I ask why you don't take the polygel to the end of the nail form on the underside before curing? Wouldn't that leave the tip of the form more flexible to break?
@@ardellesnails Yes!I know, the thing now is that I do my nails with gel and it took sometimes 4 hours! Just perfecting the nail shape, so I’m trying to do something more time friendly 🙃
Glueing them is hard on the natural nails…since this video I found a better, stronger easier way of applying. Here is the video th-cam.com/video/T-TUmptn6dU/w-d-xo.html
I feel like the link isn’t right for the tips. Those tips look a lot longer than the ones in the video. I really want to find a decent length and these are perfect but all the ones on Amazon are too long. ☹️
So I'm Just clarifying, the full nail stayed on because you etched the surface prior to polygel application? otherwise would full nail have come off like a dual form would of ??? Thank you
I tried to do this step by step and even went on the thinner side with the gel and it oozed out the top and there was a bubble between the nail ..I tried again and again ,,,same result I don't understand I just got frustrated your gel seems thicker than mine like less oozy I'm using makartt clear polygel should I be using the pink or natural ?
The Makartt Polygel should be fine. Less is better....make sure you push it down on the tip before it goes in the light, it will push any air bubbles out. Once you have cleaned up anything that came out of the sides use a clip. This will stop the tip from popping up and causing air bubbles
I'm struggling so hard with this. It seems like no matter how little I use the polygel ALWAYS leaks out the sides what am I doing wrong???? I also struggle with the nail sliding as I'm trying to fix the under side. I feel like I'm missing something
You have to seriously try this instead of the polygel….you won’t regret it this system is so much easier than the polygel. If you decide to purchase it make sure you let me know what you think. How do your remove this though? 🤔 is it easier if you were to glue the tip only and then put the polygel on top? I was gonna try that method next but if removing it is easy this way too, this looks much easier!
Here’s a video on how I remove them th-cam.com/video/DZ9eyLR86VI/w-d-xo.html
Do you have to use the soft gel nails or can you use any plastic full cover nail?
You can use either, I prefer these th-cam.com/video/H2LPbsDLXyM/w-d-xo.html
How to I get them off? I used polygel instead of glue. I dont have a drill
Wow thats cool. Never seen polygel applied this way before
Thanks for watching!
I use a nail to form the poly gel nail usually then once it is dry, it pops right off. Do nail tips somehow not pop right off after the polygel is cured? I'm so confused how this works.
No they don’t if they are etched on the inside and your nails are prepped correctly
Can I ask why you don't take the polygel to the end of the nail form on the underside before curing? Wouldn't that leave the tip of the form more flexible to break?
There’s no need. It’s very strong without it
i was worried bc i ordered everything to do polygel nails but forgot glue for the tips.. whew
Do I need to wait for alcohol to evaporate from polygel?
If we put base coat on the actual tip + our nail is it gonna be more secure or is etching enough for it to not pop off?
Yes you have to etch unless you use this system to apply the full nail tips th-cam.com/video/H2LPbsDLXyM/w-d-xo.html
@@ardellesnails thank you so much, this video helped me a lot :) 💗
Glad it was helpful!
Where is your poly gel from
Add those regular plastic tips or are they made of gel? Trying to learn a fastest way to put on nails
These are regular tips not gel but very strong. Never fast to do nails. Nails done properly should never be rushed
@@ardellesnails Yes!I know, the thing now is that I do my nails with gel and it took sometimes 4 hours! Just perfecting the nail shape, so I’m trying to do something more time friendly 🙃
For sure...doing your own can take a long time.
is this method better than glueing the tips to natural nail? I've tried so many methods, but I'm bad at shaping so my last hope is full tips
Thank you
Yes it stays on with no problem. Yes if the product doesn’t have something to grab hold of it won’t bond correctly and can come off
Love watching your videos tysmfs 💙 💛
Thanks so much! 😘
can i use base gel to apply the full nail tip?
Im wondering about this too? Did you found out?
Im confused.. after applying the polygel to the dualform and putting it on the natural nail and curing it, im i not supposed to remove the dual form?
It’s not a dual form it’s a full nail tip
When cleaning up gel under the extension, how can you not take any out of the area where it adheres.?
Just have to be careful not to
I tried to do this step by step and even went on the thinner side with the gel and it oozed out the top and there was a bubble between the nail ..I tried again and again ,,,same result I don't understand I just got frustrated your gel seems thicker than mine like less oozy I'm using makartt clear polygel should I be using the pink or natural ?
The Makartt Polygel should be fine. Less is better....make sure you push it down on the tip before it goes in the light, it will push any air bubbles out. Once you have cleaned up anything that came out of the sides use a clip. This will stop the tip from popping up and causing air bubbles
This is a great nail hack! How long do you say these last? And do you find a lot of lifting with this method?
They will last 3 weeks. Yes you will get the odd lifting
Once you put the polygel do you cure ut under a uv light?
Yes!
did you remove the sticky layer from the base coat before you applying the polygel?
No do not wipe the base coat
@@ardellesnails thank you maam.
I have a 10% off code you can use if you decide to purchase ARDELLESNAILS
Here is the link Daily Charme 3-Step Extension Essential Kit

Would this work on opaque full coverage tips?
No it wouldn’t cure properly
I want to do this but I want to know how long do they last?
This system lasts the longest th-cam.com/video/T-TUmptn6dU/w-d-xo.html
Is these full tips made out of gel or just regular plastic?
If you follow the link in the description of the video it will tell you
What liquid are you using to thin its down
isopropyl alcohol
Great video, how long do these last?
Thank you, I had them on 3 weeks and then did a fill. Here is how I did the fill th-cam.com/video/OeRGqSWha6A/w-d-xo.html
@@ardellesnails I felt giving up. Thank you for showing me a better way
Thank you I have trouble putting it on the dual form just not knowing how much polygel and curing and the nail coming out soft and not cured
How long does this method last? & How to remove the nails?
It lasts 3 weeks, even then it’s still good...because it’s Polygel I file it off
