I missed the trail too first time up there (I did the cirque the other way around with the mountain in the center at 12:53 and without Paprika). One of the better ones out that way. I think that was the weekend I did Baker/Stratus.
That is a great area out there! I really liked it. Lots of cool peaks. Hopefully before season is over im gonna hike to Baker Pass then hit Nimbus, Stratus and Baker then drop it back down. I was gonna try it the other day and the TH was closed. But as of yesterday its open again. How was that traverse between Baker and Stratus?
@@nicksangetta8874 Mostly easy class 2 can make it class 3 if you really want by staying right up on the ridge. Looks like more of the same over to Nimbus but I haven't done that traverse. The drop from Baker to the trail just above where it crosses the grand ditch is pretty steep though!
I think you can actually access this stuff from the west side, and if you did that you wouldnt need to deal with RMNP at all. I started from the east, which was inside the park. If you do that I think you need a pass. Im not sure though.
I got the Garmin Explorer+.. the "plus" just means it has the maps included. Monthly fee is $12.99. Its one of the best things I have bought lately. Totally worth it. You can preset 3 different messages and send them out as much as you want. Each message includes a location so the person receiving message can see exactly where the sender is. Its awesome.

Great one.💯
Kinda curious . If I backpacked this, would I need a permit from RMNp?
