    Greetings. Did Sniktau in June 1973; Cupid and Grizzly Labor Day 1992. Never forgot both experiences. Thanks.

    Amazing views, beautiful video and the best "Good morning!" I've heard yet :) ... at 4:40 the view, wow. On a non-windy day I'd sit at that spot for quite a while for sure. Then at 11:00 where it "looks atrocious"--that's where I'd stop and wave you on while I turn back because NOPE. This is why I love your videos because you'll go where I won't lol. Thank you for sharing again!

      Thank you! :) Grizzly looked so much worse than it really was. I mean it wasnt easy but I wasnt using my hands either.. pretty much just walk it on up. There were some folks behind me on the way up and I waited and waited for them at the summit but they never showed up.. they must have bailed on it.

    It makes me wonder when I see those trails how long they've been there and did the parks kind of start them. It's amazing how good they looked. I'm glad it was your camera you dropped instead of you falling. Oh.....I'm glad the camera continued to work! LOl

      How was the snow when you did this? Was it easy to keep with the trail? I'll be doing this in about 4 weeks.

    Hey Nick was wondering when you were on Sniktau and looking down in the valley is that I-70? Your zoom still must not work. Couldn't tell for sure if that was a highway or river.

    • @nicksangetta8874
      @nicksangetta8874  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im 99% sure that is i70 down there. And yeah.. zoom still busted.

    Hows the hike up Grizzly? Looks hard, which it probably is, but is the steepness exaggerated when you’re further away?

    • @nicksangetta8874
      @nicksangetta8874  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its pretty dang steep! It was amazing to me how solid it was for being that steep though. Awesome summit.

      @@nicksangetta8874 it’s nice that even with the parking lots full the trails are never real crowded. I have a pass for brainard lake for Tuesday(on vacation ) I am pumped to go back there. I still think these timed entry systems suck but it is what it is.

    Aircraft noise is the one man made sound you just can't escape. I will say this: on an 8-day backpacking trip in the Weminuche I rarely heard it. Only a couple of times.

    • @nicksangetta8874
      @nicksangetta8874  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds awesome! Some days I can hike all day in Rocky Mountain National Park and hear maybe 6 planes over a 10 hour period. We usually have crystal clear blue skies on those days.. other days I can be in RMNP and it sounds like Im hiking under DIA. Skies usually look like garbage when that is going on. It always blows my mind how that happens and no one notices.. or cares.

    • @JamesRobertSmith
      @JamesRobertSmith 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nicksangetta8874 Jet noise ticks me off when I'm in wilderness areas and National Parks. The whole time I was in the Weminuche I figured that there are no major flight paths over that part of the San Juan Mountains because I almost never heard any jets.
