Hi to all the guys here. Would like to make an important question in my case concerning these dell computers that come with raid as an active drive controller (intel rst active) and not ahci. The problem is that whenever i try to boot into these machines in a winpe environment with the Strelec package if you know that, in order to reset the admin password if i cannot log into it or just backup the data of a user into an external hdd before reinstalling windows if the precedent os is damaged and cannot be repaired, the internal hdd-s or ssd-s of just the os directories into the drives are invisible. I click on “This PC” and there’s only my usb visible and nothing else. I made a search on the internet and it seems it has something to do with the intel rst driver that abstracts the hdd from the os. Please help me, what should i do in this case in order to be able managing the pc even when the pc is unbootable or just the admin password is not recognized.
We have not tried it but some of our customers had success installing this card in the T5820. Power and compatiblity is not an issue, its the size. Some versions are larger and do not fit inside the chassis. The founders edition is smaller, and does fit. Best of luck.
If you buy Dell know this. There’s NO USA support, your routed to India. Laptops are built in China, towers built in Mexico. Once your payment clears, you order is confirmed, Dell creates a shipping tracking number before it’s built and you cannot cancel the order. The tracking number is US based and Dell cannot tell you where computer is between China and third party tracking. If Dell cannot ship you computer in the allotted time they will lead you to click button that automatically extends their delivery date. if you refuse an extension they route you back to India for additional delays, but keep in mind there’s a federal law that states your internet purchase must be delivered within 30 days if not you can demand a refund. My order was a nightmare. Missed three delivery dates and 3 CAD classes. And only through enormous pressure I put on Dell with Federal Trade Commission, was able to cancel the order and get a refund. I will not work with Dell again.
Good Point. We hope you will consider us in the future. We are a refurbisher and sell all Dell Workstations with 3 year warranty included. We do not source out our support 😁.
You just got a bad one, I have had 2 Dells both run great. One is over 7 years old and no problems. The 2nd is new and and it's a 5820 with some nice upgrades I put in my self.
Not sure what you bought (or where you found it). But I've owned this exact system since mid-2018 and it's without a doubt the most reliable workstation I've ever owned and hasn't let me down once. When its finally time to upgrade, I'll only be talking to DELL.

Yes. The boot order can be selected in the BIOS. When booting press F12 to access the boot menu if you choose to boot to the secondary OS.

What year model was this? Is it best to have 4 sticks of 8GB or 2 sticks of 16GB for 32GB total?
Unless the processor+mobo supports quad channel, I would go with 2 sticks of 16 GB

I have one of these that I use as a home server... it's ROCK SOLID.
