    • @jinx3241

      They first mark & grade your indiviual paper and make a threshold for the individual components. This does not have an A*.
      Next they make the thresholds for you overall subject. This will be the grade you get. The marks you'll need for an A as final grade will the sum of the marks needed for an A in all the individual components.
      For example; I also gave Pakistan Studies in 2022. My grade in History ended up being an A and my grade in Geography ended up being a B, but my final grade on the marksheet was an A.
      I probably got a high A and a high B which ended up totalling to an A

    Ok but I did papers 12 and 52 in a year and 32 and 42 in a different year so which threshold should I use? 2024 or 2025

    • @Obaid-Ur-Rahman342
      @Obaid-Ur-Rahman342 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Firstly if you do 12 and 52 in AS(first year of A levels) it's impossible to do 32 and 42 for A2(The last year of A levels). You will have to do paper 32 and paper 62 for A2. Now your AS grade will be based on 12 and 52. So if you did it in 2023 May June you will have to use the 12 and 52 combination threshold for that series as your final grade. Now let's say you did A2 in November 2023. Listen carefully this part is Important. So there going to calculate your total marks for A2 for papers 32 and 62. They will then add it to the number of marks you got in June 2023 for AS. Now for the 2023 November threshold they will put up a threshold for the option of taking 12,52,32,62 and wherever your marks lie in the threshold will be your final grade for the overall, A level. Basically your AS marks will be carried forward. Also if you someone did AS in November 2022 and A2 in November 2023 and they took the same components and variant as you they will have a separate threshold (I think).

      @@Obaid-Ur-Rahman342 Hi, I have a question. Suppose I take my AS exam on p12 and 42 on June 2022 and the combined score for getting a B on June 2022 is 74 and I take p32 and 52 next year on June 2023, but I checked the grade threshold and the combined score (including 12, 32, 42, 52) to get a B is 146 instead of 150. It seems like Cambridge add the score from p12 and 42 from June 2023 with 32 and 52 which gives 146 for B instead of using the score in p12 and 42 from June 2022.
      Doesn't it become unfair if the students in the current year who took p32 and 52 doesn't take the exam for p12 and 42 as they have took it in the previous year and if the grade threshold for p12 and 42 is high in the current year, it became harder for the students in the current year who took p32 and 52 to get a B grade overall?

      💀😭. No bro. Let's say you got 80/81 pum for AS. For A2 let's say the threshold for an A is at 100 (for pure maths 3 and statistics 1). So if you get 115 in your A2 Papers you would definitely be able to turn that A(80pum) into an A*(90 pum) though it's going to be a low A* so nothing crazy. Good luck and I messed up pure maths(expecting like 54) and mechanics was really good for me (expecting 37 cause I checked my paper afterwards).
