Great review. A bit too much black on this build, but an epic car nonetheless. The noises, feedback and raw feel of the 997 are tough to match. We need more 997 porsche 911 content on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing
350 is pretty good already, depending what car and what engine, or how much weight it has. I drove a tesla model x with 800 hp and audi r8 v10 with 540 hp before, so my own car, with 184 hp is nothing to me anymore. But its not 50 hp either😂 but you know, you get used to faster cars, 350 is not that much anymore, but not bad
@@KEV19019Yeah, with a lighter car, like this, 350 hp is plenty for having fun. It’s also enough to get you in trouble if you’re not careful, but not enough that you’re in over your head in just a couple seconds, like a 650 hp engine can do. It’s especially good for twisty canyon roads.
I don't get the point. Original rear looks better. Just replace the steering wheel, the infotainment system and it is good to go. In my point of view the lack of power is the issue.
I currently own my 997 2S for 18 years and my daily car is a BMW 540d G31 LCI (soon to be replaced by a X5 50e). I understand the feedback why the Carrera doesn't feel very fast. Nowadays we're bombed with either electric/hybrid cars, or turbo engines which all deliver torque very early. The 997 doesn't work like that with its aspirated engine. If you want to go fast, you need to work for it by staying high in the revs. And that's the beauty of driving a 997, YOU drive the car instead of the other way around. Everything feels more raw and more mechinal. You still feel the (wrong) placement of the rear-engine when cornering and and the exhaust note really contributes to your smile. For an almost 20 year old car, 355hp in a 1400kg car is okay ... especially keeping in mind an older 911 shines in cornering instead of going flat out on a highway. I love my 540d and I'll probably love the X5 50e as well, but I'm sure the Carrera will keep giving me goosebumps and the biggest smile behind the wheel. Not interested in a Restomod, but if I ever would replace my 997 S (which I doubt) it would be for a 993 or 964 (Turbo) ... even if they're slower. Or a 997 GT3. ;)
Greetings from Czech Republic! I have black 997 c2s too and love it every time I take a look on it, sit into it or drive it. Will never ever sell it :) I like here the 991 steering wheel. Good tip for small upgrade. Front end is epic, but the rear end is not my cup of coffee…
Great build, a bit pricey for a carrera 4s, this restomod on a 997.2 targa 4s and maybe have the gts powerkit added for 408 hp would make an incredible car
Nothing better than an old school 911 with a manual gearbox, and NONE of the electronic gizmos that take the pleasure out of PURE driving enjoyment. Old cars are just more enjoyable to drive than the new cars.
Like the front bumper (on the black at least), not keen on the rear, however the interior looks really well done. Nice wheel selection, echo’s the 992 option …
@@memorimusic420 or how little! That's exactly the problem....you've no idea what they've done, apart from two bumpers and a retrim, as I said. (But even a proper full engine rebuild is only 10-15k, if they actually do one, where's the rest going?)
@@EDIT-Automotive though to be fair, it's already a very nicely finished car before you even get hold of it! 😂😂Apart from the bumpers and retrim, the rest just seems to be refurbishing the original car back to standard spec. That's engine rebuild 15k, suspension 3k, brakes 2k, transmission rebuild 3k, car purchase 30k, wheels and tyres 5k, respray 5k, sundry other bits 10k. Anything else? That's leaving a lot of profit.
Love my 997.2 C4S . I tersted 992 that i like so much but very different in the driving. 997 is more rude. I'm waiting for the 992.2 presentation but the 997 will stay with me!
99% of the time those "restomod" don't do it for me but this one is very nice, especially the interior. A 997.1 Turbo from them would look absolutely epic
I took my mom's 2020 Subaru Ascent for a test drive for top speed and it is around 207 to 213 km/h(129 to 132 mph). That is my fastest ever in my 28+ years of driving. It is has 260 hp and it felt like I was going really fast. Also coming back down from around 210 km/h(130 mph) the steering wheel was shaking so uncontrollably I thought the damn thing was going to fall off. Most people in the US would be scared to even try to touch 210 km/h(130 mph). It was fun but scary at the same time.
Yes it does. The lights, inspired by the original Porsche made by Butzi, are the white rectangles that can be seen at 2:54. Futhermore, the third white light in the middle at the bottom of the car is the reverse light.
‘’Its not that quick’’ ‘’it hasnt got a lot of horsepower’’ 🔥Me doing 140 kilometers an hour when going crazy because it’s so fast for me and I’ve never gone that fast🔥 ✌🏽Me sitting in a car with 130 horsepower which felt like so much because I’ve never sitten in a decent car✌🏽
This shows the difference between people who drive quick cars a lot and people who have never deiven these cars. Someone like him calling a 350 hp car not that much, not that quick but it’s more than enough to have fun while I find a 70 horsepower car already more than enough😂

What a sound. No stupid pops and bangs. Just pure mechanical bliss for the ears.
Clean sound is my preference as well
Can’t stand pops and bangs, especially engineered ones that make exactly the same noise every time on lift-off. Very irritating!
Thank you! Can't go wrong with pure & raw sound of the 3.8L flat 6
Prefer clean sound too, hate pops and bangs.
dude , pops are annoying
"Old cars are just better than new cars" You are correct.
Agree but there are some cool new ones
Old things in general feels more familiar because of that it feels home
Yes I prefer the older cars that actually have buttons ,3 pedals and a handbrake
What a bold opinion.
a led bar at the back would have looked great on this build
Yep. I think better than the carbon grill anyway.

I love the black on black. Low key, not showy, but hauls ass in the real world.
