Demon Possession or Mental Illness?

  • My friend, and Christian psychologist, Jeff Logue came on the show to discuss mental illness and demon possession. We talk about open doors to demonic activity such as substance abuse and unrepentant sin, and we talk about ways to analyze the activity of people to help us determine whether they have a mental sickness or demon possession. The Pentecostal-charismatic denominations of Christianity have by in large been the only voices speaking to this issue of "demon possession". However, we perceive that many of these voices have neglected the reality of mental illness, we try and bridge the gap.

    I used meds for ahwile not knowing any other options. Mayne it save my life momentarily, but It made me numb. I started looking into other things for help. I did a lot of therapy. Read books. Tried supplements. Exercise. All those things helped. As I grew I began to pray more and eventually felt like God told me to get off meds. I went slowly and moved to the natural approaches. Felt better than I had in years. But still had episodic moments. I cried out to God. Over time, He showed me places of demonic entrance. Not enough time or space here, but once I attacked the spirit part of mind, body, spirit, I was better by leaps and bounds. I walk in victory now! Quick things you can do is get outside, get off sugar, play praise music all day, check into supplements, and then get with a Christian therapist and someone that does deliverance ministry. Thanks for this interview but take it deeper for those still struggling.

    Also childhood traumas and wounds can also open us up to demonic forces. sometimes individuals need deep emotional healing to overcome these dark powers that have been allowed into their lives by adults who are responsible for taking protecting and caring for them.
    Once these wounds begin healing they can Begin to build up strength and faith to close the door to the darkness. Again, it's so important that these people feel supported and that we pray with them and for them until they are delivered.

    You mention drugs and their effects but you haven’t mentioned pagan and magical practices. I was involved with yoga for over 30 years and I was trying to release my kundalini, and I did. I don’t know how demonic this was however I was psychotic for over 20 years and it wasn’t until the Lord healed me, miraculously, that my psychosis ended this year. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 1 with psychotic features and I know that my own story of mental illness is a part of my ministry for God. The doctors who provide the clinical support on my team think it’s the medication, but I took the same medications for 20 years with no change until someone prayed over me and God was ready for me to be healed.

    Why not do deliverance on the spot with the woman who "had the spirit of lust?" Why refer her to, yet, another person?? This discussion felt bad (as a female viewer) hearing 3 male Christian men discuss the details. It felt somewhat judgemental actually.

    This was not an accurate discussion on the content. Demonisation isn't like the excorcist where the room goes cold etc. Demonisation is very common and needs to be destigmatised. Go have a look at the ministries of Katherine Krick and Isaiah Salvidar on TH-cam. It's more common, is mostly if not all mental illness - from a father with a daughter with BPD, untreatable depression, suicidality on 20 SSRI and AP meds - it was the work of deliverance that completely healed her. Josh you need to interview Fern and Audrey, Katherine Krick and find a christian psych that can give a less 'exceptional' view of deliverance. This topic needs to be higher and the destigmatisation needs to be higher on the agenda.

    • @TeRongo
      @TeRongo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Christian my daughter received TMS from the standard model. Pretty standard these days. It was a stronghold in her deliverance. The chems she was prescribed, standard part of treatment were demonic strongholds in her deliverance. She was encouraged to journal all her self hating and destructive thoughts. Pretty standard. It was a stronghold re-enforcing her condition. None of these ailments are in heaven. She was in and out of hospitals for 3 years. Only deliverance healed her. Bipolar and borderline personality disorder - these ‘diagnoses’ don’t go away and treated as finding a way to live with them for their entire life.
      Deliverance completely healed her. She has not even symptoms today.
      Chemical imbalance is a physical manifestation of spiritual affliction, not the other way around.
      So yes, if not all. Demonic affliction is very common. Tares with the wheat. Or do you think the tares are other humans? They are demons that we all live with and through the power of the blood of Christ we overcome. Church needs to see just how common this is.

    As a psychiatrist this dudes description of the 7 year old has a hole in it...There isn't a medical doctor or psychiatrist in the world who would authorize a dosing that would knock an adult down to a 7 year old. Even in a situation where physical restraint would be in progress, the dosing for this age range would be pretty mild with IM benadryl being the likely medication used, perhaps IM vistral....

    • @jonathancuzner3881
      @jonathancuzner3881 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, there are many instances where physical restraints are used in addition to chemical restraints. I have personally been involved in cases where this happens. I've also seen patients require massive amounts of sedatives before they take effect. It happens like this: you give a normal dose and expect within a certain time frame to see a certain effect. If the patient doesn't have the desired change, then you give more, and more until the desired effect is achieved. I've given triple or quadruple the normal dose to adults until the sedative is working. In the meantime, physical restraints are still required until the sedative is working.

    • @Americanwoman74
      @Americanwoman74 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jonathancuzner3881 exactly what I was going to say, and I'm not even a psychiatrist. For one: it's pretty much common sense because it's the same way Drs administer pain relief. They're not going to go straight to a more potent dose and risk the patient's life. Number 2,
      If this so called psychiatrist doesnt know this, then he ain't no psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are constantly altering the dosages of medication they prescribe for their patients simply because
      all these psychiatric drugs will ALWAYS be considered trial and error drugs. What works for one patient who suffers from the same mental illness as another, will end up causing severe side effects in the 2nd patient.
      mental health care has always been in a unique field of it's own (AMONGST all medical Specialties), why? despite copious amounts of medical research, clinical trials and building new brain analysis technology, we STILL cant find, grasp NOR understand the mystery we call the human brain. Therefore Treating mental illness is extremely convoluted. Not to mention Big Pharma's neverending agenda. I should know. I'm a just another damn lab rat amongst millions. So Mr shrink can just take his a** and go sit down somewhere. If he really is a psychiatrist, & I can figure this shyt out, then why doesn't he KNOW? He should know better than to insult someone's intelligence. He should know mental illness and a person's IQ are mutually exclusive

    Satan can never be your father. God made you, He is your only heavenly Father. Satan didn't and cannot make you or anything. You are owned by your maker (the Good Lord), you are not your own. You cannot give away or sell what is not yours to begin with. Remember the prodigal son. The Good Lord owns you and has open arms to welcome you back. Satan is the father of lies, theft and murder, that is his only creation. What does the Good Lord say?: Luke 13:3 Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Look at the other videos in the Remnant Radio Series on Demonology. This is not a good one. That Dr. doesn't even know how to cast a demon out. Demons don't have bodies. That is their problem.
