I'm a black man..I needed to see this because it helps me understand the complexity of the black mother and trying to understand her role in her daughter's development.. Society is so focused on the black man and how he evolves that the needed attention for black women is almost invisible to non existent..We people of all races need to dedicate more time to the strengths and extraordinary contributions women have made to the world..We start with our daughters..

Watched this short film almost 1 year later, this time I viewed it with new eyes, and though about my parenting skills, am I doing enough? is my daughter feeling comfortable & confident in her beautiful brown skin? Have I raised her differently from her brothers? Are our conversations answering her unasked questions? Thanks for writing and producing such beautiful work. Thank you for bringing an awareness to those who didn’t know
