    Back in the day, my Audio/RF Engineer put together an amazingly powerful and versatile board setup for the local radio station where I was Host/Manager.
    We were so proud of what we accomplished, and one of the Trades did a story about our ingenuity and ability to bring it in at about $100,000.
    Today with my Rodecaster Pro II I do it for $699.00 U.S.

    Love the submixes feature, the only thing I‘d love to improve on it is an indication/warning about them on the main screen. I was stupid enough once to mute mic 1 from the SD cards output mix (for testing) and later trying to record a podcast only to realize that I forgot to reset it and thus have recorded nothing. 🙈

    As a streamer it would be nice to just be able to quick swap between mixes. Most of the time I'm not interacting with my main mix (set it and forget it but occasionally tweaks need to be made) but instead adjusting what I'm hearing through my headphones. There needs to be a simple hot swap to change between mixes.

    Those of us who use it for radio broadcasting, need to talk on the phone with the listener in pre-listening. When someone calls to go live, we need to be able to talk with them before we introduce them live, and that only by pre-listening. I think it could be simple to press "pre-fader" on the microphone and the phone channel and be able to talk to the one on the phone without taking off the headphones.

    The on thing I can't find the answer to is creating audio sources. For example, with the GoXLR, I have a Mic, Chat, Game, and music fader (would also love to have two more faders: system and samples). Can I have the same setup with the RodeCaster? Can I have a separate channel for chat (discord), game, music, etc., and all be controlled by faders?

    • @AugustSixth
      @AugustSixth ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately it can do about half of that. We are waiting on an update for “virtual channels” to make this a better solution for streamers. Right now you can have a fader each for : mic, system/game (usb 1), music and other apps (usb2), and a fader for discord chat… however all those faders can only mix into 2 stereo output sources when using 2 usb cables. So even though you have multiple faders… you only have 2 outputs. More control is necessary when steaming to have more outputs

    I’ve been dual PC streaming with the RCP 2 for a few months now and it works great though it would be nice to have an output delay or sync offset on just the mic rather than the whole stream, also this thing is in dire need of a printed manual, you know the 500 page bible kind…just saying

    I'm still a little confused, I want my Mic/Discord to be over all louder than my game volume. I understood lowering my mic in my own ears but what about game play? I'd like it to be normal for me but quiet for my stream. I just purchased my Duo yesterday and still have some learning to do. In the headphones area where I adjusted my mic, is that the same place where I'd change how loud my game volume is to me vs my stream? Again I'm just a bit overwhelmed. Any links for references?

      And to answer the question - is sounds like a common misconception about routing. Routing works on the outputs, not the inputs.
      You need to adjust the routing for the output device you have connected to Discord, not the input device your gaming PC is connected to. Assuming that:
      - your gaming PC is connected to USB 2 - so the game audio is coming in on USB Secondary
      - you have USB1 Chat connected to Discord as the input and output device
      You need to go to the routing for USB1 Chat, and deactivate USB Secondary. This will prevent your game audio (on USB Secondary) from being heard on the USB1 Chat output (which is what is being fed to Discord).
      I hope that helps!

    Nothing can improve the rode podmic. It is a problematic mic every-which way you look at it. Its weighs too much, pops too much and the gain is still low. It weighs so much that no normal boom arm is able to bear its weight. And when you use a heavy boom arm like the samson mba38 that has its downsides like causing your table to warp over time. And I doubt very much that a rodecaster pro could improve its audio quality. I don't understand why rode pushed that mic instead of making a new version of the rode procaster or reducing its price. My advice would be if you're low on budget get a shure sm57 or the samson dynamic mic with USB. If you can buy the rode procaster or shure SM7b. The rode podmic, waste of money. Rode should not have pushed this product ever but still they keep on pushing it in these new videos.

    I really wish RC2 would stop being over complicated. Or at least , have a mode which can simplify things further. I wish you would implant a routing tick table like goxlr, and beacn mix create use with more out put channels for apps etc. So, like game, music etc you have one dedicate outpuut for discord so why not more? In my eyes if i cant find or figure something out within a few clicks, its over complicated and ends up being a useless piece of hardware. I currently own RC2, goxlr, and beacnmix create I really would like to start using RC2 but keep finding my self switching back to beacn mix create. Beacn and goxlr, got it right with the routing. So please rode, implant a streamers mode that has these added features which in return simplfys but still keeps the pro look. Maybe then Ill start using RC2 again. Until then, its sat gathering dust.(Sorry for sounding negative)
