Thanks Ravi. Very helpful because I found the same 50 Lt keg on the side of the road in very good condition and without your help I would have left it there. Too easy , Cheers Bro.

I have questions I’ve been scouring the internet to find so I’d rather not do the counter pressure method for filling the kegs because I am limited to funds so I was wondering if the kegs could be depressurized disassembled filled then reassembled and have it’s same function? I was also wondering if the function could work with a thicker liquid and not just beer would love to hear back from you

I have one of these types of kegs which I need to depressurise. So do I just slowly twist the top like you did until all the gas is gone to release the pressure?

What was that you when grinding at the end?

That was that little tab that stops spears coming out. When you cut it off it will just screw in out like normal thread.

Thanks for this video. If you're looking to open this keg it does work well, however mine was an older keg full of beer....the pliers didn't work and we used a tyre wrench to push down and turn.
If you're doing this, please take the pressure off like the video to avoid a spear in the head or dangerous projectile. You know the keg is depressurised when the hissing sound stops. The angle grinder at the end is so you can put the keg back together because it's a locking mechanism.

Hi mate. What is the purpose of grinding the tab off? Thanks.

mxvidz its a lock that prevent spear coming out. If you cut it out then you should be able to screw spear in and out.

Thanks mate, the ole pull up bit got me, took me a bit though, made a bit of mess with the pliers trip to pull and twist, hopefully the rubber still seats ok..

You are crazy unscrewing that while the keg is still pressurized, wearing flip flops, but safety glasses. My guy, your life is more important.

I make sure it’s depressurised before I opened it. Thanks for your concern!
