Cooper was never granted a medical red shirt. Shannon could've sat him out all of 2010 but gave him spot duty for a measly 35 carries instead. Both of these teams were undersized and had no business in the top 25. Looked like Div. II ball out there at times. Seniors Randy Phillips, Javaris James and Sam Shields were the last remnants of the NFL caliber mid-2000 players to come from UM. Some Shannon players landed successfully in the NFL but almost all began as projects that needed tons of work.
