17:34 I´m glad that you are showing us how to build your own modular engine controller because I don´t just want to use stuff other people made, even if it is more efficient...
Hey 454ss could you maybe make a video about carrer and classic modes about overhauls/rework? They need reworks and additions badly i know not a lot of people play it but i think its amazing to see how well your builds work and since you are a bigger Stormworks youtuber they might take it into consideration. I already have some ideas but im not really going to write them all here. Thanks!
26:00 I actually managed to make an ECU with the AFR Formula that corrects Air and Fuel to keep an AFR of 14, whatever RPM the engine has. What I didn't find out yet was how to maximize the engine efficiency value. That one is kinda magic to me. Edit 33:30 oh, there it is, haha
Thank you, I came for this information right at 4:40. I watched a few other videos and they didn't really explain this part in clear detail. Definitely going to bookmark this and refer back to it as I continue learning the game.
Hi mr 454ss! Its me, This is the best day! This os ehat i wanted sooo badly! PLEASE post this engine and microcontroller on the workshop to save other people's time that can't make it! I will get to making it rn! Thx❤.
Hi 454ss! Thank you for ALL the videos, they are awesome! I particularly like the idea of an actual Engineer with experience taking the time, not only building but sharing the whole process (more often than note, when I try to ad the game to others, the reaction is "it's more like work than a game!") Two things: - Could you do a comparison analysis with 1x1 vs 3x3 vs 5x5 cyl modular motors too? Almost all documentation or videos are about 1x1, but eg. larger ships might use 5x5 or trains 3x3. I'd be very interested what you find. - There is a workshop microcontroller, called "Stacking graph", which is VERY useful to visualize numbers and trends. I suggest you try it. (sorry, can't link it, YT deleted my post already once because of the URL to the Steam Workshop) Keep up the good work! Looking forward to more videos!
"We are not going to get complex with the ECU" I really hope im not the only thicky out here that will need to watch a few times and take note as I watch the video....... Have to say THANK YOU so much for your time and effort on explaining so much to a thicky like me haha.
For a basic microcontroller, wouldn't you have wanted a rps limiter as well. Of course it's easily addable but maybe for the people who don't want to touch this controller at all? Love the video and creation as always though 😊
Finally you make my dream come true some good information clear and easy speaking for myself of course hope you upload that engine with the microcontroller in case I I don't want to make the microcontroller
Hey I don't know if you'll see this any time soon but at 37:32 when you were talking about how we can change the AFR to what works best I tried doing it and when ever I have my throttle at max it always says 27% efficiency no matter how much I change the AFR, the efficiency is only different when I have the throttle lower than max, which still is only like 60% efficiency. is their any way to fix this? I will look for ways myself assuming you don't answer by the time I fix it but it would help, and one thing I am also having trouble on is for some reason when I connect my engine to my wheels via enclosed pipes they don't wanna move, I changed my clutch pressure up and down I changed my gears and my vehicle doesn't want to budge. and the only stuff I could find on how to fix is people saying to connect the wheels using pipes which I did, is their any thoughts you could give on this?
Hey, you forgot to put fluid in the cooling loop. Since the update of the modular engines there isn't any fluid in any system unless you put a tank in between which contains the right type of fluid. But I love this tutorial, I always struggle with modular engines and how to control them.
So the problem i'm having is that i've just spent the last 6ish hour going through this bit by bit and the engine won't fully start, it gets to 3.89 rps and dies every time. I don't know if i'm the problem and just something or i've got bug that wont allow modular engines to run properly.
when I increase my throttle, some cylinders suddenly get an insanely high air fuel ratio (Around 16000), it only happens to certain cylinders and not all of them, and only when I increase the throttle higher that 0.2 (idle), is it an issue and how would I fix it?
I got an engine workingf using this tutorial but only the set of cylinders on the right that are directly connected to the fuel are running, air is on the left side and it is being supplied but it wont run.
Just a reminder that is entirely possible for you to put together an engine perfectly and get the cooling bug which there is nothing you can do besides making a new vehicle. I've tested it and it has something to do with the save file of the vehicle. Its seems to be completely random as to which creations the bug affects but I've gone and made the same exact engine with the same cooling loop across several different save files and some of them work fine and the others have the cooling bug. This is likely never going to be fixed since this has been an issue with modular engines since they were added.
Just noticed this was from 4 weeks ago, Can you add a RPM Limiter? I love this ECU So far, so simple and so elegant, Just needs to limit its RPM so the engine don't fire pistons out
Apparently I can't share a link to my micro controller. I got a video on my channel with a link to it. Please look at my ecu. It's a 1x3, doesn't care if you use forced induction or not, doesn't care if you crank the air throttle up and down really fast or change the amount of air being pumped in and internally it's about half of the logic or less than you have in this controller.

+1 will be great to bring some light for these game modes. Maybe finaly fix the fuel issue when multiple fluid tanks are connected
FINALLY! After the YEARS of updates most info out there was outdated. Now i can finally scale Engines how i want em'.

You are awesome. I've had this game for a couple of years and played it on and off but this has helped me understand microcontroller so much better.
Glad you are enjoying the videos, and thanks for the support!

for boats is there a way to add brakes to either the boat itself or the props? like a reverse clutch almost
Yup!

the best totorial i have ever seen thank u
For some reason i made the same set up but as an inline 6 version but my RPS keeps falling to 0 not sure what I missed to cause this.

Engines are less efficient at higher rpms

Id say try slapping another starter on it or see if your fuel is connected
anyway to get rid of the radiator and cool it another way that is smaller
I wish! Some people get away without a radiator if they keep the RPS low enough aka "fake aircooled"
You could do a pump system pumping up water
How do you know what to place to get to the thing you want it to do?

Make sure you connect it via manifold!

I think that best ration starts from 13.8 end's at 14.1,i get 80% to 90% efficent with that ration
+dont forget to use gears ,it adds a bit of efficiency to engine
@@ВалераВалов-о7зDo you have a specific gear ratio you recommend?

There is a bug with the latest update! It will be fixed soon!
I wish you could make the cars like, genuine 1 to 1,
everything is just a little too big,
you stall when you break hard is because you dont dis-engage your clutch.
