Hey mate, I'm an old Australian bloke who's been watching a young fella named Taj Farrant for a few years now. He's just started to come into his singing voice and has been playing guitar since he was 7. He's probably already better than most guitar players but not as polished as some. Nevertheless check out some of his stuff just for your own sake, because 😢is definitely going to be at least as good as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore and those type of legends. I enjoy your reactions and wish you all the best in the future, good on you mate 👍
His use of heavy gauge strings makes his playing even more impressive. His guitar tech had to super glue his finger nails back on occasionally. Great player.
I was lucky enough to meet Stevie after his last concert at the Greek theater in LA. For a change of pace, give a listen to RIVERIA PARADISE from the Live in Austin "89.
That little bit at the end was the beginning of "Couldn't Stand the Weather." You should listen to that one too. My favorite version is from the 1985 concert at the Capitol Theatre. Reese really fires it up on the keys on that one too.
“Mary Had a Little Lamb” from this concert!!!! Also if you haven’t yet, “Tin Pan Alley” featuring Stevie Ray and Johnny Copeland! Some deep Blues! Thanks for the Stevie love.
Keyboardist is Reese Wynans, currently touring as part of Joe Bonamassa's band. He was originally in the band that later became the Allman Brothers Band. "Wynans was a member of the Second Coming, which from November, 1968 to March, 1969 included two future and founding members of The Allman Brothers Band: guitarist Dickey Betts and bassist Berry Oakley. Other band members were Dale Betts, Larry Reinhardt, and John Meeks. Wynans was involved in the initial jam session with Duane Allman, Betts, Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jaimoe that led to the formation of the Allman Brothers Band, but was eased aside in favor of vocalist Gregg Allman, as founder Duane Allman did not want two keyboardists, two guitarists, and two drummers all in the same band".
When Eric Clapton fist heard Stevie Ray Vaughn,he allegedly said who is this playing lead guitar while playing ehythm at the same time,he was a big fan of Stevie and played on stage wirh Stevie and Buddy Guy the night of his death in the helicopter crash!
Funny thing is that his band (two guys)( key boardist is not always there ) is called Double Trouble.....but SRV was Double Trouble when he 'plays" and then "sings " Peace & Love
My lovely wife of 35 years and I couldn't decide between Love Struck Baby or Pride and Joy for our "Wedding Song" at our reception - SO, we played 'em both! RIP SRV - you were a once in a generation talent!! Peace - Polo!
Glad you were so blown away by the masterful Reese Wynans organ solo. I call this performance "the rare SRV track where somebody besides Stevie Ray plays the best solo 8n the song."
This is from the 1989 appearance on Austin City Limits. If you check out the entire show you will see several impressive keyboard solos by Reese Wynans.
SRV’s radio hits were Fire! CD - “Couldn’t Stand the Weather - got me a couple speeding tickets. Cold Shot Couldn’t Stand the Weather Pride and Joy Crissfire
This was the very first tune I ever heard from SRV and Double Trouble on MTV way back when. Definitely in my top faves from them. This tune has it all, including the amazing Reese on the keys. His fingers run up n down those keys like a dancing spider. And Stevie's jazzy solo just gets your shoulders swaying. It all looks so effortless to him. You're so right when you said he puts his heart n soul n sweat in music. Just in a class by himself, gives all he's got and then more. As another commenter mentioned, the very end of that number was the beginning of another...so treat yourself to "Couldn't Stand the Weather", Capital Theatre. You'll be glad you did. As always, your SRV reaction is on point. ☮️to all.
My Mom came walking in, said “You’re listening to SRV…”. I watched him bend strings one time until he literally broke one on stage & they had to pass him another guitar, in mid song, one time! She said listen to “Lil Sista” for some classic prime SRV
First time watching one of your Reactions. Very good. Been a SRV fan for many years but never heard this version. Wow! Fantastic! That keyboard solo was totally unexpected and totally awesome.
Reese Wynans is the keyboard guru. He's put out some albums. The band had to really watch Stevie because he improvised on every song, never playing the same solo.
Everybody is amazed at Stevie. Yes, he is amazing. But if you were around at that time, this was the standard. This is what we were used to. And people didn't appreciate it enough. Stevie was successful, but he didn't sell out huge stadiums. In fact, I saw him in some pretty small venues. Just goes to show that musical taste of the general population runs wide, not everybody digs the same stuff. BTW, SRV is one of my guitar heroes.
The MTV video of this tune is hilarious! Watch on for your entertainment! Stevie, Chris, Tommy and Reese were truly brothers had a lot fun! Great song! They all gave more than 100% when they performed! They played together for 14 years until that fatal accident Reese the keyboardist was with them 10 years I believe they were all awesome human beings! Glad I was blessed to jam with them on a few occasions!!! RIP Stevie you are missed your music 🎶 is still touching the world my friend you know this though! 😊🫶🎸🍁🦃☀️🌵🇺🇸🙏
Another fun fact Stevie didn’t believe in set lists! They band knew just by Stevie’s little riffs at the beginning what he was going to do! Chris Layton went on to play with the Hendrix Experience Tommy Shannon the bass player is still playing and Reese Wynans on the keys toured with Joe Bonamasso not sure on the spelling another amazing guitar player! Just a little info on how they carried on after Stevie passing away. They all were phenomenal musicians! Stevie’s older brother Jimmie is still playing as well as his nephew great guitar player!
I just kinda stumbled upon your channel. It's great and I like your interaction and appreciation. I live in Austin and had the luxury of seeing him live more times than I can count. Before the world knew him. Needless to say he cut his chops in Austin with his brother Jimmy Vaughn. I use to see him at this place called the Rome Inn. If you think he blows you away on a single song. You should watch th video (I have the DVD) "Stevie Ray Vaughn And Double Trouble Live from Austin, Texas. The video you just watched of Cold Shot is from that performance. Stevie absolutely tears it apart over and over. Ever song. It's truly a performance you must see.
You should check out: Dirty Pool Live at Montreaux 1982; Tin Pan Alley Live at Montreaux 1985 with Johnny Copeland; Riviera Paradise, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Tightrope, Crossfire, Look at Little Sister, Couldn't Stand the Weather all Live at Austin 1989; Love Struck Baby, Ain't Gonna Give Up On Love Live at Daytona Beach 1987; Life Without You Live at Nashville 1987 ( a lot of people recommend the Capitol Theater version of this song, but after getting clean and sober the message in Nashville is closer to his heart).
Polo when you get a chance check out Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Vaughn and pipeline you will really enjoy this but do not take your eyes off of it or blink for one minute
Just stumbled on your videos. Love what I have heard. SRV “Life By The Drop” is amazing. Look at JJ Grey & MoFro, Jonny Lang and Marc Broussard. I had never heard of them and saw them live. I think all three of them are worth a listen to.
Marc Broussard's "Home" is a great place to start or his covers of "These Arms of Mine" & "Cry to Me"( I keep a tab open on my browser with the acoustic one with his dad, so I don't have to search, it's always there). Another soulful singer you can add to your list...Teddy Swims - Let Me Love You (Mario Cover)
He's up there with Jimi Hendrix at the top tier, imo. Sorry I never caught him live; had many chances but put it off then it was too late. I would recommend next doing "Texas Flood" and "Voodoo Child."
Remember the MTV vid where he’s in hospital after being dragged all over town by his wife’s car… and they revive him by plugging a guitar cord into his vein!?! Love SRV around here near his honsy
That was Reese Wynans on keys. Stevie didn't write this one but it is the original version. Always do Stevie LIVE....studio doesn't do him justice. Reese is playing with Joe Bonamassa last I l looked. Joe is also a great guitarist....you oughta check him out!
If you ever do the Beatles, start with, A Hard Days Night, I Feel Fine, Help, Drive My Car, Paperback Writer, Another Girl, Eight Days A Week, Back in the USSR, album cuts, and so on!
Oh man. I wish i could send you a list of the 'roots' of much of the music you listen to. For stevie ray vaughan take Rory Gallagher, Beatles, take some Kinks. For early bob dylan take Woody Guthrie. I could go on and im sure your mind would be blown 🙂. Love your chanell dude !
If you're grooving on SRV, be sure to check out Robert Cray and Eric Clapton, who thankfully did NOT get in the helicopter with Stevie on that fateful day in 1990.
Every time I see Stevie Ray Vaughan play, it brings a tear to my eye! He learned from Jimi Hendrix and became better than Jimi Hendrix. He was the greatest guitar player of all time I'm 61 years old. try Gary Moore
Hey mate, I'm an old Australian bloke who's been watching a young fella named Taj Farrant for a few years now. If SRV doesn’t make you smile. you don’t have a soul
Makes you wonder what more he could have done had he not passed at such a young age !
That’s tight...the GOAT, with Double Trouble! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
His organ player definitely has funk in his soul!

Hay love your reaction to Stevie he was the goat. Check out the sky is crying.
70 year old here requests more Stevie Ray Vaughan! Just subscribed because of this reactions… yippie!
I never get tired of listening to SRV !
One of the songs that radio stations would play
"Pride and Joy" is a great one by SRV. You really can't go wrong listening to ANYTHING he did!
You think that’s one of his greatest? It’s a nice tune, but dude you don’t know your ass from a whole in the ground. Dude🤨
Absolutely love that tune !
I played that song so many times at guitar hero I am kinda thru with it lol but, you are right, it is a very nice song and he died too early. RIP SRV
You can't not groove to SRV and DT. Just absolute Gods, the lot of them. Such a heartbreaking loss.
He plays with his entire being, doesn't he? His whole body is in motion; his heart and soul permeate his performance.
His use of heavy gauge strings makes his playing even more impressive. His guitar tech had to super glue his finger nails back on occasionally. Great player.
I love how Reese Wayans points at Stevie Ray as if to say " I've just done my part, you go ahead"!
Thank you for keeping Stevie Ray's memory alive. 🙏
No one notices that he plays just as well right or left handed and behind his back right and left handed. Awsome
I was lucky enough to meet Stevie after his last concert at the Greek theater in LA. For a change of pace, give a listen to RIVERIA PARADISE from the Live in Austin "89.
I love seeing people fall in awe with Stevie. : ) What's incredible is each song is better than the next.
That little bit at the end was the beginning of "Couldn't Stand the Weather." You should listen to that one too. My favorite version is from the 1985 concert at the Capitol Theatre. Reese really fires it up on the keys on that one too.
Agree. That is such a great performance!!
Scuttle Buttin’ SRV!
Clapton said SRV was like an open channel, music poured out of him, never played a song the same way twice
“Mary Had a Little Lamb” from this concert!!!! Also if you haven’t yet, “Tin Pan Alley” featuring Stevie Ray and Johnny Copeland! Some deep Blues! Thanks for the Stevie love.

Your grin, grew deeper as Stevie scratched🙏In the words of Bruce Willis..."Welcome to the party Pal." Much love Brother😎🇺🇸
My lovely wife of 35 years and I couldn't decide between Love Struck Baby or Pride and Joy for our "Wedding Song" at our reception - SO, we played 'em both! RIP SRV - you were a once in a generation talent!! Peace - Polo!
You married well. Congrats!
SRV was so talented LOVED his stuff such a shame we lost him so young
Glad you were so blown away by the masterful Reese Wynans organ solo. I call this performance "the rare SRV track where somebody besides Stevie Ray plays the best solo 8n the song."
❤SRV. RIP🌹
This is from the 1989 appearance on Austin City Limits. If you check out the entire show you will see several impressive keyboard solos by Reese Wynans.
The Goat ❤ Thank you,SRV (RIP) LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, LOVE YOU, ROCK ON AND ROCK HARD 💯✌️🤘🥰
listen to the way that rhythm section kicks in at the beginning of this song - to fill out this groove - they are so very underrated
Grew up on Stevie Ray Vaughn in the 70,and 80's along with Santana and Jimi Hendrix.
SRV was a beast. A beast. His brother still plays to this day. He’s pretty good himself.
SRV’s radio hits were Fire! CD - “Couldn’t Stand the Weather - got me a couple speeding tickets.
Cold Shot
Couldn’t Stand the Weather
Pride and Joy
Crissfire
The BADDIEST AND GREATEST TO EVER PLAY A GUITAR !!! DOUBLE TROUBLE THE BADDIEST BAND EVER !! SRV WAS A BEAST !!
I watch this video often just because of the organ player!
I once lived near Antone's in Austin. Was able to see Reese play that organ regularly.
LOVE ME DARLIN. FROM LIVE FROM AUSTIN CITY LIMITS , HAD THE HONOR OF SEEING HIM PERFORM THIS BACK IN THE DAY.
Love this classic SRV.

My Mom came walking in, said “You’re listening to SRV…”. I watched him bend strings one time until he literally broke one on stage & they had to pass him another guitar, in mid song, one time! She said listen to “Lil Sista” for some classic prime SRV
You can almost see Stevie’s soul @7:03 (you can clearly hear it) hope you feel it too...

Lenny at El Macombo is guitar magic!

❤❤❤ Stevie was absolutely mesmerizing. What a huge loss to the music world.
Great reaction!!!! I think you would really like SRV Life Without You live from The Capitol Theater!!!
SRV’s version of Voodoo Child from the same set is worth a view. It’s on TH-cam.

If a guitar solo could cut a man's throat, it would be that one. Good God a'mighty.
Just like you shouldn't miss ANY Led Zep, same for SRV, it's ALL good! I like your style on these reactions, man, subscribed.
He's up there with Jimi Hendrix at the top tier, imo. Sorry I never caught him live; had many chances but put it off then it was too late. I would recommend next doing "Texas Flood" and "Voodoo Child."
This is redo for me! Another you should watch is “Skuttle Buttin”! Thanks Polo
I mean Jimi Hendrix will always be the 🐐 in my eyes but Stevie made a damn good argument on contesting that throne🔥
Remember the MTV vid where he’s in hospital after being dragged all over town by his wife’s car… and they revive him by plugging a guitar cord into his vein!?! Love SRV around here near his honsy
