Hi, I just want to tell you I have learned so much from you not only about individual annuals but the containers.. You are the person I always wish was standing around at the garden centers that I could sit and talk their ear off for a while. I watch a ton of Garden TH-cam videos and love Laura at Garden Answers you are my second favorite!!!!! Most people come to places like yours and want to be successful with the flowers they buy but may be too shy to ask or the people don't know the details that you are provided with your videos. Thanks so much from Massachusetts.
Glad you’re finding the info useful. This time of year is tough at garden centers as well because they’re so busy. I find most people in this industry are happy to answer questions… and if you find a place where you get answers - that’s where you want to return to again and again 🙂
The Containers look fabulous! Looking forward to seeing how they do throughout the season. I really like the container videos you’ve been doing. I love the Rockin Blue Suede Shoes as well as the Rockin Fuchsia and Deep Purple. I usually plant them in the landscape and def attract hummingbirds! I worked on a town project and planted the Rockin Fuchsia in planters downtown…. Fingers crossed they do well!!
You inspired me to plant my first multi-plant container yesterday! 😆 Also, I've actually been fertilizing like I should because of your awesome demonstrations and my flowers are looking better than they ever have! Thank you for all of your wonderful info! Love from West Virginia ✌🏽
Hi Corey,I just love these containers I am someone who loves geraniums those colors are beautiful 😍 I have been thinking about Cana's I honestly didn't think they could do good in a pot !i clipped some geraniums from my mums courtyard the other day and now I think I have a great idea for some new containers. And I have to tell you i transplanted a bunch of my pots and their not stuffed and their gigantic so I believe that you don't need 100 plants!😂in a container. As always beautiful plantings and a wealth of information and easy instructions.Have a wonderful day!
One of the plants you introduced me to was superbena. I underplanted Hollywood Hibiscus with these in hot Florida sun. They are a revelation. 21” pot spectacular show - especially when no open hibiscus.
First, you are absolutely right about leaving space to grow for the cannas. I grew it for the first time last year, and it's roots started to buldge out the side of the pot close to fall. It was a salmon pink, and I overwintered it in the garage and replanted it in a 20 inch container this spring, and it's huge and blooming again. My picture on my phone is of that canna flower. That lobelia is so beautiful. I am only seeing Techno, and I have gotten several this year as I try it for the first time here in hot Atlanta. Hope it makes it. Question: Why do you put the Osmocote on the top of the soil instead of in the bottom of the planting hole? I have always put it in the bottom, but maybe I shouldn't have? Today I will be planting Gardenmeister fuschia with white Techno lobelia to see how it does. The Firecracker Fuschia with the variegated leaves is doing great so far with overhead sun from 12-4. You make me want to get some of that salvia, but I have a lot of other varieties, and I just found a Wendy's Wish yesterday that I had several of last year and highly recommend for large pots for hummingbirds. Oh, there's a hummingbird now...
You can mix the Osmocote in the soil… I just like to keep track of it visually. As long as it can get to the roots it’s good - gravity will pull it down for me. Thanks for sharing your faves.
Hello! Love the videos watch them all the time. Quick question for you! I just seen your video where you said your sister puts iron pellets down around the base of plants because of your water PH. I also have the same problem do you have an idea of what those pellets are, like an ironite maybe??? Thanks aton!
We use a granule product from HiYield -- there are other brands available as well... some are granules, some are liquids. You'd have to check with the manufacturers if you're looking for exactly what they're made of.
We get our soil in bulk, so I don't have a recommendation for that. I use a water-soluble fertilizer like MiracleGro, Jack's, Beat Your Neighbor, or Proven Winners every week.
Where do you get the large containers? I’m working to beautify the downtown and place them on the sidewalks. It seems companies will not ship because of the huge size of the pots.
@@UpNorthGardenMI we were looking around in the spring. Checked with our local greenhouse and they said the size we wanted to get the vendor wouldn’t ship.
You always inspire me with your plant combinations!! They are soooo beautiful!!!
Beautiful. Thx Zone 10 here

Does anyone ever want to hear they are second?
@nangel270 I’m 100% okay with being #2… especially if #1 is Laura 😍

I always learn so much from your videos. The pots look great! What would you recommend for a semi-shade jumbo pot?

What soil do you use for this big planters and also fertilizer of choice.

@@UpNorthGardenMI Thank you for replying. Love this channel and all the great tips for flowers. 🌸
What soil do you use? What bagged soil do you recommend?
We buy our soil in bulk, so I’m not talk knowledgeable on soil brands.
Where do you get the large containers? I’m working to beautify the downtown and place them on the sidewalks. It seems companies will not ship because of the huge size of the pots.
You should check with your local nursery to see if they can order them for you. Most places order July-Oct for the following spring.
