Malls are probably the most economy sensitive real estate and the Rentals are exorbitant meaning that the type of mall you want is very expensive to build and the businesses occupying the spaces should sell their goods and services at a premium to afford the Rentals. Now with the state of the economy not so many people will be able to buy from such expensive shops which inturn may lead to their closure and the collapse of the whole Mall.
