    7:12 is so cute, watching Lucy play with her necklace. It’s something my mom and grandma would always do when I was wearing jewelry. That type of ease between them is more evidence of how close they were.

    Funny how overlooked she was for so long... She's so beautiful and even when she's not being funny, she still stands out!! She definitely deserved more attention than she got in the beginning, but She definitely demanded it in I love Lucy cuz she was amazing! I don't just love Lucy, I admire and will always love Lucy!

    Lucy did a corny movie in 1951 ("The Magic Carpet") and she was thrust into television immortality soon after

    • @LJ-ht4zs
      @LJ-ht4zs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Magic Carpet was the world's worst movie - she was fulfilling a contract - think she had to make it in a few weeks - and she was pregnant with her daughter Lucie Arnaz. (as Desi said, when Lucy was pregnant and he gestured like she was a whale) every week the fitting people had to let out her costume.) Funny story and it took guts to make the world's worst movie- truly awful. She was happy to be pregnant, happy to have fulfilled her contract and that was that! I am sure that movie did not make a dime, but she did.

    I'm a fan of Lucille Ball. I have most of her DVD's. But almost at the end of this video--->17:14 it begins to get sad for me. As I watch this almost at the end it brought me to tears. I have always wanted to meet Lucille Ball years ago when I was a teen, and she was alive and well. But I never did. It was a shock to me when I heard she passed away. :'( :(

    I've just noticed something ... there's an inconsistency in Carol's story about how she and Lucy met.
    Initially she said,
    'I made the mistake of looking out the curtain, and in the 2nd row, there was Lucy, red hair, all lit up'
    Then, the next time she reminisced, it was
    '.. word made it back stage that Lucy was in the audience'
    Trivial distinction yes, but a noticable one

    • @nothisispatrick6332
      @nothisispatrick6332 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe she meant that once word got back stage, she made the mistake of actually confirming for herself that Lucy was in fact there.

    This is nice because if Carol Burnett liked her so much she must have been a nice person. I have read several times comments from TH-camrs claiming that she was a horrible bitch on planes, treated the stewardesses and passengers so rudely. I have always hoped that wasn't true because it would be so disappointing, as I always loved Lucy so much.
