- Today is the day! We’re getting a new driver for 2024! Will we have a new cheating stick on our hands with the Ping G430 10k Max or will we have a TaylorMade, Cobra or Callaway driver in the bag for 2024?

You should go to SGGT for a fitting. They have such a large selection of shafts and heads that American golf don’t. It will definitely help your driving and be even more accurate on the course.
I just upgraded from the Cobra LTD Driver to the Cobra Aerojet. I always stay a year behind in model to save money! 😀 The Aerojet is a bomber of a club and i would imagine so is the darkspeed. I dont think there would be too much of a difference in numbers though.
Ping drivers have always been superior. It's not advertised but the Ping G400 7 years ago was already a 10k moi. They just hit the ball so straight. Surprised you changed and will guarantee a ping driver will be back in the bag soon.
Your correct mate ..this 10k thing this year is just bollox marketing it's been around for a few years the g425 has 9995k moi 🤯🤯🤷🤷 we are sucked in by this marketing and launch monitor numbers ....5-7 yds on a monitor is not noticeable on the course and your std deviations will override all of it ...a fitting they reckon 5 10 shots your fit ..as your speed drops off and people then try and beat numbers as are seduced by the distances
Always feel American golf just don’t have the shafts that you need at that speed it’s just a best guess. It’s impossible to say exactly what the best club is going to be. It’s practically a pointless fitting. Also no point looking at total distance you should focus on carry only imo 🤷🏼♂️
This is why i stay away from American golf for clubs. I have high speed so have an X Stiff, they barely have X and just overall not the option compared to a local smaller business. I also feel like American golf do try to force sales more than the small business by me. So that's why i will always support small local businesses. They sort me out with deals and discounts because they want that returning customer. So yea i agree stay away from American Golf. 👍👍

Standard weight in 430 is 25 gms gaz not 12 gms, go somewhere where they know what they are doing
Are the shafts that come in all the new drivers the "real" shafts? Some of these shafts cost hundreds on their own.

I did a similar test with very close results. Although the PING 10k speed was slower in my shootout - I just couldn't move it as fast as good as it was.. Went with Qi10, BUT, saw no difference in dispersion between the standard head and LS mode, so I went Qi10 LS. The LS had a few crazy long outliers with no forgiveness issues. Thanks for the shootout.
Nothing between the drivers really, just all about confidence. Could tell you wanted the Taylormade before you started. I was the same
Most forgiving driver this year for sure ,,Taylormade have made a great driver this yr.

I struggled to get the spin down on the qi10 and I was gutted as I loved it just spin and launch was too high
You should use the same shaft in each driver otherwise it almost makes the whole comparison pointless as your not comparing apples with apples. No wonder your ping has a tighter dispersion… because it has your shaft in. Would be good to see your normal shaft in the Ai Smoke Max
Not really cause the same shaft doesn’t always work across all manufacturers
@@steve827depends if you stick to stock shafts, in my opinion Ping shafts are dreadful.

Qi10 Max isn't wrong because of your speed. You'd just have to adjust the loft. Take a look at Chris Ryan. Hits it a lot faster, got fitted for the max 9 degree, set to I think 7 and it performed better than the core and LS. I would prob tinker with it a bit and if I could get one of the max versions working, I'd take that extra forgiveness :D

How are you finding the Qi10 a few days in now?
Ping G430max is going back in your bag within 6 weeks. I've tested everything (major brands) and the TM isn't anywhere near as forgiving. You will miss the spin from the g430max as that's the biggest factor when It comes to forgiveness. The 10k although higher MOI is not as forgiving as the max due to the spin drop, although still more forgiving than everything else out there. I don't think TM is bad, definitely faster however not worth the gain for loss of forgiveness. Good luck with it, your swing progression has been unreal 👌
How can you try all them we out trying any of the titleist
I’ve seen literally every review video on the standard Qi10 and it just wins every match up. I went to the range and hit it and it blew away my old stealth 2. It’s just so much more forgiving but still really long!
I was told by a tour fitter, he knows what shaft and club after 5 shots, the AiSmoke numbers were not representative based on how many balls you had hit. Should have made a short list of 3 and played 9 holes hitting all 3 outside, taking a launch monitor with you.
You know the ping works, you've just shown you're gaining next to nothing, keep with it or get back to a custom fit where you got the original from.

I wonder which brand American golf were offering their employees commission on during the time this was shot. Give me 8 yards back but in the fairway over 8 yards further up but in the rough all day.
Best driver out there at the moment , picked 10ish meters . But my misses are soft fades which keep me in play. Team taylormade

tried & tested all new drivers in the 10k category and none would get me to switch from my TSR3 not even close.

Went and got fitted and tryed all the new drivers and none come close to the titleist tsr it even felt much better off the face than the calloway cobra and taylormade and the stats compared where like night and day titleist will always be the daddy of clubs

Regrettably Imo you've made the wrong choice ...your handicap has dropped massively using the ping, the gain with the taylormade was no more than 8 yards . American golf champ saying 10 yards further but in the rough is better than being 10 yards less but on the fairway screams salesman BS.
Time will tell ,but I bet you will be back with ping before August.
