      @@AnastasiaMily my son is coming back to Australia for a holiday from Victoria over that way so I’m going to get him to buy me some paints before he comes to give them a try. If I get him to get about 6 watercolour can you suggest must haves please. I want to try what you do. I’m just amateur but enjoy it. Thank you in advance. Shirley Australia

      @@shirleybryant8725 I have only used a handful of Rockwell paints (they sent me a few tubes to try) and some I liked and some I didn't. From the ones I liked (and still use), I can recommend Payne's Grey, Burnt Sienna, Mars Brown, Alexandria Diamond, Lumi Green Brown and Cleopatra Green. I think they have released new colours recently but I have no experience with those. Hope this helps!

    New to your channel and also a new beginner at painting. I'm trying to figure out what my style will be. I really like your style of painting as others have said this picture is very moody but so beautiful and you make it look so easy.

    Thank you! What is the tiny point red handle brush?

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s called a needlepoint brush, very useful for creating loose irregular lines (like tree branches). I love this brush!

    Very beautiful! I’m not familiar with the term self evolving. What does it mean?

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! Different brands call paints like these one differently, for example Schmincke have a range of paints they named "super granluating", and Rockwell called them "self-evolving". A few pigments are mixed in the same tube, and most of those pigments are very granulating, so when you mix them with water they "split" on paper and create beautiful colour and texture effects.

    Are Self-Evolving paints the same as granulating paints?

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, not the same, I think Rockwell is the only brand that use the term "self-evolving". They combined multiple, often complementary to each other on colour wheel pigments into one colour, and these pigments separate on paper to create interesting colour effects. But all those paints are also granulating to add extra texture to the colour. So granulation is about texture and "self-evolving" is about colour.
