- Our triple trailer Tuesday a few weeks ago has led us to this moment. Finally seeing the Ruination trailer with Lucian and Senna. We were also recommended to watch the Ruined King as part of this saga so we tacked on a bonus reaction for all your League of Legends fans out there. Explanation of these trailers:
In the first cinematic, we see Lucian and Senna are confronted by the Ruined King, Viego. While alive, Viego’s wife Isolde was killed by an assassin, causing him to go mad with grief. In the process of trying to revive her, he accidentally caused a huge magic explosion which destroyed the Blessed Isles, leaving behind the Shadow Isles. Isolde’s soul was fragmented into several pieces scattered across Runeterra in the process, one of which Senna found as a little girl. The Black Mist acts as an extension of Viego’s will, searching for any remnant of Isolde’s soul, hence why it was drawn to Senna here (also, fun fact about Viego: he’s the canonical owner of the in-game item “Blade of the Ruined King,” which is the tank shredding item for fighters like Irelia).
The second cinematic introduces you to the characters you can play as in the Ruined King game. They are Miss Fortune (bounty hunter who became queen of Bilgewater after killing the pirate Gangplank in spectacular fashion), Illaoi (a priestess of the Kraken who preaches a philosophy of fulfilling one’s desires), Braum (a Freljordian folk hero who’s legend is that nothing can damage him), Ahri (a Vastayah, essentially an Elf, searching for any remnants of her lost tribe), Yasuo (a swordsman running from his past, acting as Ahri’s bodyguard here), and Pyke (a revenant killing the crew of a ship that betrayed him, though curiously, his list always seems to get longer). The game was delayed to give more time to polish it, but this had the side effect of killing the momentum of the Ruination storyline for League. Thankfully, it does look like we’ll get a ruination themed event in two weeks, given that new skins that are tied to this story just appeared on the PBE, League’s test server.
I wouldn't really call the vastayah "elfs", more like magical humanoids with animalistic traits.

Calling vastaya elves is very incorrect. Don't forget that Rengar and Wukong are also vastaya and they are very far from being elves.
Miss, surely didn't kill Gangplank, he just flat away from Bilgewater, as did in Freljord after Brand's birth, as he did many times before etc.
That guy with the big sword is Viego. He is one of newer champions in League of Legends. His origin story will probably be explored in that game they teasered with the second video. His story also might explain where the dark mist origins from and naturally creatures like Thresh. It is it's very own big story arch in League's world, which Riotgames is currently expanding on.
They’ve 100% already covered this, its a fluid connection of kalista, hecarim, yorick, etc respective stories.

If you remember in climb there was a scene with red haired girl and tentacles. The red hair girl was misfortune and the individual who spawns those tentacles is Illaio, the buff girl in the ruined king trailer.

the tiny badass is Poppy, she is a yordle her main line is "I'm no hero. I'm just a yordle with a hammer." her lore is that she is carrying the hammer while she is searching for the hero destined to wield it (even though i am 100% positive she IS that hero and doesn't realize it yet) some of her in game lines I enjoy are "Don't make my hammer angry." "The hammer does all the work, I just swing it." after buying an item in the shop "Yes, just like the hero would buy."

Long Story short : Viego is trying to collect all the soul fragments of his Wife Isolde and bring her back.
When Senna was a little girl she came along a shipwreck on the beach being curious she went to look around the shipwreck and found a little box, when she opened the box a glowing orb of light came out and basically became part of her till now ( that s why you can actually hear Isolde warning Senna about Viego being close in the video)
Another soul fragment was attached to a jukebox in Ionia where Viego went to check out and collect
When Isolde was alive she was a very good seamstress putting "her heart and soul" into creating the little dolly Gwen .. and if you catched my pun that s where the 3rd soul fragment went giving the little dolly life and becoming League of Legends newest champion added to the game.
Another little fun fact is that Gwen given life by her creator "Isolde" can actually use Hallowed Mist (White Mist) opposite to the Black Mist of Viego

PS : Forgot to mention Riot hinted something about being a total of 9 soul fragments to complete Isoldes soul and we only know about 3 till now
Fragments kind of reminds us of Horcruxs in Harry Potter but Gwen seems to be a good person. Fascinating story they are weaving here 😃
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Gwen wants to find Isolde (her maker) and some of her in game interactions show that she doesn't like Viego at all. Some say she is not as good as she seems because after all she was brought to life by Viego's black magic so there might be something we don't know about her. Also, one the newest skins related to this ruination event called Sentinel of light Vayne (the girl with crossbow who helps the little yordle with giant hammer) has a voice line where she says she knows Gwen is not as nice as she looks.

Big story here that I'm sure someone'll conveniently explain in the comments. The lore of League is entirely disconnected from the gameplay (of the online game anyway) but it's pretty good (I still follow it even though I don't play the game anymore). There's a Netflix animated series set in the League universe coming in Fall called Arcane (there's trailers for that too if you want to react), you guys should give it a watch :]

İn the first video, the woman who has a green outfit is Karma. She is from Ionia. (Sorry, I don't know about her so much.) The tiny girl with a war hammer is Poppy. She is a yordle (a species of League of Legends world). She is looking for a hero to protect Demacia. (But she doesn't know she is the actual hero.) The girl with an crossbow is Vayne. Her parents was killed by a lust demon named Evelynn. Then she turned into a merciless demon hunter. The girl with a sword and a gun is Samira. She is a mercinary who is originally from Shurima. But her homeland was attacked by Xerath and his army. Then she moved with her family to Noxus.

Ah okay. We saw Miss Fortune briefly in shadow embrace in the water. Cool to see her in another video because backstory we heard on her is cool 😎
So the Ruined King game trailer is the first time we ever got to see Viego, the Ruined King himself, in person, after the story of the Shadow Isles and the Black Mist and the Ruined King had existed in the lore for YEARS. Definitely a hype moment. The game was initially set for release early 2021 but got pushed back because of COVID, hopefully it should released before the end of the year.
Riot is currently building towards a massive event spanning across all their properties built around the Ruination and Viego's return that should be starting in the next couple weeks. The story of the world of League hasn't moved actively forward this much in a while and it's definitely pretty exciting!

Last week they released a new teaser trailer called "Fate of Demacia" to announce the new upcoming event that gonna expand the story of Ruination and The Ruined King. Being a teaser trailer is only 1'47'' long. I guess they gonna release more as the event is coming so you maybe want to wait until that and see all of them together.

Entertaining as usual! Another great little league series for yall to react to would be the Star Guardian video. Its a skinline in the game heavily based on Sailor Moon. There are 3 cinematics, their names in order are: Burning Bright, A New Horizon, Light and Shadow

The Yordle with the hammer is Poppy. She's the hero of Demacia but she doesn't know that she is.
The little badass as you said is Poppy she's a knight of Demacia that literally is as badass as she appears the yordle story is actually quite interesting
We saw some more in Tales of Runeterra and we definitely love us some Yordles 😍
I've been waiting for this!!! Alright *cracks knuckles*, here we go. The guy with the "Mileena face" actually wears a mask/bandana and his name is Pyke, needless to say that he's my favorite character as I named myself after him (but the Ozori part, I made up myself) .
His story in a nutshell is that he was employed in a district of Bilgewater called "Bloodharbor", after being a butcher, he managed to talk his way onto a ship where he became a harpooner. He hunted in a traditional way which involved him diving into the mouth of creatures and start butchering them while they were still alive (because certain organs had to be harvested fresh). He sailed with a new captain, jumped into the biggest creature's mouth he'd ever seen (this creature is called a Jaull-fish if you were wondering), started doing his work, he heard a deep vibration from the creature's gullet, more Jaull-fish came, started pushing against the boat. The captain cut Pyke's lifeline, the Jaull-fish he was in swallowed him alive, his crew did NOTHING to save him, the creature dived deep, Pyke died, was somehow resurrected. That's when he started getting visions of how he lost everything while others grew fat, he was filled with a thirst of vengeance and now he wants to fill the depths with the corpses of those who wronged him. Basically in his eyes everyone in Bilgewater wronged him so he's pretty much killing anyone, and became known as the infamous "Bloodharbor Ripper".
I absolutely just love everything about him, his outfit, lore, voice, gameplay, literally everything. His design is just so awesome! I could tell you a lot more about him but I don't want to take over the entire comment section.

Bet others will explain more in the coments, but things are about to get interesting since we will get a big event in two weeks. After the ruination starts covering many regions of the world many heroes will step up and be recruited to become Sentinels, like Lucian said here, they couldnt do it alone so they will bring a squad leaded by Senna to defeat Viego, its going to be awesome. Both Irelia and Riven will be Sentinels you have seen them before in Awaken too!
there is this little video called "made with love" very brief, but has a lil more insight on Viego, and his wife Isolde and more impotantly Gwen, a new character that also holds a fragment of Isolde's soul and will fight against the ruined king with Senna and the Sentinels

In the second video, the man with a shield is Braum. He is from a frozen land named Frelijord. He is a iceborn too. The guy who looks like Mileena is Pyke. He is from Bilgewater. He was betrayed by his crew. When he is drowning his crew didn't do anything for saving him. Then he was ressurected by a sea monster to take his revenge. (We still don't know who is that sea monster is.) The woman who has a dark skin is Illaoi. She is from Bilgewater too. She worships a god named Nagakaboruos. (I hope I wrote the name right.)

here is the history of the Shadow Isles (where all the spooky stuff comes from). So basically Thresh (or who he was as a human) was on the Blessed Isles protecting ancient evils etc. but growing more twisted each day. Meanwhile Kalista and Hecarim worked for Viego whose wife Isolde was poisoned. SO they went to the Blessed Isles to resurrect her and Thresh disguised himself as one of the helpers and led them to the waters (after he sat by and watched Hecarim and Viego kill all the Blessed Isle people) and had Viego dip Isolde in the waters. She was resurrected as a wraith and stabbed Viego, and the blessed waters mixed with the sword forming a death curse and creating the shadow Isles where everything is a wraith trapped between life and death. Hecarim became a grim reaper of evil but like a centaur, Thresh became a creepy chain warden spying on al the other wraiths for his own plans and messing with Senna and Lucian, and Kalista became a spirit of vengeance who hates all the other wraiths. A man named Karthus visited the island and became a lich wraith and master of death, but mostly does his own thing. Mordekaiser, a wraith necromancer from before the Shadow Isles, had his skull stored there so when he awoke he was more powerful and now is watching Viego and the others closely so they do not mess with his plans.

quick fact: Viego is from a forgotten kingdom and he was a really bad king, he fell in love with a humble seamstress with the name of Isolde and he married her, the kingdom was falling apart and the people tried to kill Viego with a poisoned dager but they missed and scratched Isolde, the venom killed her and Viego didnt accept the fact that she died, so that's why Viego is the Ruined KIng, destroying the world trying to get back to her.
So Viego was always evil it seems 🤔

Okey First things first
At the "Ruination" Trailer, you can see Senna and Lucian at the beginning and the one that talks to Senna with an ominous voice before Viego appears is Isolde (the wife of the ruined king and also the one who killed him in the first place) and like you obviously now that white haired guy is Viego the ruined king, the source of the black mist and former king of Kamavor (a kingdom of the past) and well what Viego wants and always wanted is to get his wife back what he has to do is to search all the pieces of her soul. That the main goal of the mist, find all the part of the soul of Isolde, then its supposed to stop attacking Runeterra (But i think he wont stop there), then you can see that the mist appears in a lot of different places first you see Noxus and you can see Darius (the guy with the axe that then fall under the control of Viego) and Samira she is Shuriman from born but she joined Noxus, then you see Dhara aka Karma (the woman that you also saw in Awaken that has that green thing in her back and that didn't fall under the control of Viego, then the BADASS girl you see with the Hammer its Poppy (she is a Yordle from Bandle Town by the way even if she sees Demacia more as her home, the same specie as Kennen the lightning ninja you saw in Awaken) and the woman that appears to help her is Vayne the monster hunter she is from Demacia. And Thresh he is ANOTHER specter from the mist and he is lower in scale to Viego.
And the Phrase that Lucian and Senna say is the motto of their Cult "The Light Sentinels" that is "We dont run from the darkness, we light the way"
Then at the Ruined King Trailer, you can see what i call the Suicide Squad of LoL since they travel to Helia (The Shadow Isle) to defeat Viego once and for all, the group is formed by Captain Miss Fortune from Bilgewater (the one you saw in your triple video day, the redhead pirate i mean), Yasuo and Ahri both from Jonia (Yasuo is the Samurai for Awaken the one that summons that tornado in that battlefield, and Ahri you saw her in the "New Dawn" Trailer and she is a Vastaya), then we have Pyke and Illaoi (Pyke is a specter from Bilgewater he hunts all that appears on his list from humans to gargantuan sea monsters, then Illaoi the High Priestess of the Buruu, their God is Nagakabouros a gigantic sea monster) and my personal favourite the Moustache himself Braum (Whose catchphrase is "If there is trouble you call BRAUM", he is from Freljord and he is an ally to Ashe the Leader of the Avarosan tribe).
We totally got that Suicide Squad vibe too! 😂😍

Ok i'll try to go through all the characters briefly and list them by their first appearance.
Ruination:
- Lucian and senna are part of the Order of the "Sentinels of Light" and protect the world from darkness. Senna was later killed by Thresh but Lucian rescued her from his lantern of souls (but i suppose you already knew that) and now they're looking to defeat the Ruined King and the Black Mist once and for all
- Viego used to be a king who came to the blessed isles to resurrect his dead queen, but the locals denied him because it would have grave consequences, so he had pretty much all of them killed in blind rage. He went through with the resurrection in the waters of life but the spirit of his queen was in agony because she wanted to stay dead, in her confused tantrum she killed viego with his sword and the clash of the magic of his blade and that of the waters of life caused a huge explosion that left the blessed isles in ruin and cursed with the black mist. (which viego is able to control)
- Samira (girl with the sword and eyepatch) was born in the desert lands of shurima but after her home was burnt down she went to the empire of noxus where she learned of the thrill of battle. Now she is pretty much a gun for hire in Noxus while being a huge badass and an unpredictable daredevil.
- Darius (buff knight guy with axe) grew up as an orphan with his little brother draven, whom he had to protect all the time because he was so reckless. This resulted in Darius having more battle experience and scars than most of the noxian soldiers by the age of 12. He joined the noxian military and quickly rose through the ranks due to his experience, strength and courage. He was named "The hand of Noxus" (a title given to the most loyal followers of the Noxian empire) and is right now the most respected general in the empire and has a seat in the Trifarix (practically the most basic form of a democracy you can have: 3 members each representing a social class and a core principle of noxus, Darius being representative of the people and representing the principle of might)
- Karma (lady with the green magic) is the spirit of the peaceful lands of Ionia. This spirit posessed the lady youre seeing in the cinematic, Darha. She is tasked with protecting Ionia in the most peaceful way possible, but when the noxian empire invaded karma intervened to save ionias people.
-Poppy (smurf with the hammer) is a yordle who was born even before the founding of the Demacian Kingdom (i know she does not look like it but shes technically about 250 years old). during the founding of demacia she met one of the founders of the kingdom, Orlon, who wielded a powerful hammer. They became close friends and when he died, he passed the Hammer on to her and tasked her with finding the true hero of Demacia, for only they are worthy to wield it. So Poppy is out on a mission to find that true hero, even though its terribly obvious that its Poppy herself.
- Vayne (invisible crossbow lady) grew up in Demacia with her Parents, who were brutally killed one night by a Demon. Ever since then she has recognized it as her duty to cleanse the world from dark magic, which sometimes includes killing innocent people because they have magical abilities.
Oh boy that was only the first one.
Ruined King:
- Sarah Fortune (redhead pirate lady) lived with her mother on an island, where they ran a weapons shop near bilgewater. One day the self proclamed pirate king of bilgewater called Gangplank raided their shop and killed her mother because he didnt want to pay for the guns he ordered. He even smashed them only to spite sarahs mother after her death. Sarah survived and rebuilt them, travelled to Bilgewater and "killed" Gangplank (he obviously survived because he is also a playable champion) and now tries to hold the balance between Bilgewaters Captains so the port city doesnt fall into EVEN MORE chaos.
- Illaoi (buff lady with the green tattoos) is a priestes of an ancient god called nagakebouros (my bad if I butchered that but you can also just call the god "the bearded lady") who believes life is all about motion and living it to its fullest. She and her God are currently helping Sarah Fortune by defending bilgewater against the black mist, even though Sarah killed her first love Gangplank (she doesnt seem to take it too badly tho, since her character is always about being in motion. As in she moved on from Gangplank)
- Braum (buff shield guy with the terribly fancy moustache) is a legend in the snowy lands of Freljord, always being there for people in need, even though they technically are not part of his tribe. But he believes that the Freljord is one big Family, even though it is currently split up into 3 combatting tribes (Avarosa, Winters Claw and the Frost Guard) which is why he helps Queen Ashe of the Avarosans to unify the Freljord.
- Ahri (fox lady) is a Vastaya (human/animal hybrid) from the lands of Ionia), who used to feed on the souls of people because thats what she had to do to survive. She regretted it every single time and wanted to go to a Garden where special Flowers grow (if you smell them you will forget about everything permenantly). She eventually decided against it and kept her memories so she can remind herself of her loss (forgot to mention she soul sucked her first love).
- Yasuo (guy with the Katana) is a warrior from ionia who has fallen from grace. He trained at a special temple with his brother Yone, which taught the wind technique. When the Noxian invasion happened Yasuo was eager to fight the invaders but was tasked with protecting a teacher, Elder Souma. Being young and reckless he still went to fight the noxians. When he returned Elder Souma was dead and he was blamed for the murder because he had been killed by the wind technique. He fled and his brother followed him. Yasuo killed Yone in a duel and went on to live the rest of his years in grief and regret until he found out that his brother is actually still alive. Having atoned for his deeds he leaves Ionia together with Ahri to find a new purpose in Bilgewater. (there is a 10 minute cinematic about this called "Kin of the stained blade" and its an absolute masterpiece, definetly recommend it)
- Pyke (Mileena guy) was a very efficient fisherman in bilgewater, but on one fatal mission he jumped to battle a moster in the sea but his crew cut his lifeline and left him to die because they were scared. pyke was resurrected by the magic of the monster and is now out on a revenge spree against the crew of the ship that killed him. He has a List of people that betrayed him but due to his warped perception the list never gets any shorter, because there are always more names appearing on the list and Pyke is imagining their faces on the ship, even though they most likely werent there at all.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames exactly, he also has a skin in the game where he was corrupted by viego called "ruined draven" which is confirmed canon. So at some point draven got mind contolled like darius in this cinematic, just that he seems to be under viegos control much longer, because there are some pretty massive changes to his design.

Don't know if it has already been said, here again my favorite moment. Viego (the guy with the big badass sword) lost his wife (Isolde) long ago (thousand year if i remember well) and trying to get her back, he cursed an entire civilisation (somehow like atlantis, very advanced very powerful and benevolent...) causing them to become ghosts (or worse).
Everything has been said on that, what has maybe not is that he did this ONLY because he loves Isolde. He is only motivated by intense, unstoppable, unforgettable love. A love so strong it went through "Death and Ruination" (as he said). And so here comes the most powerful moment, when he reaches to Senna, striking her and stunning her (again a real ability in the game :p) not caring at all about the fact that he could destroy the world because for him "She is my world" ! And this sentence is so perfectly fitting, so romantic.... AH how I 'love' that.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames he is not really the stalker type. She really fell for him, their love and passion was just beyond everything. He was a very pathetic ruler and a bad king (because the rightful heir died too early, Viego was not supposed to sit on the throne), but with her he was a far better man. Not enough though, there was an attempt to kill him ordered by a neighbourgh kingdom but it failed and the deadly-poisoned blade hurted Isolde... And that's why he looked for a cure and ended on a country-wide curse.
Last fun fact, Viego was released very recently compared to his "gameplay existence". The curse is named the Black mist and many champs are related to it (Senna, Viego, Thresh, Lucian, Kalista, Hecarim, Elise, Yorick, Karthus and so on) But there is also a pretty strong in-game item that exists since the beginning of the game and which is called "Blade of the Ruined King" and with Viego we find out that this item is in fact his blade (the big one you see in the cinematic... that's also the reason why there is such a slow-mo on its appearance). I let you imagine the hype when a lore-fan like me is teased by a new champs like that :D

@@HackOnFackebook They are both gamers, but the MOBA style isn't for everyone. I've been playing off and on since season 1 and the story and worldbuilding for the game has always been way more interesting than the game itself, which is why I'm glad they are making a show. That would be a much better thing for these guys to react to when it comes out.
Just a note: Thresh is not a demon. Demons are a thing in lol, but they more representation of base human emotions (gluttony, lust, fear). Thresh is more of a creature, or a corrupted human.

I’ll give an overview of the story here. So you have in an ancient kingdom of Camavor the young king Viego who is madly in love with his wife Isolde. However he sucks as a king so an assassin tries to kill him, but kills Isolde instead. Viego goes mad searching for a way to revive her. Eventually one of his knights finds the Blessed Isles, a country full of magic and mages. There they have the waters of life. The mages don’t want to give Viego the water however because it can’t really revive dead people. So Viego invades and kills most of the people there. In the isles is Thresh, a mage who is sadistic and really doesn’t like the other mages, so he leads Viego to the waters. Viego uses it to revive Isolde, but she comes back as a zombie and stabs Viego through the heart. Everything then goes crazy and a magical apocalypse of undeath occurs, turning everything on the isles into undead and turning them into the Shadow Isles. This was the Ruination. Viego lives on as an undead searching for the fragments of Isolde’s soul, spreading death, destruction, and ruination in his wake. Of the two soul fragments we know about, one was within Senna (you saw it in the video) and the other is currently giving life to the champion Gwen, who is a doll created by Isolde.
Lucian and Senna (who are married) are both members of an order called the Light Sentinels, who’s goal is to fight against the undead and Viego. That’s why they had been fighting Thresh, though Senna had her soul stolen and was trapped by Thresh until Lucian freed her. There’s a new event coming to league soon regarding all of this. With it we’re getting another Light Sentinel champion and a bunch of other champions are joining the Sentinels as well, since Viego is spreading the ruination across the world. Well also be seeing more of it in the Ruined King game, where a bunch of champions have found their way to Bilgewater, a pirate port near the Shadow Isles. They’ll be exploring the Isles in that game. As for the characters. The redhead is Miss Fortune, she’s in some other cinematically as well, she’s the current ruler of Bilgewater and is a pirate captain. The big buff woman is Illaoi, a priestess of a kraken god. Braum is the buff guy with the shield, he’s a friendly guy who likes protecting people. Not sure why he’s in Bilgewater though. You know Ahri and Yasuo, they both headed to Bilgewater after the Yasuo/Yond cinematic. Ahri to search for who she is and Yasuo, since he didn’t want to stay in Ionia, is going as a body guard. The last one is Pyke, he’s a revenant who was betrayed and left to be eaten by a sea monster. He now goes and kills everyone who betrayed him, their names all on his list, though for some reason the list keeps getting longer. No idea why Pyke is going to be a good guy (heck he’s even going to be joining the Light Sentinels since he’s getting a skin, wonder how that’ll work seeing as how he himself is undead)

Hey these are great! Besides cinematics, Riot also does a lot of music videos (Awaken and Warriors really fits both categories). Check out K/DA. It's an alternative universe about an all girl pop music group comprised of Ahri (fox girl), Akali, Evelynn, and Kaisa. Pop/Stars is the first one from 2018, and they produced 5 more songs in 2020: The Baddest (akali's song), More (group song), Villain (Eve's song), Drum Go Dum (Kaisa), and I'll Show You (Ahri). The order I have given here is the order of release of the videos. Music style is primarily inspired by K-Pop.
