Oh my goodness the collar made this, I mean the scalloped edges and the zipper are top tier but I just wasn’t expecting how perfect that collar would be. I definitely advocate for lining it, you’ll get way more use out of it (though I don’t blame you for putting that off for now 😅). It looks so good on you, love it!!
I actually really like the symmetry of the paired blue squares on the collar, it makes it stand out and makes it more distinct as a collar piece rather than just more of the body and that lets the eye appreciate the scalloped detail more! I'm also just desperately in love with the harder element of the zipper sitting between the two scalloped edges... definitely line it so you can wear it constantly because this jacket is the coolest fricken thing I've ever seen.
this is amazing.... sucks that it is itchy however its worth it! i have always struggled with making granny square projects because i feel like they look "home made" but you make them look so wearable and spiffy, i might revisit some I've made to add collars and cuffs because yours always looks so well finished in that way and i think that my be the difference for me
Your videos imo 10/10 i like how its a vlog and not a tutorial because i can watch it while working on my own projects and its just a vibe, so glad i found your channel(p.s. love the cat moments)
Love it 🥰 I think 5 down looks better for a jacket. Really like the scalloped edging and the collar works fabulous 😊 I definitely think you should line it if it’s itchy as I can imagine in 6 months time you’ll say oh I didn’t wear it because it’s itchy!!!!🥰
Looks great Michelle! You should turn it into a real jacket by lining it with quilted fabric. You could use ribbing fabric on the sleeve to make them taper while keeping the green trim 😊
OMG! I'm crocheting a granny square sweater right now and thought I'd watch some of your videos. I turn on youtube and there's this new video, I'm so excited, I love your videos! 🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻
I absolutely love this!!!! The collar is so cute, and I love the zipper!!! Please tell Totoro that she is so cute and sweet. I just love seeing her, and that my baby girl Winter says, "Mew!" BTW those colors are spot on for you, so perfect! ❤
Wow‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️What a BEAUTIFUL job you did with the Granny Squares Jacket❣️❤️❣️❤️❣️❤️❣️You look TOTALLY DARLING in it too❣️❤️❣️Sooooo happy for you that you now have another AWESOME Jacket to wear & BE SOOO PROUD OF❣️❤️❣️❤️❣️Thx for sharing this video, you taught us sooooo many things by sharing with us❣️❤️❣️As always, I loves ya’ bunches & more😘Please stay Well, be HAPPY, & STAY SAFE no matter where you are❣️🙏🏼❣️ barb (S.E. It looks so cute, I'm glad you could preserve the trim!! And the zipper is sooo chic! You could do a burn test on a piece of the yarn to determine if it's plastic or wool :~) the drape is really nice too
Love how it turned out 😁. Love that you had zero crocheting to do for it, and how perfectly it works for what you intended. Love when that happens 😊. Very pretty upcycle.
Oh yeah your kitty kitty couldn't be cuter or more loveable 😂😍. My friends cats do the very same thing your's does=any time they are trying to do anything crafty...or paperwork, who decides it's time for scratchies/lovins... the cats 😂🐈⬛
I am so obsessed with how this turned out, I thrifted a granny square blanket of a similar size a few weeks ago and now i'm eyeing it to see if I could make it a jacket like this. I would also want to line it too if I did that since its pretty itchy. also, I am speak for myself, I do love crochet videos but would watch you craft anything if thats something you're considering!
It looks really good! I like how there's orange squares going diagonally across the front! I absolutely love to crochet, it's addicting! 😂 I just finished a hexagon sweater that I love, it turned out exactly how I wanted it to. I really like the scalloped edge on yours! Great job!
I don't know how feasible this is, but I've been looking at layered ruffle/shell borders while planning my own cardigan that im making with a shell stitch. I really prefer cuffed jackets/cardigans myself, and I would like to keep the shell detail on the sleeves, so I've been looking at using a layered border technique so I can work a crocheted ribbing into the back stitch under the last row of shells, if that makes sense. If you find you really want them cuffed later, it's something to look into if you want to keep the shells at least! I can't promise how well it'd work because I haven't gotten that far myself, but I've been c hewing on it for a while and thought I'd sh are
OMG. I love your personality. Seems like you could’ve been a TV host. Perhaps you were. 😂. Subscribed. I’m creating a crochet channel at the moment. I will not be as interesting as you. So funny!!!❤
24:10 I love the sleeves the way they are but I do understand the need for cuffs. Could you (JUST A SUGGESTION from a non seamstress but a crocheter) put a small black or green elastic band and “gather” the scalloped edges? Like weave the elastic band through the crochet? Just a thought…😅
I was thinking you might even do a cuff, but attach it up inside the sleeve, leaving a sq or 1/2 a square on the outside of the cuff?! I love your projects! 💖💖💖
I mean I get wanting to not do any crochet as a challenge, but it would really be much, much easier to just frog the border and redo the scallop edge once you join all the pieces again
I wonder if it would be possible to start a cuff in the back of the scallops so that the scallop isn't covered but sortve raised above? Granted im not sure at all if that would look good cinched by the ribbing of the cuff 😅
The collar and the scallop edges made this whole project oh my god I love it. I thrifted a granny square blanket after your last blanket upcycle and I might just have to make it into a jacket bc of this

I love the matching blue squares! And the orange ones going diagonally on the front! For some reason it’s my favorite part of the project!! ❤
I love how it turned out!! This would be an amazing jacket to sew a fleece lining into! That would help with the itchiness too.
I love the jacket. I think the 5 squares down was a good choice. Thank you for the video.
I love this. Agree about the zipper versus buttons. I think the collar adds a lot, good choice to adding it on. ❤

Love how the orange squares make a diagonal
Love it 🥰 I think 5 down looks better for a jacket. Really like the scalloped edging and the collar works fabulous 😊 I definitely think you should line it if it’s itchy as I can imagine in 6 months time you’ll say oh I didn’t wear it because it’s itchy!!!!🥰
The jacket is really cute! What a great way to repurpose an older crochet piece.
You can really see the scalloped edges on the black zipper!! Awesome piece ❤ Great job 👏 😊

That Jacket is incredible. You are so darn creative.
That jacket is adorable!!!

WOW! It is perfection!
I love it, from me you get a 10 out of 10!❤
Loved that you managed to match the collar corners and the the 2 ar the bottom of zipper also match. Great job repurposing the afghan. 😊😊
WOW, that's beautiful
You are AMAZING, TRULY! Ngl, I was not seeing tbd vision early on, but wham! You nailed it, once again! It is stellar! Well done! Cheers! ☺️🫶🏻🧶
If you decide you don’t like the flared sleeves you could put a yarn or single crochet drawstring that ties.
That’s a novel idea, too!!
It looks so cute, I'm glad you could preserve the trim!! And the zipper is sooo chic! You could do a burn test on a piece of the yarn to determine if it's plastic or wool :~) the drape is really nice too
Your jacket turned out super cute! Thank you for sharing!❤
So cute
Love the length, btw.
My favourite collar yet!
🇨🇦
Im impressed. " Well Done! "
Soooo cute!!!!❤ I'm so happy you gave the quilt a second chance!
This turned out great. Neat!😃
Love how it turned out 😁. Love that you had zero crocheting to do for it, and how perfectly it works for what you intended. Love when that happens 😊. Very pretty upcycle.

I love your vision and how you brought it to life, especially using the border in the right places like you did.... great job🧶💜
This is so cute!! I keep seeing these projects, and I can't wait to make one myself.

This has made me add the blanket section to my thrift checklist
Came out so cute! Also obsessed with your beige and red trim quilted jacket😍

Hello Michelle,
Yeah, that turned out cute, I really like it.
Your videos make my life better ❤️

Wow. Jacket is fab. Can't do the dishes in it though.😊
Love the jacket !!!! Super cool project!!! Love these kinds of vids you do...thanks for sharing!
Ur humour 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Just love it 😀

Let the crochet-gods do their job!😂😂
Yes, let the divine help you with your crochet projects!😊
Glad I found your page.

I was thinking you might even do a cuff, but attach it up inside the sleeve, leaving a sq or 1/2 a square on the outside of the cuff?! I love your projects! 💖💖💖
You could hand sew some black elastic thread in the sleeves to make pseudo cuffs.
Adorable!
I mean I get wanting to not do any crochet as a challenge, but it would really be much, much easier to just frog the border and redo the scallop edge once you join all the pieces again
@Michelle Jesek
Hey Michelle, love all your videos, I was wondering if you would do a tutorial for the mallard 🦆 .
It’s sooo dang cute! 🥰
Omg, I want one!!
0:56 Projects over I did it the end ✨😀 love the peice btw🤩
I’d bet it’s “bargain acrylic” like RedHeart super savor, if it’s very itchy. 😂 looks good though!
Good morning 🌄🌞 blessings ☕ awesome ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would put elastic in the wrist weave it through see how you like that 😊
Fantastic wow.
I wonder if it would be possible to start a cuff in the back of the scallops so that the scallop isn't covered but sortve raised above? Granted im not sure at all if that would look good cinched by the ribbing of the cuff 😅
This one is Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🙀😻⚡✨🎇
Ok I need to know about that car backseat cover though 👀
Related facts: not all wool is itchy. It depends on the hair microns (thickness).
Since she was able to wash and dry it I’m thinking it’s acrylic.
Can you make a video on how to add lining?
THIS
If i do ending up making a lining, sure!
Love this so much! Would like to do the same.
Wait zippers are that easy to add to stuff 😭😭 gotta go add zippers to all my crochet now
Ah, the no-cro cro pro, classic
❤❤❤
💓💓💓💓💓
Engagement 👋🏻
ur mind
The collar and the scallop edges made this whole project oh my god I love it. I thrifted a granny square blanket after your last blanket upcycle and I might just have to make it into a jacket bc of this
