I totally agree that we should be in a constant process of learning. Hopefully with everything, plants, pets, kids, relationships etc. Things change over time, I’ve made tons of mistakes with my reptiles and plants due to the lack of info online, or lack of proper info. So I’m always wanting to keep learning to get it right
Yes! Change is constant and I’ve had to learn so much to keep up! We keep learning better ways of doing things and improving and it’s so cool when our collection improves as we do! 😊
my top tip for plant collecting is telling your partner you just needed a couple more for free shipping, this has gotten me 14 plants from my wife agreeing to getting 3 wishlist plants just this summer!
Thank you for this video you taught me about some plant care about what I need to get for bugs. Love all your plants. I was one that got a lot of small plants and now that is so big that they won’t fit on my shelf now. LOL
I use the wish list method for everything clothes aquarium stuff and every few months I go back through and see if I still feel the same way I did when I added it if I don't I remove it. I have only got into houseplants for about 2 years my collations are still really small only about 20 plants. fertilizer scares me so about 8 months ago I decided to use my aquarium water so when my plants need watered, I do a water change and water the houseplants with that water. I understand I have a small number of plants so for now I can do that but as I get more plants, I will have to figgier out something else.
Yes! A lot of times plants I add to my wishlist don’t stay because I lose interest! Better to delete a name than be stuck with a plant that you don’t love 😆 I’ve heard aquarium water is great for plants- fertilizer freaked me out at first too esp after I burned some of my plants but it’s so easy once you get a routine down. The fish fertilizer I use won’t burn your plants so I started with that and started adding a little of the super thrive later on and it’s worked really well!
Since I grow my climbers on moss poles, I must have sphagnum moss on hand. It's really stressful when a node is not touching the moss and ur completely out 🤣
The one thing that changed the game for me was clear pots. I'd love to have known this 2 years ago.
Yes!! Clear pots have helped me SO much, love watching the roots grow 😍
