I've been a backseat nerfer for years due to medical issues. My first war, I'm showing up with my hoppered Proton, my Diatron, and either my Nitron or Lumitron. I've always had a soft spot for Vortex and I can't believe it's been that long since they stopped making them...

Vigilon is a great sidearm. not only does the internal mag hold 6, but it can also actually hold 7 if you store one extra in the chamber seeing as the internal mag is not loaded by priming the gun

I adore my Praxis, but preferred the look of the Lumitron.
Never saw the FuseFire here in the UK which is a real shame.

The pyragon was better so I did not get a praxis, but I use it like a praxis but also have slamfire

The Diatron is actually pretty awesome in my opinion. It has a higher capacity than a Roughcut and can be primed with one hand. Also the slow moving disks lend very well to shotgun functionality.

That last blaster could definitely be a good remake if they took the internal magazine chambers and just rotated them so the disks were level with the barrel when it was ready to fire. If it stayed the exact same size it might be limited to about 24 rounds though.

Hey, I have an OG Nitron, too! It’s been very well preserved over the years, it would be nice to see how I could mod it to match or even out-perform today’s blasters.

i cracked the code on a revonix and found the main disc locks, and the reason for the gross prime sounds. sounds and feels great now. you can also do the extended capacity mode and make it a 35 cap vs 30.
The fuse fire is pretty dope (never had more jams in my life)

I’m planning a nerf war with my friends and so I was going through all my blasters and I found my praxis and the 6 discs I have left over 😂
Damn, Vortex series was the bomb, sadly when I was younger I threw my Praxis into my garage and forgot about it, it got jammed and I had no clue how to fix it. Hopefully I can restore it sometime soon!

Watched this video again as I love the Vortex line. You did get over the required 5000 likes so I would love to see a build video of a modernized Nitron.
On a side note, you didn’t even mention the Diatron. That was a great blaster that would have been improved with a loading gate for the magazine like those on the Revonix 360 instead of the door.
The Proton is my only vortex blaster, I am excited to get the new ones!
The Revonix would be my primary in an all ammo type load out, I've slowly been gathering up the guts to remove the locks, and I also had to fix the pump grip since I snapped it off of the priming bolt. I never took apart the main guts of the gun, but I have taken everything out and gotten it all back in before... may have lost a spring or two in the process....
Doubt you'll see this Drac but I know your pain, and actually had to fix mine before, and actually successfully did so, that was a major relief!
My first vortex blaster was the zombie strike one it was super fun and I shot some random in the park with it, I ended up missing the vortex series so that was the only taste I got of the vortex series until now with vortex returning
I have had a Nitron sitting in a storage box for a while. I love the ergonomics of it, but the low rate of fire prevents it from seeing much play. I'd love to see a mod guide on it.
Going way way back to watch this again. Vortex is still an absolutely amazing and absolutely *fun* nerf line that hasn't been beat imo. Is there any video or visual source for good Praxis lock removal I ask into the abyss?
yo, drac, i went to a value village last week, and I found a barricade and a tomy 20. in fact, i get most of my nerf guns from value village!
Dunno how I missed this vid when it came out. Thx Drac. Vortex was/is ultimate in-the-house blaster: disks float-fly far, they ricochet everywhere(no cover is safe) and they softly hit so no damaging or knocking stuff off surfaces. Fav is Vigilon; I feel like a Commissar dispatching heretics. Disk ammo can has Out Of Darts stickers on it cuz, well, when you're out of darts, Vortex!
I got a 1st gen praxis for my 7 birthday so long ago and I still have it with the stock and mag plus I also have 3 other vortex blasters the protron,diatron,and the nitron
I took a praxis apart a month after it was released and actually managed to increase the power(I think it involved moving the screw the spring attached to over a spot or two to increase the compression of the spring). J remember it being a pain in the butt to do that and get it back together, but once I did, it was awesome. I also removed any locks I found and managed to shoot 2 at a time every few shots (it was weird like that lol). I loved that thing but gave it to a younger cousin cause I lost all the disks and got into flywheels (specifically the stryfe) and his whole load out was vortex and he had over 2000 disks(not even joking lol)

There is a grey ratchet piece above the foregrip prime that is responsible for the clicky prime sound. Take it out, and its so clean

when I tried the priaxus I tried slam fire and broke it it still works but the locks are all broke and if it jams u got to get a butter knife to pull it out

I remember seeing a 3d printable file for vortex ammo on thingiverse. I can confirm the vigilon will fire it with almost no issues (just occasionally doesn't want to go into the chamber) and can say it also hurts much more as it isn't foam lined like official disks.

The fusefire was nice, but if it jammed, you had a glowing paperweight.

Bought a bin of rando blasters at SENC 56 and got 3 Praxis, a pyragon, a proton, and 2 vigilons with only 1 small mag and no disks. I’m curious if they are worth trying to get working really well (all but 1 of the praxis are jammed)
I was just in the U.S and I bought a broken Pyragon, I’m so disappointed still! Hope that Vortex VTX makes it way to Canada at some point!

I'm sad that vortex ended...I live in Europe and there are close to no thrift stores, so finding one of these is completely impossible, I wish you could get them online for a fair price... And I wish vortex returned
If you go to ebay, you may be able to find a praxis for under 20 Bucks.

You Can Also Get a version of the praxis called loimitron
