Still my favorite joke about Swedes and Danes and it's in an american sitcom. Hats off to the writers!

Only understood the joke because my danish boyfriend informed me of the love-hate-relationship which Denmark and Sweden share since centuries. Couldn't of course stop laughing when I watched this. Also had to tell my bf right away about it 🤣🤣🤣. He laughed so hard himself.
Love you, you cute, weird scandinavians out there! And B99 just rocks! 😍

As a swede, I can confirm this X'D Love this clip!! For reference, I'm watching a swedish farming show right now and I was wondering why all of the sudden the subtiles were on for the latest episode. Turned them off. Then realised the farmers went to visit their Danish friend... "oh ffs..." Turned the subtitles on again!
But with Norwegians for example, I feel so bad when I don't understand them and I try my hardest. (but it's Way easier than Danish)

Fun fact: Danish and our dialect is not related, despite what many people think. Some words, sure, but people tend to forget that up until the 1900:s, traveling between Skåne and Denmark wasn't very common.

Ah, yes, and what about the use of delightful “flyvemaskine” (literally flying machine) -a word that truly captures the spirit of Danish efficiency by retro-ing the modern “airplane” into something that sounds like a contraption held together with duct tape. And let’s not forget “Boykott,” because nothing screams cultural pride like respelling an English surname (Boycott) to make it, well, slightly less English. Naturally, everything must be Danish-ified, even beyond language, for example the iconic Lego, “invented” as Playmobile by a British child psychologist who never saw a penny as Danes illegally made their own version without his knowledge. He killed himself thinking he was a failure and Lego moved in and bought his company preventing themselves from being sued. Now, they've mastered the art of suing anyone who dares to emulate their “original” versatile brick. So cheers to a language and culture that really knows how to keep things... local.
