This is one of my favorite videos you do each year, it’s interesting to see what you choose to use for your home after testing so many cameras long term. You must get so many notifications on your phone when someone walks around the outside your house
Thank you for taking the time and doing all the hard work for us. You made it so easy for me to choose Arlo Pro 2 HD, six years ago. Because at the time they were the only brand offering solar powered cameras and free cloud storage for a week. When they decided to stop supporting the camera with their end of life policy I switched to Eufy based on your reviews. Thank you and have a wonderful new year.
I’ve been in the Wyze ecosystem, but just received a Eufy cam and doorbell setup. I can see why it would help to have different brands to cover my needs. Happy New Year!
I'm in Vegas where it gets very hot during the summer months. I have 2 eufy solocam s230. They get sunlight more then half the day because of where they are at. They did work flawlessly for a little over a year then they started to stop charging kind of as he mentioned during the video happened on one of his eufy cams. Also the body of both my cams are yellow. I contacted Eufy and was denied a warranty because it's over 1 year and I recieved no help with the issues I was having. Poor customer service.
@@LifeHackster I'm really liking that flood light and end up purchasing it. Hoping it lasts longer since it's going to be wired. We'll see if the sun kills this cam as well or if it's just an issue with their solar models. But please report back if you find any issues with the solar model.
Watching to see if you update us on the high publicized "possible" Eufy security issues, as there are 7:14 conflicting reports and I have yet to see adequate assurance from Eufy directly.
:) I remember when WiFi cameras were not a thing yet (10-15 years ago) and if you see a house with cameras, that is automatically what you are going to think. Nowadays, in my neighborhood 90 percent of houses have cameras.
I give you my long term reviews for my Eufy cams... I have 3x Eufy SoloCam S40 - the first developed condensation within the lens 10 months into warranty, which I claimed for a replacement 3rd. My 2nd is still mounted on my backyard for almost 2 years now, but just as the 1st, it developed condensation again but this time it took longer due to the fact that I duct-taped the gaps around the camera. Did the same to my 3rd, already a year old, still good but the solar panel already peeling its surface coating. My 2nd S40 solar panel no longer works so I have to dismount to charge, and the battery takes awfully long to charge, the last round being over 12 hours on a 10W charger. I'm getting a 4th (and probably the last) as a standby in case of down time charging, but should any of the previous 2 dies, I will mount that under the roof and charge regularly using a powerbank instead. To hell with the sun let alone the weather. Those IP6x ratings are nothing, these cameras cannot withstand the harsh tropical weather where I live. They all turned yellow anyways when exposed to the sun. I also have 2 other Eufy cams - E40 and the C24 tucked away from the elements and they gave me no problems whatsoever. E40 is charged regularly using powerbank. And with all 4x S40 the costs in the span of 2 years I could have actually deployed a system of tried and true wired cameras. Granted the only benefits of Eufy cameras are their practicalities and easy DIY self-deployment.
I have Eufy, nest, and Arlo. Really impressed with all the cool Eufy stuff. They make many devices. Great app and intuitive set ups. Sad how different companies do not want to work with other companies like Apple.
Thanks for the upload. I have 4 of the Duo2 with floodlights. I live on a corner in an urban area and I have 2 driveways. I really like those cameras a lot. I have a combination of 13 Reolink cameras total. I would like to see detailed 2024 videos of the Reolink NVR software, the Reolink Client and the Reolink phone App. There isn't anything on youtube that with the latests versions and thorough.
Using different brands or ecosystem is not an issue because most devices work with Alexa and can integrate in the Alexa app. There is also Matter which will help integrate with devices on Samsung Smart Things, Apple Home Kit and Google Home.
Which outdoor camera would you recommend for HomeKit Secure Video integration? Currently using Arlo (No HSV) and there’s a 7 second delay when opening video feed, talking through the doorbell, etc.
Thank you for this update! I am on a budget and done with vivent. I want my own but I have a beer budget lol. I need 1 outdoor wireless camera for my garage area. A reliable doorbell video cam with package notifications. And one camera for my back yard. One inside cam and some window sensors for my basement windows. Also need a sensor for my garage indoor door. What system would you recommend that does not cost a fortune and I can get no contract monitoring for under 25 dollars a month.? I really appreciated it. I don’t want no adt, vivent or any similar company.
I have mainly Wyze cameras around my home, but I also have a Reolink RLC-1212A camera connected through FTP to send images to my weather station's dashboard. And an Arlo Essential Spotlight XL in my plant room to monitor my seedlings.
On your Eufy Cam3 which is the security cams I have. I had delaminated solar panels that prevented the cameras from charging. I called Eufy support and they sent four cameras with a new textured solar panel. Eufy support stated it was a known issue and that these cameras were constructed with poor panels and the new cam3’s had a different solar panel built in. Just an FYI😊
I just wiped down the solar panel on my ring, spotlight, pro and unplugged and plugged it back in. Let’s see if it starts charging but I’m going off your recommendation. I’m gonna keep two systems. Now I’m gonna stick with the ring ecosystem that I still like a lot while I now have the Eufy ecosystem as well and have both side-by-side for my front yard and backyard.
I had eufy and reolink.. eufy has an easy to use app for viewing events in order and had alert tones that I had solely relied on.. I only liked my reolink cams because they were quality made, had better fps and picture quality, great detection range and could use SD card for 24/7 recording and didn't need a NVR (which I have and use) also the CX410 was a game changer for me.. sadly I've made the full switch to reolink and now missing some of the features that eufy had that i become accustomed too
Nice tour!! You have a great channel and a great passion in presenting security cameras! For all your Eufy cameras, what size storage do you use on your Homebase 3? I have Eufy and Homebase 3 and want to upgrade storage, but storage hard drives are expensive!😣 I might just get one terabyte, but was curious how much memory you use with all your Eufy cameras. Thanks!
Would you ever review an NVR like Synology's Surveillance Station that comes with their NAS systems? I think it would make for a great video for those looking for a NAS and NVR in one.
I utilize Lorex 4k wired cameras for continuous 24/7 NVR recording, very old Arlo Pros with solar for Apple HomeKit motion automation, and Ring (wired doorbell and solar spotlight) for front and back door notifications. Definitely having at least 2 brands is essential. I only keep Arlo strictly for the Apple HomeKit integration as sensors to turn on exterior smart Phillips Hue lighting. Otherwise, Lorex and Ring provide the necessary coverage. We need more HomeKit friendly brands.
No delays in the video. The Lorex app boots up fast and begins streaming with little delay on a good WiFi connection. The color night vision is great. Very little street light is needed to maintain colored night vision. All but one camera wiring were concealed using the included Cat5e. However, the one camera with the wiring exposed stopped working. I recommend using a durable Cat6 if wiring will be exposed. Lorex was my first NVR system and highly satisfied with them.
So for simpletons like myself, what doorbell video camera and eventual security system would you go with if you're looking at one platform. I would like to see doorbell camera and security camera on my echo show 8 as well as Sony TV. Lastly, I really don't care for all the monthly these associated with storage, would rather do that local. Thank you.
Really surprised you don’t have the Tapo Colorpro camera. Very quick notifications and great night time camera. It’s also poe and has Sd card storage. At least you didn’t mention if you are. I think I seen it in your video in the background.
Thank you for taking the time and doing all the hard work for us. I wanted to see if you could also mention which router or wifi boosting options you have that allow your devices to connect via wifi. My issue come with the range of my wifi not reaching some of the door cameras and im a little lost as to selecting the best option. any advise or recommended options?

We are in the Irvine area, Orange County, Southern California. Would appreciate hearing from you on this matter. Thank you.
I’m sorry, I don’t do consulting. Testing and making my videos keeps me busy. Nest is a pretty good system because video quality is pretty decent and can record 24/7. Cool off in their notifications are my only complaint with them.
what do you recommend for nvr system? I am using wyze and ring (cam and alarm for home) but watching your video, I might consider 3rd for backup cam (nvr) for just in case. I have experienced an electric shortage and an internet down before.

👋Hi 👋 Love the content you put out. I have an issue. I have the eufy dual door camera. It keeps going off line. I spoke to eufy I got them to send me another one. But the other one that was sent also does it. I then thought it was the plug 🔌 . I ordered another plug 🔌 & still going off line. The router is from cable and it's like less the 10 feet from the door camera, so it's not like it far away to not get wifi. I am using the home base 4 and the light stays on blue & it's connected to the router withe the ethernet cable. Maybe you'll have an idea or maybe something else I can try? Thanks. Hoping to get your input.
Great test! How to manage this kind of scenario? (without to have to manually disable the alarm in the app...)
You didn't show TAPO security camera. I thought you've been using it too. I do have 3 TAPO cameras and never had any issue with them. Thanks for your good info all the time :)
Dear lifehackster enjoy all your videos especially this one with all the new products. Have a question though I finally hooked up my ring alarm pro and everything is working fine but my question is even though everything is working fine the status light for the eero is constantly blinking white. I’m recording on local storage and that’s working fine and I do have my built in eero router in bridge mode because I have no issues with my internet. No one can answer this question. So do I just go the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it or ? Any help
I made a few upgrades to my smart home security system earlier this year as well. Nighttime image quality with reolink outdoor cams never been good at best it's acceptable with lots of additional infared lights. I Had a total of 6 ir lights using another 140 watts per hour. So I decided to try a color night vision setup instead. I gave the reolink duo2 a try back in july to replace a pair of 810a cams. works great but the downside of a wide fov is objects will look much smaller and the fixed focus means zooming it will lose clarity compared to the 810a at the same 4k resolution. I then wanted to try the floodlight version for the backyard. Around the same time the poe/wifi floodlight had just launched I got 2 of those. one for the street and one for the backyard to pair with the linked device ai smart detection control. And iot function with the nvr. I also got the cx410 on to see how good or not a true low light cam can be. About 3 months of use at this point I can say in low ambient light environments the image quality is good not perfect very little ghosting. definitely a big upgrade over black/white ir. My streetlights use sodium vapor bulbs and it results in a light yellowish hue footage in clear skies at night. On cloudy nights with lots of fog there is overexposure and everything bright is washed out. With the poe floodlight on from ai detection event the image quality is spot on. Shadows do look at bit dark. Daytime image detail overall is a downgrade compared to 810a 4k vs 2k. But on sunny days the cx410 hdr performance is better than 810a when comparing default iso settings. I have object shadows and glare from the install position under an overhang and having good hdr is a must. I won't be changing all my 810a cams for the cx410 but for the low light performance I feel it is a method to makeup on infrared weaknesses. I still use infrared but ony need half the lights and wattage compared to my old setup so less energy use is also a plus. I also run a blue iris server with code project ai with all the onvif compatible cams for more redundancy so I have 2 copies of any recorded event. Cheers to 2024
I am thinking of replacing the Zmodo wired security cameras, because they stop making wire poe cameras and they are not innovating; they do not fix products that out of warranty , and It also seem to me that someday they will go out of business because you can not get replace NVR and wired poe cameras, unless it refurbish or you fine use ones on ebay and they no more accept phone support, buy only thorough the Zmodo app. I am considering a Reolink NVR Poe System, but what is turning me off is the extra pigtail wires they have on their peo security cameras. Do you have any recommendations you can share as a good replacement with out those estrace pigtail wires?
I’m curious if the Eufy batteries just have a very limited life expectancy to them because they’re constantly being charged by the solar panel and because they’re constantly being charged by the solar panel it’s just degrading their battery life
Ring is good but waze is more affordable. The thing about ring is they have your deals on prime day. So you can start with a few cameras and then slowly add to your system.
What are the best analog outdoor security cameras? We have previous analog/bnc wiring already set up but the cameras are from the brand Zosi and are poor quality so I would like to upgrade and change the brand but unfortunately can’t remove the wiring since it’s in between the walls.
I use Eufy hardware with homebase. The homebase and router is connected to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) so even if there is a power outage I can still get recordings and access footage. All cameras are battery powered and do not stop working with a power outage. The worse case scenario for me is if there is an internet outage where I cannot get notified, but recordings will still occur. 😊
Hi, Lifehackster. I have an Eufy E340 flood light camera. I have tried different settings to stop it from getting triggered by my parked car. The car could be at home all day, and without the car moving, I received a notification, vehicle detected, and it's the same car that the camera had been looking at all day. Please, if you don't mind, could you let me know the settings that you set yours on. It would be greatly appreciated.
When I initially set this up in my front garage area, I did get notifications but it seems it “learned” eventually and now I don’t get any unless our cars move…I do have motion zones setup but the cars are inside the zone.
Many thanks for your reply. I have motion zones set up with the cars in side the zone too but sometimes without the cars moving the camera will still send a notification vehicle detected. Also the camera sometimes detected people outside of the motion zones. I had tried various different settings but it's still the same.
My Ring Cam Pro which replaced my regular Ring Cam stopped receiving WiFi signal after 20 months. Ring support could not get it to work so RIP. What to replace it with? I need a camera to show the front of my garage door, not just the driveway. Any suggestions?
I see you have a Ring Outdoor siren, I have been trying to find out, if I buy one from eBay (as Ring no longer sells them) will the app still support it?
I'm considering the Wize cam pro for the exterior of the house of my significant other, for next spring. She would then subscribe to the cloudstorage solution for conserving her historical videos. Do you think that this is a good and robust solution as we live in Canada and the weather is quite harsh here?
Me and the wife are moving into a new place in a few days. With that said is the ring cameras a good choice? Because I heard they are compatible with the Amazon echo so that way she can answer the door while she's in the kitchen ect. My question is rinf a good choice for someone that is not wanting to spend a fortune? I also like the fact they are wireless! But with that said I'm not opposed to other brands or recommendations. I just don't want to spend thousands on a camera system is all. 😄 Thanks ahead of time!
@@LifeHackster -- Thanks for the screenshot, but I don't have that timeline on my Eufy software, just the buttons I mentioned on the very bottom of the screen. You didn't show TAPO security camera. I thought you've been using it too. I do have 3 TAPO cameras and never had any issue with them. Thanks for your good info all the time :)
I have the same problem with my Eufy s340. Eufy just sent a software update to fix this problem to the cameras connected to the homebase
I’m curious if the Eufy batteries just have a very limited life expectancy to them because they’re constantly being charged by the solar panel and because they’re constantly being charged by the solar panel it’s just degrading their battery life
“That’s a lot of cameras!”🤣 thank you. I need more cameras 😆
Ring is good but waze is more affordable. The thing about ring is they have your deals on prime day. So you can start with a few cameras and then slowly add to your system.
What are the best analog outdoor security cameras? We have previous analog/bnc wiring already set up but the cameras are from the brand Zosi and are poor quality so I would like to upgrade and change the brand but unfortunately can’t remove the wiring since it’s in between the walls.
hey can you recommend what's the best 24/7continuous recording indoor camera and outdoor camera
so what's the best outdoor camera wireless or poe without subscription fee apple home kit
Have you ever tested the Ezviz outside cam C8W? I have some but they keep changing stream FQDNs or IPs😢

One suggestion for 2024 is start ranking the camera battery & wired.
What type of router do you use? And is your internet speed?
Why do have a Ring Alarm and sensors v/s Eufy's alarm system?
Damn, you must freak out when your power goes out lol
I use Eufy hardware with homebase. The homebase and router is connected to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) so even if there is a power outage I can still get recordings and access footage. All cameras are battery powered and do not stop working with a power outage. The worse case scenario for me is if there is an internet outage where I cannot get notified, but recordings will still occur. 😊
I have some cameras in UPS.
I love what you do
Thank you, I appreciate it.
I have an E330 that has started doing it once per 24hr period around 4am in the morning after a fortnight of deployment.
When I click the Eufy notification, it goes to "Decrypting from local storage" and the video never loads. How did you get past that?
I see you have a Ring Outdoor siren, I have been trying to find out, if I buy one from eBay (as Ring no longer sells them) will the app still support it?
I'm considering the Wize cam pro for the exterior of the house of my significant other, for next spring. She would then subscribe to the cloudstorage solution for conserving her historical videos. Do you think that this is a good and robust solution as we live in Canada and the weather is quite harsh here?
As long as it is wired or plugged in. It should work better than battery powered ones in cold climates,
Thank you for your prompt answer. @@LifeHackster
This house has more security cameras than a prison...
Eufy all the way, elsewise Reolink is pretty good too
Your house has more cameras than the white house
I agree with having more than one brand
If someone breaks into your home, you'll have lots of footage to provide to the police lol
Always, your videos are amazing, my friend.
you have more cameras than the pentagon ig
Ring needs to update their cameras
Thank you so much for this.
You are welcome and thanks for watching!
What are your thoughts on swann cameras?
I’ve used them a while back, they are fine.
Is there a test of the Lorex 2K WiFi Video Doorbell??
Hi LH , what brand is your door strike plate?
I think they were called Door Devil. They are not sold at Amazon.
@@LifeHackster Thank you
Impressive camera setup my man! Can we simulate what a burglar break in would look like against your setup?
I can see a couple of “holes” in my setup…but that can be a good topic for a video. Thanks for watching!
Why bother keeping this many brands of cameras, just curious?
Because of the channel but even without it I’ll mostly likely be using 2-3 brands.
@3:15 is the plastic letting go on the eufy door lock ?
Yes, it hasn’t peeled off yet.
You should do license plate cameras or cctv that can see them.
5th Gen prelude in the street 😮
:)
Wyze sucks ,you can not use them with Blue Iris or a NVR ! The Tapo 325WB is great, you sold me on both of them !
How’s the Tapo? I ordered one coming tomorrow for the outside to replace my 2 wyze cams that are a pain to set up rtsp with.
The Tapo 325wb is a great low light camera and is easy to set up using RTSP !@@milojayjay
0.52 what kind of light is this? from the ring ?
Ring Solar Wall Light.
Have you not gotten annoyed by noisy neighbors living that close?
Nope. They are not noisy at all.
next year, UniFi protect?
Salamat po
What router are you using?
Eeros.
So you went away from aosu, why?
I tested them but in my setup, I use other brands.
What a guy!
I HATE Eufy , you cannot export a 24h record from homebase 3 nor camera, ONLY the few seconds from the motion not the entire footage
You can, just go to the 24/7 recording timeline, play the start of the footage that you want recorded and click the record button.
@@LifeHackster -- I don't see a "record" button. Only Download, Share, Donate, Delete and Favorites. Where do I find the Record button? Thanks.
@@cameraz99 check the screenshot -> lifehackster.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/screenshot.png
@@LifeHackster -- Thanks for the screenshot, but I don't have that timeline on my Eufy software, just the buttons I mentioned on the very bottom of the screen. I have a Eufy SoloCam S220 camera with the HomeBase 3. But there's no horizontal blue bar running across the middle of the screen. Are you paying for updated service or something? Thanks.
@@cameraz99 the solocam S220 is battery powered, so no 24/7 recording.
Wow

If there’s a burglar who decided to steal
from your property, he must have been the most stupidest burglar in the world!Out of so many houses in the vicinity, why chose the one with the most cameras in the whole neighbourhood
Hahaha😅
It's not 2024 lol
4 days from now it is…
😂
No offense but this is overwhelming and practically useless for the average person. Instead of reviewing every product under the sun, maybe do videos on different levels (based on price and needs) of recommended complete systems.
Yes it is and this is what my channel is about. Giving you options and not stick to 1 brand.
No
@@LifeHackster Keep doing what you're doing. You're the main reason I got into home cameras. And learned what brand is good/not so good.
