You’re the only person I’ve seen break it down without pulling the trigger!!! Great video!!!!! I love that I found this!!!

Pipe cleaners help cleaning without the loss of cotton. Informative video, better than instructions that came with gun.

Hell of a tutorial! I’m new to this and I’m about to clean this guy for the first time. Your video has me feeling pretty confident. The idea is intimidating, but I have to learn

Thank you for a very detailed overview of cleaning and maintaining this firearm. I was able to clean, oil, and reassemble my new baby with confidence and ease. Most videos I’ve watched doesn’t show the feature of removing the slide without pulling the trigger and the manual doesn’t show a good visual. That little yellow lever/pin is key. Two thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽.

I just got the Shield Plus and read the manual but it always makes more sense to me if I can see a video of it as well. The manual mentions the little yellow pin but this video helped me actually locate it. Thanks for the great video 👍🏼

Use tungsten disulfide (Ws2)! Dry powder, slipperiest thing on the planet, sheds carbon, bonds to metal by rubbing it on, doesn't attract dirt, doesn't come off, withstands 100,000 lbs. of force, eliminates wear. I run my guns dry with NO problems or signs of wear. Better than oil (oil attracts dirt) but if you are worried of what I say, Ws2 also blends well with oil and can be used together. I've been using it in my car's engine oil for 12 years and the engine is like brand new (no wear!!). Nasa uses Tungsten disulfide (Ws2) on the Mars rover. Great for guns! I use a short bristle 1/4 in. paint brush and a q tip to rub it on.

Nice! Is it like Frog Lube? Buddy of mine uses this on his Five Seven and it's very dry to the touch but like u said its a super lubricant.

I’ve got a 9mm and I’m supposed to fit 13 in the clip but can only fit 11. Anyone else have this problem?

All these magazines need to be broke in as well! The spring will eventually loosen up a bit and you will be able to get all 13! A Maglula would help you on loading magazines and save your thumb!

Pretty sure that lever prevents it from firing without a magazine.

I wondered if there was more to cleaning the inside of the barrel than what you covered?? I just purchased a M&P Plus - my first semi-auto handgun. When cleaning my revolvers - I use the bristle brush inside the barrel and the cylinder shafts. Should I do that on the M&P barrel ??

    • @PostmasterPrepper
      @PostmasterPrepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

You can use those brushes but it's not a regular thing I do. After a lot of rounds are fired through you might get some small lead buildup inside the barrel, or perhaps if you didn't clean it well enough some caked on residue. Those brushes work great at removing things that are stuck on there like that, but if you're just cleaning it because it's been sitting a long time you shouldn't need them. It shouldn't hurt to use it each time but it will add more wear and tear on the barrel.

Just cleaned my shield plus (my first shield), at first could not get slide off, so found another video showing (before I found this one) that little yellow arm inside, so I swung that down and was able to get slide off, then I looked back at video to see if I was suppose to swing yellow arm back up, the guy did not say, but I looked at comments and like this video says, the magazine will push it back into place, which it appeared that it did. Took it to shoot it, it would only shoot the first bullet then stop and not feed the next round. Tried again, same thing. Looked inside and it looks like yellow arm is where it is suppose to be. Tried again and it will not fire at all!!!!!!!!!!!! Crap. So I will fiddle around with it and see if the "placement" of yellow arm looks correct. Hopefully when I go try it again it will work. I've been cleaning and shooting about 45 different guns (trading many for others) over about 15 years and have never had a problem like this.

FYI: The shield had a magazine safety and WILL NOT discharge without the mag in place.

Perhaps with some models. Maybe newer models?
The ones I have seen, including my own, do fire without a magazine, and it is labeled on one side of the gun "capable of firing without a magazine."

I personally like to clean mine with a fully loaded mag still in it, and try to clean around the chambered round. It's such a hassle to unload. Then instead of editing or jump cutting, I like to do it in one take, discharges and all. After the gun has finally discharged all remaining rounds, I give it a final patch through the barrel and then it's off to upload the video!

free up the safety and the slide lock. Thanks again real good simple video.

Dude you sound like aa neophyte. ALL CHECK. Trigger pull is no concern, pull trigger is easiest to fieldstrip.
