And I’m not the best cook so I stressed through out this process because it wasn’t cheap. And with the added pressure of being told you can’t go wrong Mum it’s easy. So I tripled the ingredients I guessed he used and stuck it in the fridge for 3 days. I was so nervous when it was sliced by my daughter that I held my breath for her reaction and I was so relieved with the response. We took it to our family gathering and it was loved by everyone including myself. So grateful I accomplished a recipe I would not have attempted ever. If asked I would do it again. Be safe and protected in 2021 everyone!!
Btw, for those who say it's raw, 1: sushi is raw. Salmon is popular in nigiri sushi 2: curing is basically cooking it without heat. There's a reason it's called "cold cooking"

This is quite close to Swedish "gravad salmon" when only salt, sugar and dill is used. Pad it around the salmon and into the fridge, turn the fish regularly, ready in 2 days. But we slice it more "slanted" to get much larger slices. That could be done here as well, of course with some left-overs at start and end. Great tip for a variation of "gravad salmon"!

It's not a gravy/ purée if it does not have Ginger Garlic paste in it. You can always make deep cuts into the fish and fill it with marination... You know if you wanna try something different! Also throw in some turmeric to kill off the stench.

I made this and honestly it's absolutely fucking gorgeous. I'm bulking at the moment and hitting the gym and I don't really enjoy eating chicken that much so I buy a whole salmon from my fish monger and then make this and I have it with my lunch every day for the week with my salad with homemade croutons. 100% recommend making this it's beautiful words can't explain the flavour sensation in your mouth after the first bite :

You have to cure it longer...its still 'raw' on the inside. If you want sashimi with a flavor crust then by all means try this recipe but gravlax takes a little longer!
