Excellent review. Just bought these, have taken them out three times and they’re a major advancement from what I’ve had. They make you want to get out on the hiking trail. I just gotta figure out how to care for them now.
Hello Rick Pleased you have enjoyed using them. I have found that the best way to keep them in good condition is to use Nikwax products, link tidd.ly/3Zp7XkU If you were to use the link and purchase, I would receive a small payment from the company, at no cost to you. This helps me keeping the channel going. Many thanks and enjoy the outdoors. David.
Good review but I find a good test for waterproofing is getting up early morning on trail and walking through wet dew laden meadow. Did you go through any extended wetness walking? I've been thinking of getting these boots. All the best. Mark
Hello. The boots have been through most conditions, including early morning wet grass and ferns on the fells, and they have not leaked, apart from wet and damp coming over the tops of the boot where I was not wearing gaiters. All in all, a great pair of boots. i hope this helps. David
Hi. Are these the "Scarpa Rush LT GTX"? I was looking at rush LT GTX today and really liked them so was looking for independent reviews. I know there is a Rush Pro that is leather or something and the Rush LT is canvas. Can yiu please confirm? Thanks :)
Hello Steve Good to hear from you. The boots are Men's Rush Trk GORE-TEX® Hiking Boot. Could I suggest you visit the PWW website for the full review and weblinks planwatchwalk.guide/scarpa-rush-trek-gtx-walking-boot-review/ If you have any more questions, just drop me a line. @@planwatchwalk thanks for the reply. The model I tried on are the same as yours but the LT version. They were new out in Spring 2023. I really liked them. I walk around 50 miles a week so am trying to decide on another pair of Moab merrel mod gtx or moving up to these. Cheers
Great to hear from you, pleased you liked the review. It depends on what the terrain will be; if there is a lot of climbing and heavy scree you may need a more ridged boot. The boot is essentially a fell walking and is good on the mountains as well; I have used them in all of these conditions as it has performed well. As far as cushioning is concerned. These boots are great; I mention in the video that they are like slippers. I have changed out the inner soles for super feet, but this is purely a personal choice. Any more questions, just let me know. Enjoy your walking. David
Thanks. I like the boot I am size 10 uk , 44 EU , Those are 9 1/2 UK I tried them and they are good fit. I checked other scarpa boots and for the summer those I think will be ok. I want the boots but what bothers me is the weight , when you go above 500 grams ... and those they say size 42 550 idk size 44 will be 600 ish maybe. They are great they will give me peace of mind in the mountain but maybe for summer will be too much ... I am still deciding.
Hello! Please tell me something about the cushioning of the heel of the boot. I am thinking here of the inner memory foam layer as well as the hardness of the outer sole. I have heel bone pain and problems, so very good cushioning is very important. Thank you so much!
Hello. Thanks for your comments. The cushioning of the innersole I cannot pass comment on as I used a pair of superfeet . The cushioning at the base of the heel is on the harder side, for stability, but around the ankle bone there is plenty of cushioning. I hope this helps. Any other questions, just let me know. David.

Hello I haven't trialed the Pro version, but looking at the specification the main difference appears to be upper and the weight, as well as the innersole From my perspective, after hiking many 100's of miles, i do not have any problems with the upper, weight wise i would not be too concerned with 30grams difference in weight. Hi David, great review and I'm going to get a pair but opt for the Pro version I think. I wanted to ask a question. Did you size up with these? There is not 42.5. I'm an 8 but I am thinking of a 9 as on treks I always wear two socks. I did read somewhere that they are size half a size larger than shoes. I wanted to ask your opinion. Great review. Best out there on these boots
@@davidcoxon4710 Many thanks for the feedback. When I am buying walking shoes/boots I always take half or full size larger than i would normally buy in a shoe. As you say, thicker socks, but also when you have a longer trek, your feet can expand, and it is better to have some room. You can always fine adjust the fit with the lace system. Hope this helps. David.
Hello. I have used these mainly on the fells and mountains, and some scree/rocky mountains. I have walked over 350/400 miles in them and there is very little wear on the soles. The rigidity of the boot is still good. Hope this helps. David.

@@prchise That is not such an easy questions to answer, here goes... The last boot I used had Vibra soles, although they were quite old. My view is that the grip is better and the overall regidity of this boot is better. I mention in the video that you can 'lock off' the lacing system at mid point. This certainly helps to adjust the overall feel and fit to different conditions. Hope this helps. David.
