- Welcome to another video and my first impressions of my new SCARPA RUSH TRK GTX- if you e watched my videos from the start you may of seen that I got the SCARPA MAVERICK GTX boots earlier ln the year and I’ve been wearing them all year. They where brilliant but I got a small issue with them. I sent the back to Scarpa they where going to repair them but because I’m going hiking this weekend they sent me the RUSH TRK GTX as a replacement. Thanks again scarpa for that. Hope you enjoy my 1st look at the new boots.

I've had these now for a year, used almost daily. They are the best boots I've ever owned and when cleaned they still look new.
Aye they are brilliant boots 🥾. Probably the best I’ve owned also. Thanks for watching and commenting
Really great vid, thanks for all the information and detail! Think you’ve helped make my mind up and buy a pair
Hope you like them as much as I do
I really like the look of them, I tend to use trail runners or walking shoes but one day I'm gonna try some boots, great video,I thought I was subbed to you, well I am now anyway 😅😂 good video keep it up
Thanks pal 👍. They feel comfortable straight out the box but tbf my other scarpa boots did also. Review videos ain’t really my thing but people like to see the gear so I have a go lol. Looking forward to testing them out for real tho. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊🏼
good
The PRESA soles on my Scarpa shoes began to wear out even after I brushed them before use. I know that there are several types of PRESA with a balance of tenacity and durability against wet rocks, but is the outsole durable?
I can only go off how mine have currently preformed but I’ve had no issues with the soles and I done 100s of Kms in them in lots of different terrain. I find them very good when it comes to descending rocky terrain. I’ve been very happy with them 👊🏼. Walking in the mountains they will definitely wear out at some point but if I get two years out of a good boot I’m pretty happy
Mine may have been an early model before improvements were made, but just by brushing the soles with a stiff brush before wearing them, the surface started to wear out. I regret.
Hello. Are these 3 seasons boots (sprint to autumn ? ) Thanks.
IMO you can use these in winter in the right conditions with the right socks. They are fire-tex so offer great waterproof quality just pair them with warm waterproof socks and you should be fine. If you’re in snow and ice on moderate hiking trails you can always wear micro spikes to help prevent slipping.
These are also resoleable (no idea how to spell it... so, they can put another sole on lets say) a big plus for ppl like me who destroy the sole a long time before the uppers. And if I try these on and I they feel right I'm treating myself today.
I really like them very light and comfortable. Let me know how you get on 👍
@Walkingwildcampinguk I will do. Helps that they look pretty cool as well and with my black montane terras I think I'm gonna look the biz lol. But seriously it helps that they also look pretty funky.
Hi, would this be suitable for winter hiking/walking on a snowy surface?
Check out my Snowdon and Scafell pike videos to see them in snow and ice 👍. I’d always pair them with micro spikes in icy conditions tho. I recommend everyone having micro spikes in their winter kit tho. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊🏼
Hi, could be suitable for snow hiking and snowshoeing? Thank you
They are gore-tex so waterproof. Not sure how warm they’ll be in winter and snow but they are very comfortable. With decent socks and micro spikes I’m sure they’d be good in winter ❄️
Thanks Mossy for the great content! Which socks do you use?
I use Bridgedale socks 🧦 they are waterproof so 2X the the protection boom lol 😂 thanks for watching and commenting
@@Walkingwildcampinguk TY! What about sweating with that socks?
@VincentPerlinger I’ve not had an issue but my feet don’t get that sweaty tbh lol 😂
@@Walkingwildcampinguk Thanks anyway. I bought that shoes now (thanks again for this video). I'm fully fresh blood in hiking and don't want to make mistakes with that "basics" let's say just on the beginning. Not going for wet tracks for now but want to have soft socks, if u know what I mean... Or do you have a better choise for socks for A/B or B tracks?
Which one did you end up liking better, the Maverick or the Rush?
They are very different boots. I’d say the Maverick have great padding and support around the ankle but the Rush is a better all round option and feels lighter. If possible always try get fitted in store 👌🏼. I’d definitely buy both of them again.
It is actually genuine suede
I believe so 👌🏼 they look mint 👊🏼
Hi mate,
Do you go a full size up in these boots ?
I got these in a size 11 and I’m normally a 10 or 10.5 depending on the make of shoes
@@Walkingwildcampinguk thanks for the reply. I’m looking for a new set of boots as my berghaus ones have seen better days. I haven’t sized up in the past and get the squashed toes when coming back down. So think I will size up in these. I’m also a size 10 and 100% looking for all round comfort. Your review seems spot on and full of information for these boots as I also suffer from planter fasciitis from running.
@AnthDuffy-dn7ks is say 11 should be spot on for you mate. Definitely sizing up has helped me with that awful pain of your toes squeezing against the toe box don’t get that at all now. I do love Scarpa tho and they have excellent customer service also
@@Walkingwildcampinguk thank you mate. Busy looking at them now. What’s the furtherest mileage you’ve covered in them in one go? I’ve got the Windermere lap in May and undecided on boots or trainers for it.
@AnthDuffy-dn7ks I’ve done 20+ mile days in them no problem. I also have trail shoes and hiking trainers I’ve been trying as I’m walking the Cumbria Way in May. I’ll have to make a video about witch shoes a pick lol 😂
It is actually genuine suede.
They are a great boot 🥾 👌🏼 thanks for watching and commenting 👍. They are light and comfortable a couple more walks and I’ll made a review video of them
Mine started leaking after 6 months
Sorry to hear that mate. What was you cleaning and treating them with ? Did you have a decent waterproofing system
They look lovely them Mossy. I bet they are really comfortable mate. Fair play to Scarpa for sending them out so quickly. 😀🥾⛰👍
They had them for a week before they opened them so I called Wednesday cuz I need them for weekend. They said it would be another week or so. They said they’d send me a new pair as I needed them for the weekend 👍 fair enough but I’d of been happy get mine back tbh. Good customer tho on the whole. These look a great boot as well 👌🏼🥾
