@Pistonrager as one who has had orange cream soda and vanilla it's hard to beat a vanilla dream combo o.o even classic root beer floats borderline can't compete o.o
When I read your post , my mind instantly went to the vinegar and it sounded gross, but actual warm Apple Cider is amazing. I need to make this sometime.
Carmel Apple Float. 1 cup ginger ale, 0.5 cups cider, 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and then drizzle the top with caramel sauce. I try to make this once every fall.
@@alexdillahunt6908 I had a float once with ginger ale and caramel (or maybe it was creme brulee?) ice cream, and that was delicious - and this sounds even better! I am screenshotting the recipe and saving it for next autumn!
Vanilla-Any soda Chocolate-Dark/spiced (good root beer, Dr Pepper, Coke, Cream Soda, etc), some fruit/berry depending on combo Sorbet/Sherbert- Cream soda, fruit/berry/citrus soda (Crush, Fanta, Jones, Squirt, etc) Peppermint-Sprite, spiced soda Fruit/berry-Sprite, fruit/berry soda, dark/spiced soda Forgot ginger ale; sorbet/sherbert (lime in particular), vanilla, fruit/berry, and mint I think orange soda and vanilla is good like orange creamsicle flavor, or sorbet/sherbert and squirt
I had to look up what egg cream was because I thought there was like an eggnog beverage. Pleasently suprised theres no egg in it, just flavoured fizzy milk that can be used as a substitute for soda in a float, not sure why its offensive. But nothing beats a good rootbeer float in my opinion.
When I lived in Montana, the little burger joint I worked at, we served Chocolate Coke. It blew my mind that such a thing existed, by the time I left it was a meme.😂
I mix lemon and lime zest and lemon and lime juice into vanilla ice cream, then you can match the improv lemon-lime ice cream with sprite, cola or pretty much any soda that goes well with lemon.
Yes! Not that I have had a float in a long time, but Vernors with vanilla is so good, and one time I had it with a caramel ice cream - and that was even better!
@@final_catalyst oh man I never realized but that makes sense. I'm a California resident (parents from michigan which is why i know about vernors) so I don't get to have vernors often enough to pick up on specific changes but I've definitely felt less satisfied with it than I used to be. Thought I was just getting old and losing my sweet tooth. Still great (and the best soda for floats) but less great than before
I’m so disappointed none of them said orange soda and vanilla. Imo it’s a fuckin thousand times better than a root beer float and I will die on that hill
I actually do love rocky road with root beer, it’s my fave combo 😂 the chocolate covered nuts at the end are an extra lil treat Edited to add: when I was pregnant with my youngest I had the worst craving for a sonic drink: sprite or 7up with strawberry syrup, dehydrated strawberry pieces, crunchy ice, and vanilla soft serve all mixed together and it was heaven. So maybe that’s my favorite, but only when I’m pregnant
When I was younger, my family would go this buffet every Sunday. Whenever my grandpa came with, he’d make me a float by putting plain buffet vanilla ice cream (the ones in those small containers with the wooden “spoon”) in his drink. Can’t remember what drink it was and looking back it was kinda gross in theory but it’s the only float I’ve ever liked.
“Egg creams are disgusting!” Somewhere in the world, Grant feels a chill down his spine, and he doesn’t know why 😂
Cream Soda with Orange Sherbet
That was gonna be my recommendation, it’s so good. And now I’m pissed at Steak & Shake all over again for discontinuing their orange freeze…
i was gonna say something similar but with raspberry! 😋
I was gonna say orange soda and vanilla icecream but this is better.
This and orange soda with vanilla are my go-to
@Pistonrager as one who has had orange cream soda and vanilla it's hard to beat a vanilla dream combo o.o even classic root beer floats borderline can't compete o.o
As a Chilean. Pineapple ice cream in any artificial fruit soda like Bilz or Sprite. A classic !!!!
Yooo i gotta try that next time I get my hands on those. Hard to get them in the states, but not impossible!
Y'all are onto something... gonna have to give it a shot myself! I'd bet it doesn't work as well with sorbet, it's missing that creamy factor
Cinnamon Ice Cream and Apple Cider.
My husband had it once and he's been searching for the same high ever since. It's just an Apple Pie in float form.
This sounds incredible with a hard cider!
When I read your post , my mind instantly went to the vinegar and it sounded gross, but actual warm Apple Cider is amazing.

Vanilla-Any soda
Chocolate-Dark/spiced (good root beer, Dr Pepper, Coke, Cream Soda, etc), some fruit/berry depending on combo
Sorbet/Sherbert- Cream soda, fruit/berry/citrus soda (Crush, Fanta, Jones, Squirt, etc)
Peppermint-Sprite, spiced soda
Fruit/berry-Sprite, fruit/berry soda, dark/spiced soda
Forgot ginger ale; sorbet/sherbert (lime in particular), vanilla, fruit/berry, and mint
I think orange soda and vanilla is good like orange creamsicle flavor, or sorbet/sherbert and squirt
Peppermint Sprite sounds heavenly, thanks for the idea!
Lime sherbet and ginger ale is a classic, but I totally don't think of it as a float because I've only ever had it as a punch.
sorbet in a ginger ale or any kind of lemon or lime soda actually sounds so heavenly
Glad to see the comments are more “gastronaut” then the the judges themselves 👏 This is a question worth going for, and I think I will 🍦🥤
Rum and coke (classic coke, Captain Morgan spiced rum), Breyer's French Vanilla
Michigan special - blue moon and faygo rock n rye
Ginger beer, lime sorbet
That sounds interesting. I might have to try that some time.
Ooooh that sounds very fun
Classy
Haven't had any floats in recent memory but thinking on it black raspberry and Dr.Pepper sounds nice.
I had to look up what egg cream was because I thought there was like an eggnog beverage. Pleasently suprised theres no egg in it, just flavoured fizzy milk that can be used as a substitute for soda in a float, not sure why its offensive.

They don't like seltzer, which is fair enough. Seltzer and I are on thin ice
I'm normally a seltzer hater, but I love egg creams, I think the memory of stirring it over the sink as a kid is more valuable
let me put y’all on. white russian with a coffee ice cream or cookies and cream ice cream absolutely rocks.
Oh! a mudslide!
When I lived in Montana, the little burger joint I worked at, we served Chocolate Coke. It blew my mind that such a thing existed, by the time I left it was a meme.😂
Vernors and vanilla ice cream
This is the way
I mix lemon and lime zest and lemon and lime juice into vanilla ice cream, then you can match the improv lemon-lime ice cream with sprite, cola or pretty much any soda that goes well with lemon.
Big red makes the best float ever.
Vernors! Vernors! Vernors! Vernors!
Yes! Not that I have had a float in a long time, but Vernors with vanilla is so good, and one time I had it with a caramel ice cream - and that was even better!
Yeah, sadly they changed like 15 years ago (still good but no where near as good as it used to be)
@@final_catalyst I agree that it's not as good as it used to be!

Pepsi Max and Vanilla ice cream. Something in the Max makes the ice cream get a crunchy outer layer.
Australian here, gotta be Fanta with vanilla
i’ve had cinnamon ice cream and apple cider at the fair; not too shabby
Vanilla with a dark soda is my go to
Actual beer floats are a neglected category.
Guinness and vanilla, for example.
i just bought rainbow sherbert and i have a stash of orange soda and now i know what i'm doing this weekend
peach nehi and vanilla ice cream. Absolutely amazing and worth trying
Club soda and any ice cream makes for a refreshing not-too-sweet float.
Around the holidays if you can find a candy cane/peppermint ice cream add that to some Big Red/red creme soda
Green tea and ginger ale
Vanilla Ice Cream, Faygo Rockin’ Rye.
From Michigan?
Apple cider and vanilla bean ice cream with a cinnamon stick garnish
I actually do love rocky road with root beer, it’s my fave combo 😂 the chocolate covered nuts at the end are an extra lil treat

As a kid, the church would make big punch bowls of sprite and rainbow sherbert. It was so damn good
Ginger beer with rum-raisin. And rum if you want it to be an adult drink. The hardest part is finding the rum-raisin ice cream.
Dr. Pepper & strawberry ice cream
*no chuncks*
My favorite is lemon sorbet in Coke. Delicious.
rainbow sherbet in sprite or punch works really well
I’ve heard Orange sherbet (but the kind that has vanilla ice cream in it) and Sprite are good, but I’ve not tried it myself
An egg cream has neither egg, nor cream. It’s seltzer, milk and chocolate syrup, kind of like a fizzy chocolate milk.
I like Rainbow Sherbet and Sprite, it's very refreshing. I would also argue that caramel ice cream with cream soda is VERY good.
Raspberry sorbet and sprite for me 😊
Lime sherbet with sprite is goated
Sprite and any sherbert
Sprite and Rainbow Sherbet
Orange sherbet and orange soda
That just seems redundant at a certain point.
Sherbet and Sprite. It's so good
Hear me out, gingerale with french vanilla ice cream, strawberry with cream cheese ice cream, cherry cream soda with pistachio ice cream!
Ginger Ale and Vanilla is underrated.
I've enjoyed a fancy cherry soda with vanilla before!
2/3 egg nog, 1/3 sprite, and vanilla ice cream
Coffee ice cream in a big mug of coffee. Cold or hot coffee. It's not soda but the ice cream is floating in the beverage.
Grapefruit soda and vanilla ice cream
Sprite and sherbet

In anime I saw a lot of floats that use melon soda and what looks like vanilla ice cream. I made one myself and it was lovely.
Only had it one time, but root beer ice cream and vanilla soda
Cherry coke and vanilla ice cream for me im a sucker for a cherry vanilla combo
Sprite and orange sherbert/rainbow sherbert is pretty good. I also like milk and orange sherbert
Chocolate with dr. Pepper is amazing
Cold brew coffee and chocolate ice cream
Hear me out: mint chocolate ice cream and Fresca. It has absolutely no business tasting as good as it does!
My mom at Thanksgiving used to make a “punch” for us kids that was just Squirt soda and orange sherbet and that shit was so fuckin fire
gotta be dash attack up-air up-air nair, armada used to hit it all the time
Rainbow sherbet and ginger ale (best if you can get the blackberry ginger ale)
I tried strawberry ice cream with blackberry soda a looong time ago and have been wanting to recreate it
Cream soda and cotton candy ice cream
Un refresco de toronja con una bola de helado de guanábana 💯
Sasparilla and pistachio ice cream, don't judge me lol
Sprite and coconut ice cream
Ramune and strawberry icecream
Ah chocolate coke, a charlotte delicacy (they don’t make it by just putting chocolate syrup in coke. I think. but it’s the flavor concept)
lemon or lime sorbet and monster. its soooo wrong but it tastes so right
that just means more seltzer for me
sprite & orange sherbet ftw
I thought this would be Peach float combos 💀
Baja blast and vanilla
Orange sherbet and Finnish Long Drink
Hi-C fruit punch with vanilla. You have to mix it, though
yall gotta try a coke float but with cherry ice cream and chocoate syrup, it's decadent af
Melon soda and vanilla ice cream
Sprite and rainbow sherbert
Orange soda plus chocolate ice cream. A delicious surprise!
Coke and French vanilla is really superior
Weirdest float I’ve ever done that was actually good imo was cherry cola with mint chocolate chip
Chocolate and Cheerwine
Ube Fanta
I like sherbet and sprite
The other ideas didn’t have additional sugar syrups, so she left?
Me watching this in belgian disgust🤢
Yall are cowards, 7up with any serbet
