The entire industry is giving up v6s because of federal admission requirements. Everyone is complained about the V6 and V8 going away but this is something that is going to happen more and more and honestly there is nothing any of us can do about it.
I sold Nissans for 6 years, and I have a 2021 Rogue Platinum AWD. I like the Rock Creek edition. I wish they'd bring back the Xterra. I'd prefer 4wd over awd for an off-road vehicle. Looks great, though. You're hilarious!😂
I like how the refreshed Sentra, Kicks, Ariya and now Murano have completely revamped Nissan’s brand identity… this rogue and new armada look very different compared to Nissan’s new design language especially in the front.
To all the naysayers about the engine and the CVT, did you even get behind the wheel and try it? I’ve driven the 23 rogue and it’s just fine, no complaints.
Well that's just it, the Rogue was designed to be "just fine". Its a disposable car used purely for utility. No character, no identity. Which is fine if thats what you're looking for in a car, but some people just want more out of their investment.
True. My disposable rogue is a 2009 rogue and we have a second which is a 2013 Rogue. Not sure what disposable means? Does it mean it won’t last 15 years? Getting rid of the 2013 this year for a Rock Creek. Excited to get a new car but it’s more than 60-% over what I paid for the 2013.
@@Macsleuth no one said it was. The word investment doesnt always mean growing in value like stocks or a 401k. Investment just means putting in something (money) to get something out of it (the use of a car).
Looking to upgrade my 2013 rogue to a Rock Creek. Only problem with the 2013 is sunroof leaks near the pillar in rain when the runoff tube is full of debris. And my driver airbag light started blinking this weekend.
Personally , I would feel better about their variable compensation engines after they have been around a few more years to prove they are repairable and durable. More importantly, in my opinion, the money would have been better spent on hybrid electrification.
Joe, I love ya man, but using the words "Rogue" and "Xterra" in the same breath is a sacrilege. Red lava stickers and an extra inch do not.an Xterra make!
The Nissan Rogue Rock Creek is a special edition of the popular Nissan Rogue SUV. It features unique styling elements, like black exterior accents, special badging, and rugged interior touches.
Do you own one ? Have you driven one. Thats a hard no im sure. I own one. And this 1.5 liter was designed by infinty. It is great . It's smooth, quiet , sounds almost like a V6 when you get on it. Its better than any other 1.5 liter out there , thays for sure
The 3-cylinder is a no go for me. You'll find many reviews about problems with this new unique engine. I'd talked with a Nissan mechanic and almost all 1.5 engines have had to have their plastic oil pans replaced. The oil drain plug is stripping out of the plastic oil pans. They need to bring back their tried and true old 2.5 four cylinder motor which got great MPG and had around 180 horsepower.
Neither this Nissan Rogue or the Hyundai Tucson are off road vehicles, both have lots of plastic everywhere including underneath, no metal skidplates and the fake tow hooks, etc just make it look cheap. Both are good enough for gravel roads but so are most cars. The interior on this Nissan Rogue still looks dated IMO with a smallish bland looking infotainment and tiny door pockets and lots of gloss black, etc.
Nissan Xterra doesn't break. So it's pointless to even make anymore. The one I have has only 60K miles. Never had one issue. My buddy has 153K on his and only thing that gave him some problems was the belt. Oh and yeah, and about this Nissan Rogue. Whatever.
This is not for off road hence no recovery hooks and skid plates. Maybe for the back roads and unpaved roads but that's about it. Just a rugged looking Mall crawler. I love Nissan but I'll pass. Take this to the woods and you are coming back on foot.
$36k for a 3-cyl 1.5L turbo mated to a CVT? Hard fkn pass. This car is worth maybe $26k retail MSRP. That puny over torqued little engine is going to crap out at 130k miles with the kind of weight it has to move around.
So they are still using that variable compression engine? Lol . In 23 450k of them were under investigation for being a pile of crap, than throw in Nissan's wonderful cvts.what could go wrong.. xd
They just make disposable cars for poor people to lease without leasing. The fact that they refuse to make real xterras prove they're not looking to make quality durable stuff anymore

Nissan needs to stop messing around and really bring back the xterra
Never going to happen.
Nissan’s too broke for that.
Unless the X-Terra sold overseas is ok with Americans.
Give us the detuned V6 engine.
1.5L damn. CVT. Hard pass.
Its not coming back. They are about affordability and vehicles arent selling right now of course you know why.
I just subscribed about a week ago. Joe you are the best to watch show a vehicle. I learn a lot have a good laugh. Great job
Thanks for joining the Raiti’s Rides family! I’m glad I can share my passion of cats with you!
Been watching Joe since he was talking a Twinkies cup cakes
They need to bring back the Xterra and make it a bad ass off road
My Xterra had a 6-speed manual V-6. Joe gave up the game when the first “feature” he talked about were the 6 new colors.
The entire industry is giving up v6s because of federal admission requirements. Everyone is complained about the V6 and V8 going away but this is something that is going to happen more and more and honestly there is nothing any of us can do about it.
Goonies reference was wonderful Joe. Cool little Nissan that has the potential to be a fun and useful crossover.

Definitely no substitute for an xterra
Good job, Joe, of showing us how this Rock Creek Rogue performs off-road. I've learned how to deal with blood sucking leaches.
Excellent video brother and awesome work as usual Lori, you are the queen of camera work 👌
Thats a pretty sharp vehicle

Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
I love all the Nissan haters coming out! Many other vehicles have a CVT. I have this color on my Pathfinder❤ Looks good Joe.

This Rouge looks great, but the CVT and no sunroof is a no go. Nissan needs to X the CVT.
Its time for some gauge changes Nissan. We need some orange instead of those basic looking dials they use on every Nissan model except for a few.
It looks cute and rude at the same time.

Want that 1.5T in the Rogue Sport, er, I mean the latest Kicks. As they are selling both of these vehicles currently, I don't want either one.

It really does look like a NISSAN XTERA

When is the PHEV Rogue coming?
Marketing badges…. A Honda civic could do that course

Drop in that 3.8L motor and 9 speed auto from the frontier and then we can have the Xterra conversation.... not that it would fit.

Nissan already having problems with that engine with excessive bearing wear down the road they may have to replace them.
