    The beginning of the video is her and her brother having a toast. They rode motorcycles together heavy with the crew but he died right before this album so she has his motorcycle key as a necklace in the video.

    Other Latifah joints to check: JUST ANOTHER DAY, LATIFAH’S HAD IT UP TO HERE, WRATH OF MY MADNESS, BLACK HAND SIDE, the BRANDY song I WANNA BE DOWN (Remix feat MC LYTE, YO-YO, QUEEN LATIFAH), the posse cut by the FLAVOR UNIT MC’S - ROLL WIT THA FLAVA (video is recommended for that one).

    Queen La wrote this really well banging beat, banging vocals on the chorus, love the adlibs in there as well, the verses written with a sick rhyme scheme and flow and her bars were hard hitting this song is slept on cause no one wants to hear this type of message

      Slept on?! This is a women's anthem in Hip Hop! One of the most important songs made. Calling out treatment of women by men who need to learn something. This was not slept on by any means.

    At the beginning of the video they show her wearing a key on her necklace. It's the key of her brothers motorcycle. They used to ride together and were very close. He died in a motorcycle crash. She wore that key for years.

    Nice track choice 😅
    Btw - Idk if you noticed, but guy talking to girl in first verse is Vin Rock from Naughty By Nature ;p
    They been from same crew as Latifah. They even mentioned that at their album on track "the hood comes first"

    Wish more of the youth would tap in to music like this. I just saw French Montanas video shoot get shot up and it made me think about how quote unquote conscious music never had the issues street music had and took on. Young ppl need to get off the druggy, steppin’, thotting and other goofy shit crippling OUR community.

    Back when mainstream hip hop had a positive message to kick to the listeners...conscious female emcees before the hoes, bwords, strippers took over in the mainstream.

    • @PRSPR
      @PRSPR ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They definitely corrupted mainstream rap because there are no conscious female emcees in the mainstream nowadays, all the ones I know are underground female emcees and there aren’t even that many too. It was refreshing to hear Queen Latifah kick a positive message
