    Good explanation mam.tq
    In my dishwasher hardness setting is kept 4 by the technician But when I had filled salt for the first time,1kg salt was not absorbed by the machine.Then technician filled the salt by stirring with spoon.Is it correct mam? For the past 6 months the machine did not indicate " refill salt". Is there any block in the salt compartment? Every one month interval, the machine indicates "refill rinseaid". Is there any block in the salt compartment? I am much worried. Please clarify my doubt.

      Can you please specify your brand and model number? Also I would like to know your water hardness.
      I don't think stirring makes any difference.
      Anyway there seems to be an issue with your salt sensor.
      Btw, how is the cleaning in all these months?
      Please reply so that I can help you.

      Hi where do you live? Without adding salt were you getting good cleaning? If so I think your water must be very soft or you must be using only tablets. If not which detergent are you using always? Eager to know.
      Surprising that your salt indicator isn't working/blinking. By any chance have you kept your salt setting at 0? Please check. Either that must be the case or the salt indicator must be faulty, else by now you should have got the indication of salt being low.

    Hi I have just brought a Siemens dishwasher and have used it with finish all in one tablets. Since I don’t have a full load of vessels every day I would like to try using the detergent rinse aid and salt combo. I live in Navi Mumbai. We get municipal water supply which is soft. Am not sure about what should be the salt and rinse aid settings as the technician did not know himself. If I use the lowest settings that is 01 for both will it leave a white film? The all in one tablets work very well without any salt or rinse aid added in the auto mode. Thanks 🙏

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, for the kind of soft water in Mumbai, the lowest setting of salt and rinse aid is okay when used with detergent. Also you can use very little quantity of detergent.
      Many Mumbai viewers write that they even avoid using salt and rinse aid. I would not recommend that though.
      In case you are happy with the tablet and you have only half load, you can try using half tablet. I've done this many times and found it effective.
      I'm sure you should not be getting any white film with the above settings. In case you happen to get it regularly, you can increase the setting by one level.
      Thanks.

    Mam, I have one month old IFB neptune vx plus dishwasher, it was not cleaning properly even after required salt & rinse aid settings. There was a white film on every utensil, which I have to clean with damp cloth or wash it under tap water. I have tried increasing and decreasing of salt and rinse aid settings but the cleaning is still not good enough. Increasing rinse aid leads to foaming of utensils .
    Then I tried adding a half a tea spoon or 2- 3 pinch of table salt with fortune detergent (I only add the table salt to detergent compartment),salt & rinse aid as per manual and the result was surprisingly very good.
    Should I continue to do so??
    Or it will harm my dishwasher in longer terms?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @S Sinha, Sorry for the delay in replying. Actually the manufacturers ask us to use pure Sodium Chloride. Table salt has iodine and anti caking agents. I am not sure whether these will harm the machine in the long run. Hopefully it should not cause any damage. Since it is a small quantity you are using, you could continue using it. I am surprised how this is effective and am trying to understand this. Anyway thanks for sharing.

      Hi @Nagarathinam, I'm sure in most households people soak their used utensils with water until they are washed. This is usually done for manual wash. I follow the same for dishwasher as well. After emptying cooked vessels I keep them under water in the sink. Before loading in the dishwasher, I just throw the water and load them. This way the stuck particles also easily come off.
      Yes there are many people who do not like to keep any dishes in the sink, so they keep loading dishes as and when they are finished/used, by just removing big particles stuck on them. You can do that. But only thing is you have to choose the correct program cycle and the right brand and quantity of detergent to get good cleaning.
      In many of my Dishwasher demo videos (I have uploaded 50 videos in all, covering various topics, till date) I have shown loading and arranging the dishes. I am sharing links of all the videos as a playlist here. Please watch each of them fully whenever you find time. Hi Sabeena Alnuhasi. Thank you very much for your appreciation. I am happy my videos are helping you learn and become familiar with your new dishwasher. Hope this helps make your life easier.
      Regarding your queries, my point wise reply is as follows --
      1. Many people have asked me this and I want to say that rinse aid is not mandatory. Company recommends the use of rinse aid but if you have any doubts you are free NOT to use it. I don't think it affects the cleaning in any way. Rinse aid only helps in the last stage, ie. drying of the utensils. If you are not using rinse aid, the only difference is that the utensils after wash may not be dry and may have water drops on them.
      2. Detergent powder is only the cleaning soap. There is no rinse aid or salt in it. Whereas the detergent tablets are a mix of detergent, rinse aid and salt (all in one).
      You could check out my videos where I have made a comparison of the different detergents and tablets. Besides I have also posted videos showing individual results of different detergents and tablet. If you go through the playlist below, you will get all the different videos posted by me -

      Hi, You have understood right only partly. My answers to your queries : -
      A1) I have not mentioned in my earlier reply that you need not use rinse aid and salt provided your water is very soft. If your water is hard, then based on the water hardness you will have to adjust your rinse aid and salt setting. In case water in your locality is soft, and you will only be using tablets, then you can set both rinse aid and salt to zero or at the most to the minimum setting, as specified in your user manual. This is because the manufacturer does not recommend running salt and rinse aid compartment empty. Because even soft water has dissolved salts to some extent. Using rinse aid and salt by keeping them in minimum setting will help you extend the life of the machine, by protecting from lime scale formation.
      A2) To the best of my knowledge, you can get all your consumables for dishwasher and a good price from Amazon.in. I am sharing the buying link below :
      amzn.to/2NbAncc - Finish Powerball Classic - 110 Tablets
      amzn.to/2P2xvzW - Finish All in 1 Max Powerball, 60 Tablets

      amzn.to/2NUOXtD - Crystale Starter Combo - Dihswasher Tablet and Dishwasher Salt
      amzn.to/2NTNdAZ - Crystale Dishwasher Rinse Aid forCrystal Shine - 500 ml
      You can click the links to find the FINISH brand products as well as Crystale products. You can compare the prices yourself. For which brand to opt for you can see my detergent comparision video. The company's (BOSCH) recommendation and my first choice is FINISH.
      Hope I have answered your queries satisfactorily. Thank you.

      But in case you're going to use tablets for a longer period, it would be better to reduce the salt and rinse aid setting.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rajesh, salt consumption depends on the hardness(salt) setting in your machine.
      Check at what level you have kept the salt setting.
      If your setting is high and the water is hard, consumption will be faster.
      You need not and should not remove water. If the salt indicator light is ON, add more salt. Maybe you did not fill enough salt the very first time.
      Fill at least half a kilo of salt.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jamie, thanks for your query. Since it is just two months of your dishwasher, I am sure you must have filled a good amount of salt the very first time which is why the salt light indicator has not come on.
      Also how much salt is consumed is dependent on the salt setting in your machine, which is usually done on the basis of water quality. Soft water consumes less salt and hard water much more.
      I have soft water in my locality and hence i have adjusted my salt setting to 1. For this setting and my usage of mixed cycle of long and short program, I can roughly say that 1 kg lasts about 4 - 6 months.
      You can arrive at the frequency of refilling salt and the quantity required by noting 2 to 3 consecutive times when the light comes on, by noting how much you refill in between.
      Hope this answers your query.
      Thanks.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you have to fill water the first time you fill salt in any dishwasher. I have shown this in LG dishwasher as well as in Voltas Beko tabletop dishwasher.
      You can watch them here:
      Filling salt in LG dishwasher-
      th-cam.com/video/pIFZpinuMbU/w-d-xo.html
      Filling salt in Voltas Beko:
      th-cam.com/video/TKO8kdDHeLw/w-d-xo.html
      The procedure is more or less the same. Some brands recommend adding water simultaneously, or later.
      In Bosch you have to add water first, i e. full till the top of the compartment and then add the salt. The water will overflow, but you can keep adding almost a kilogram of salt.
      I'll make a video of this in a day or two.

    Do you prerinse the dishes

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sudha, I do not pre rinse the dishes. I keep the dishes soaked in water and then load them in the dishwasher after throwing away the water. This way any stubborn food particles or grease get softened and cleaning becomes easier and very effective. I follow this method even while doing hand wash, where we scrub the dishes. There is no scrubbing in the dishwasher, so it is difficult to remove stubborn dirt, grime and grease from dishes unless they are soaked. But soaking is required only if you are going to load all the dishes at one go. If you are loading the dishes immediately after use/emptying the contents, then you just need to remove the large food particles, vegetable remnants etc. before loading. If your machine has pre wash option, you can use that option before running the actual programme. I hope I have made myself very clear and answered your query satisfactorily.
      Thank you.

    Hi, I left the salt lid open after refilling in my Voltas Beko dishwasher. The dishes looked foggy and stained. Do I need to drain out the salt compartment given it was left open during a wash cycle? Also could it have done any damage to the machine?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi aayushailawadi, sorry for the delay. You could try the following - Pour at least 2 to 3 litres water into the salt compartment even if the water overflows. This should hopefully remove the rinse aid/detergent that could have got into it. Remember to close the lid this time. You could then place a container normally (not upside down) in the lower rack and run an empty cycle. At the end just observe from the collected water in the container whether soapy, etc. If yes, repeat the above process once more. After that, add at least 1 kg salt in the salt compartment, close the lid. Use the dishwasher normally. Any residual contamination of the salt compartment should go off after a few cycles.
      I am not aware whether your lapse could have caused any damage to the water softener in the dishwasher.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Spanda, I am assuming that the technician did not add salt in your dishwasher. In which case the salt chamber will be dry. If the technician has loaded salt when he came, then he should have put water. Please check that.
      The correct procedure for first time filling is - I am reproducing from the manual -
      1. Open the salt compartment
      2.Fill the compartment with water (only required the first time).
      3. Add dishwasher salt (not necessary till the top). Even about half kg salt is enough. As you add salt, water will get displaced and run out. It is normal.
      4. Close the compartment.
      On the panel, the salt indicator lamp will go OFF. That means salt has been filled adequately. When the salt level goes down, the light will again come ON, then we have to add salt again (without adding any water).
      Hope this is clear. Thank you.

Does the lid opens up automatically after finishing the cycle? Please clarify...

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Latha, congrats on your new dishwasher. Sad that the demo person did not inform you rightly.
      Actually whatever detergent or tablet you put in the detergent compartment, will get used up during the chosen wash cycle.
      Actually once the program starts the lid opens and the tablet falls on the middle portion of the top rack. From there it gets used for washing and cleaning the dishes. So it is very normal that the lid opens up. You don't have to worry about that.

      Hi palanikumar s, I am sure you have measured your water hardness and have set the salt consumption accordingly. Please inform whether you are getting white layer in both long and short cycles. Normally you should not get in short cycles which are at lower temperatures. White layer forms when hard water mixes with detergent at high temperature. Please try using shorter cycles to overcome white layer. In long cycle try adding one tsp of citric acid along with detergent and observe the result. The white layer should reduce or go away. Thank you.

    Does salt essential in beko dishwashers

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on your water hardness levels. The Beko manual online advises the usage of salt. Dishwasher salt is not only used for hard water softening, but it aids in good cleaning and rinsing of dishes. Also it prolongs the life of the dishwasher by not forming scales. Maintaining salt level helps to get optimum performance from the machine giving better cleaning results. I would suggest you use salt, unless of course you use an all-in-one tablet.

    In my area water is too soft so is it necessary to use salt in dishwasher?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi, good question. Dishwasher salt is not only used for hard water softening, but it aids in good cleaning and rinsing of dishes. Also it prolongs the life of the dishwasher by not forming scales. Maintaining salt level helps to get optimum performance from the machine giving better cleaning results. Hence it is advised to maintain a certain level of salt even in areas having soft water.
      First of all you have to get your water hardness tested. Based on which the instructions in your dishwasher manual will help you do the correct salt setting.
      I too have very soft water, but I still add salt in my dishwasher, keeping the minimum salt level setting. I have observed that salt consumption is very less as water in our area is soft.
      I hope I have answered your query satisfactorily.
      Thank you for watching.

    What happens if I run machine without filling rinse aid though the indicator is on

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nikhil, if there is no rinse aid, your dishes will not be dry at the end of the cycle. Also there could be stains or streaks on the dishes depending on the water hardness.
      Using rinse aid is not compulsory. But in case you have hard water, using rinse aid along with salt, will give better cleaning results.
      In case you do not decide to fill rinse aid, you can set it to level zero so that the indicator does not remain ON always.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Wahab, thanks for your query. First of all I would like to tell you that we do not have Hobart dishwashers in India to the best of my knowledge. From what I could gather from their website, looks like they specialise in industrial and commercial dishwashers. I am not clear as to which type of dishwasher you have - residential or commercial.
      Whatever the type of dishwashers, water hardness is an important parameter specified by the manufacturers, to avoid limescale formation.
      The level of water hardness is specified by the manufacturer. You will be able to find this in your user manual. Check if you have a water softener inside the dishwasher or you have your machine connected to a separate water treatment plant. This will help you to find if there is a need for salt to be added separately.
      I would therefore suggest you to contact your local Hobart service personnel for more details in this regard.
      Thanks once again for watching and querying.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arun, hearing the spray arm sound and water dispensing sound is quite normal. In comparison with washing machine which has sound of rotating drum and motor, this sound is very negligible and also you can hear these only when you're in close proximity of the machine.
      What people mean is that you can hardly tell if a dishwasher is running, unless you are nearby.
      Most dishwashers have sound less than 50dB.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, what do you mean by wrong salt? Basically you are not supposed to add any other salt other than the special salt meant for dishwasher which is a pure form of NaCl (sodium chloride).
      By wrong salt if you mean common salt (which have other chemicals added), then that could affect the water softening system andalso the water quality, and in effect the wash quality.
      So it's better to use only dishwasher salt.

      It's news to me La Tui. I wasn't aware of this. May be in the US they want people to use only tablets which have salt and rinse aid along with detergent in them.

      Atul Kumar I can def confirm that newer dishwashers here still don’t have salt compartments. Unless you get into the Miele price range. I do agree though that German manufactured dishwashers are far superior to anything else in terms of cleaning, longevity and efficiency. :)

    I worry what all that salt water dumping into my garbage disposal will do to it. Can't be good, I don't have one with a stainless steel chamber

    If you split salt everywhere, it will cause corrosion

      Hi Roham, thanks for the feedback. I normally use a funnel, but for the purpose of showing in video, I did not use it. Thanks.
