It feels like you guys are a bit complaining about how things are in Saudi while I had to go through a similar experience when I moved to the UK as a Saudi citizen: BRP visa, GP registration, food, housing arrangements, driving license, children school, gas company, electricity company, water company, TV license, road tax, police registration, housing tax exemption as a student, car insurance, opening a bank account (the worst of all), high VAT, and above all, it was so very cold and raining all the time. Bottom line, it is what it is when you go out of your comfort zone; enjoy your stay in Saudi Arabia.
don't forget about there's no Air Conditioning in most of Britain. and the most important of all SAFETY. you can walk as much as you want in Saudi , i dare walking alone in London after the sun sets .
@@RaedAlAhmadi It is absolutely fine walking alone in London after the sun sets. If you think it isn't then you've either not lived there or you're just being overly dramatic.
People are entitled to share their experiences. A new country is a new country for anyone just as you experienced in reverse. He didn’t complain at all
Riyadh atmosphere at the summer will make you melt and Najd region are like this, if you want some cold weather you should go to the southern side of the country, Taif,Al baha,Asir,Al Namas The weather in this places are good.
Just give it a bit of time, and I'm sure you'll end up loving it! Riyadh gets super hot in the summer-seriously, no one spends more than five minutes walking outside. But winter is absolutely amazing, probably the best you'll find anywhere! It's also really safe, so no worries about exploring at night. Make sure to check out places like KAFD, Riyadh Boulevard, and Al Bujairi, and skip the Granada Mall-it's pretty outdated. You're better off at places like Park Avenue, Riyadh Front, Riyadh Park Mall, and Nakheel Mall. There are many malls, but these are not too far from Gurnada Mall.
Anyway, welcome to Riyadh. There are unlimited data SIM cards that cost around $60. Put it in a modem at home. It is in the name of a store owner to whom you transfer money every month. Certainly, Saudi Arabia is more expensive than Indonesia, but the income is supposed to be higher
I enjoyed seeing your new perspectives on life in Riyadh. I'd recommend saving daily trips the city till after sunset. It's quite safe at night and most shops stay open till 12-2 am. You'll find alot of people around the city attractions and it's slightly less hot Ofcourse. Just be respectful of the culture and people here will treat nicely. Good luck with your stay in KSA and I hope your wife and future child be healthy.
Don’t worry the Riyadh weather is amazing except summer time, and please save money for Riyadh season it will start on 12 October 🎉 , this tourist season will last for 6 months.
If you want clod environment and cheap places go to the south west it's raining often and the weather is cooler and it's very beautiful and it's far from the desert, look up the cities there Jeddah and Riyadh is expensive a lot
Why do you have to walk to the security gate for hunger station? We get them to come through right to our doorstep. It's a bit technical when you first arrive but once u sr settled its all good
All the best to you and to your Mrs. Just be mindful of what you criticise in Saudi because that could cost you your job and even a jail time and deportation. Rule of thumb is to avoid criticising government related processes publicly and online but of course you can share helpful information with other expats. Your wife can go to the hospital and use the insurance policy while waiting for the iqama with her passport and the border number.
First of all, I wish you and your family a pleasant and enjoyable stay in Saudi Arabia, and I hope you are blessed with the most beautiful child in the world. Regarding the comparison you made in the middle of the video, forgive me, but it’s the dumbest comparison I've seen and misleading for anyone who watches the video without knowing about Saudi Arabia or having visited it before. When you compared Saudi Arabia with Indonesia, why didn’t you consider the difference in income along with the price difference? The average monthly income in Indonesia is $300, while in Saudi Arabia, it’s $3,000 - that’s 10 times more. So logically, prices should be 10 times higher in Saudi Arabia, yet the price difference is barely double or even less! As for the procedures you mentioned, they are natural for anyone going to work or invest in a different country. It’s only normal that there are some steps you need to follow to be part of the society you’re entering and enjoy all the possible benefits.
Thank you for your message. As for the salaries in Indonesia, yes, the average is much lower, but for us, and quite unusually, we were actually on a higher salary that we are here in Riyadh. The price comparison, which is mainly geared for our colleagues back in jakarta, is therefore applicable.
@@JasonSmartTravel Thank you for your reply. I understand that your specific situation may differ, but it would have been helpful if you had mentioned that in the video. Since you discussed prices and expenses in general, it would have been more balanced to also address the difference in income from a broader perspective. This way, viewers who are unfamiliar with the situation in Saudi Arabia could have a clearer understanding, rather than assuming that the prices are high without considering the overall economic context.
You can’t compare Jakarta to Riyadh, and you need your phone numbers because nearly everything is advanced in Saudi, pretty much everything can be done and requested through your phone

Stifling heat, extortion prices for everything, im always up for travel and adventures but would definitely pass on Saudi Arabia. You guys are my new heroes for taking it all on and I trust it will all go well for you both. May your chosen God be with you.
I went to Jeddah for a few days as a tourist a couple of years ago (two full days is enough to do everything) but it was still pretty cool to see. From memory Jeddah was nowhere near as expensive as what's on the video and the heat is tolerable outside of summer
