I prefer the batwing fairing. I like everything being closer and prefer the looks. I’ve also found the batwing does a better job of keeping my hands and arms dry in the rain.
I saw that conclusion coming from a mile away and still enjoyed the vid. I'm buying the street glide special blacked out for my first bike. New subscriber.
Thanks for watching and I'm happy the video helped you in your decision making process. It's always good to have other perspectives. I look forward to seeing your comments on other videos. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍
Thanks Darth. I very much appreciate your comment and thank you for subscribing to the channel. I look forward to your comments in the future. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👍👊
I don’t know which is better, but as far as used bikes, it’s a lot easier to find a used batwing fairing bike since there are so many of them. When they are parked, the batwing looks better since the fairing turns with the handle bars, so it looks better parked. If you like to do TH-cam videos with a camera on your helmet, the Road King is the way to go, because there is no fairing, and you can see more of the road in the video. When I was looking to buy my used Harley, I was actually looking for a used Road King, but there where few and far between. I ended up getting an Electra Glide, mainly because there where a lot more of them to choose from, and I was able to get a better deal. I never even saw a used Road Glide for sale that was in my price range.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I definitely agree with your point regarding the Road King. I had one at the time that video was made, but I no longer have it. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel, I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Good video Rick! My son has a Road Glide and I have a Street Glide. We both got after market windscreens, him the Klockwurks, me a Memphis Shades. Both make a difference with eliminating wind buffeting. Our other mods other than Custom Dynamics lighting, he has 14” bars and me 12”. When riding each other’s, the only difference I feel is when we stop. That extra 20-25 pounds I can actually feel. But handling, slow maneuvering and highway speeds, the bikes feel identical for both of us. Now the look, of course, you know I have to go with the batwing over the shark. But my son is just the opposite. 😀Keep it safe brother!
The ending is just spot on!!! Nicely don’t bro, great video and I learned a few things for sure!!! One of which, if you strictly go based on the facts, Street Glide wins!!! Three things specifically you mentioned that reinforce my conclusion:1. Weight difference, 26 pounds is not insignificant! 2. More wind coming through on the RG(I have felt this myself when I’ve ridden it) 3. RG nose is ugly! 😂 I agree. I’m sure my conclusions will be debated. And for the record, I love all bikes, especially Harley Davidson 🤙😆
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment and kind words. After sifting through the facts and having real world on bike experience, I don't think I could have concluded any other way. I appreciate your support brother. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👍👊🇺🇸
I’ve owned 7 street glides and 5 road glides! Currently I’m putting together a performance bagger! I have an Road Glide ST! I’m waiting on a 135! I love both bikes! But I think the Road Glide is slightly better! And I actually love the look! It’s more aggressive looking! Don’t get me wrong I love the batwing but! There is a cool factor to the Road Glide!!
I've had the "headlight" talk with guys as well....once you get up to a certain speed....the batwing is essentially a fixed fairing...you can't move it!...I agree 100% on the wind turbulence too!😉👍...great video....stay safe....ride safe!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Thanks so much for watching and for the thoughtful comment. Yes the headlight talk seems to be common. The car apology is the best comparison I could think of when I debate it with my crew. Thanks for your support. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👍👊

Great video! I also own both bikes but before I give you my take on it... The reason why you feel no difference on the highway is because you have no wind protection with those low profile windshields, so you get blasted either way. My RG is much better than the SG when it comes to highway and long distance. My RG is also much heavier with the extra stereo equipment, center stand etc. I also find that the SG maneuvers much easier at slow speeds. Just my two cents brother!
Thanks for your thorough comment. My point on wind may not have been clear. I really don't have any issue with wind on either bike since changing both wind screens away from the stock set up. Thanks for your thorough and thoughtful comment. I appreciate your input and support. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👍👊
There’s a huge difference IMO. Rode both styles thousands of miles and the RG is better, hands down. Still personal preference. I prefer to be more comfortable.
As do I. Both great bikes with both having pros and cons. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. 👊👍🇺🇸
Comes down to personal preference on looks. I like both bikes but... I prefer the inner fairing/cockpit of the street glide. The gauges are easier to view for me on a street glide and I feel closer to the fairing. With that being said I traded in my street bob last month and bought a new 22 Electra glide standard since it has the batwing fairing and it was about 4 grand cheaper than a street glide standard. Love the bike!
I agree Jacob. Congrats on the new bike...the standard is like a blank canvas for your personalization. Thanks for watching and commenting. If you have already subscribed to the channel thank you. If you haven't yet, I'd be honored if you'd consider hitting the subscribe icon. Ride safe and enjoy your ride. 👊👍🇺🇸
Great video, I’ve had the batwing and done a lot of miles on it and would still be if I hadn’t been knocked off it by someone that shouldn’t have been driving and now I’m waiting on a road glide, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it compares
Thanks for sharing that additional historical perspective. I appreciate the comment. If you are a subscriber thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel, I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Ride safe 👍👊

New Subscriber here ✌️ I just traded my Electra Glide in on a CVO Road Glide Ultra which is my first experience with the HD fixed fairing. I agree with everything you said except for the part about wind effects from trucks etc...So far I'm feeling like the RG isn't as effected but it's not a massive difference. Good vid!
They’re basically the same bike Rick. I guess from a matter of opinion it could vary from one person to the next. I did hear that the road glide is much better at high speed due to the ergonomics of the fixed fairing. Great review brother
Some good information, Mike rides a Street Glide and I ride a Road Glide. We have a video comparing the two as well. Although ours is bios lol. But it really comes down to what each individual likes. Tony
Which is better? I have not rode either one, so I have not been able to come to the conclusion of which I like better. Technically neither, it is a subjective statement, and is based on ones own personal preference.
It’s personal choice. After owning both I still feel the Street Glide was easier/lighter to ride for me. The Road Glide is just that… it’s glides at 90mph without any buffeting. Just my opinion 🤘🏽

It’s a tough one. I went in to test ride the RG ST and SG ST thinking I wanted the RG ended up leaving with the SG ST. 🤷♂️

I have not owned either. I have test rode both. The baatwing fairing gave me better wind protection. I like the looks of the batwing better also.
