- KUTV produced this documentary in 1989, featuring interviews from many influential people in Salt Lake City's recent history. In this segment, the adaptive reuse of historic buildings on Pierpont Avenue by artists and restaurants, problems with under-used areas of downtown, ideas for City Creek, and plans for a 100-acre "Central Park" on the West side (probably where the Gateway is now) are mentioned. Featuring interviews with: Salt Lake City Mayor Palmer DePaulis; Gastronomy, Inc. partner John Williams; gallery owner Bonnie Phillips; Artspace founder Stephen Goldsmith; University of Utah College of Architecture+Planning Dean Bob Bliss and professor Peter Atherton; and former Salt Lake City Planner Alan Johnson.
This is an amazing point in time documentary.
