All the world was a dream I couldn't shake - in a midnight reverie of which I'll never wake[i] - that started mundane enough with an incessant tapping on the windowpane separating me from the storm.
Where inside I sat, me the loathsome fool,[ii] with my head cocked sideways in confusion as my looking glass[iii] became a two-way mirror and you can watch me hide from everything on this living sphere. But don't you dare darken my doorstep,[iv] stranger - never a step more. No, no, Nevermore![v] You see, I have this reoccurring dream where we snuck past scores of slumbering guards and fixed that rustic iron key to that lock to set you free. "I would bring you liberty!" Where in reality I'm a coward. I'm collateral matter swayed by banalities of time and space. I'm a name without a face.[vi]
My trepidation reached threshold and my terror turned to madness - when I awoke I was swinging at shrouded silhouettes and stumbled out the door where my anger was extinguished by this downpour. Compelled, void of volition, my steps propelled through this chronic storm, where there in the clearing - throughout the gaps in the trees - dark smoke flickered from fire illuminating my unease. Like clockwork, seven sisters[vii] turned together in a circle, autonomy abandoned, they moved singular and perpetual around a dark blue flame where I heard you call my name: "I am the fire that is never quenched, and I am the river that will not run dry."
When I slept in that garden,[viii] Lord did you see me as I was dreaming?
This is the end of everything. We'll lose our divisions and forget our names:[ix] the precipice of eternity. I caught fire, I caught fire, I caught fire and you'll watch me burn.

I just want to see them play this live so I can yell, "Lord, did you see me as I was dreaming?" This band is so fantastic.
I've seen this live 3 times...it really is amazing. Great new band.
I saw them live this year... And you have no idea... They ended on this song and I got on the crowd, and he was up on the crowd being held up. And I was crowdsurfing literally right beside him during the breakdown. It was probably the best thing I've experienced

This is not just music, this is not just sound. This is something more. There is such passion, beauty in everything these guys do. Silent Planet are trully one of a kind and The Night God Slept is probably one of the best "modern" metal albuns I've ever ever heard.
Keep your eyes open guys, these guys are about to conquer the world.

when the song dropped I lost my shit and accidentally punched a security guard in the neck.

Never, man. Never. They came to Prague and nobody seemed to know the band. And Garrett came down when the final part was to come and like 5 people gathered in a circle and we yelled the lyrics at each other
The thing with Silent Planet is that no other band in this genre sounds like them. I've never heard more passionate metal than this band ever before. This band is truly special and I'm so glad they exist. This is passion. This is true music. If you ever see them live, you will notice the rawness that can be felt at their show. The whole feel of their music live will give you chills.
+ForcedIntoFire Garrett never even wears shoes at a show. He's always barefoot. I asked him after a show a few weeks ago, and he said yep, always. These guys are just the realest dudes ever. So passionate about what they do. It's great stuff.
They're essentially Oh, Sleeper
+0stringking0 no, they're Silent Planet. lol. I don't hesr any resemblence to Oh, Sleeper.
+0stringking0 Micah's screams are a lot more violent in its nature while the unclean vocalist for this band is a lot more passionate than violent. Plus, Micah tends to write extremely dark topics that a lot of people find offensive for a Christian lyricist to write about. I have heard that Christian stores banned Children of Fire when it was released a few years ago, because the main storyline talked about murder, rape and revenge in a world where God did not exist. For whatever reason, it made Christian parents freak out that a Christian lyricist was allowed to write about it instead of songs that solely worshiped their creator. This band tends to write philosophical topics expressed with emotion by the lead vocalist. So no. They're not a copy of Oh, sleeper.

The message, The passion and the technicality these guys bring to modern metal is just refreshing. Just when you think all hope is lost and the era of good music is passed us by. We get Silent Planet. Welcome to the world of spreading gods message with brutal lyrics and instruments! Fuggin, luv it.
Everytime I listen to this song and he says "Lord did you see me as a was dreaming?" I get chills all over my body.
tonight I saw them and garrett jumped down in the crowed. so much passion so intense. it was amazing to share the mic with such a kind soul... you he grabbed me and pulled me in like a brother and stuck the mic in my face and together we screamed at the top of our lungs LORD DID YOU SEE ME AS I WAS DREAMING... hands down the best moment ive ever had at a show. caught up with him after the set too... I swear no more humble and down to earth musician walks this life.
This song brings up so much emotion in me. Especially the Part where he says "When I slept in that garden, Lord did you see me as I was dreaming?" Cause I've know god but fall asleep. What I mean about fall asleep is that I know of my sin and of Christ but tuck him away. I tell people I have everything together and I am a liar. For God asked me why I have been sleeping. And I say I wasn't sleeping.. just waiting on him. When he's already told me what to do. I'm just a coward and don't wanna face my own sin. So... Oh Lord, teach me to see my sin. And remember you've removed all of it.For I've been asleep all along. And Have Been lying to myself and my God.

They played this in Arizona a few years ago, only because the power at the venue went out, and it was one of the most powerful moments I've ever experienced. These dudes are seriously some of the best musicians this planet has ever seen.

This embodies the word "haunting."
The only other band that gives me that feeling of raw beauty and love like silent planet does is a band called For All Eternity. Music is powerful stuff. Hope these guys don't stop writing it.

I think i have bipolar disorder, and this song feels so relatable to me. The fact an artist shares the same problems as you, feels somehow comforting and yet it's like a curse, cause both suffer.

Seeing this song live is something everyone should experience once in their lives. Their whole set was fantastic, but this song in particular stood out.

Recently discovered this band. Wow. So much emotion in their music and their videos are absolutely amazing. This is the kind of music that gets overlooked in the mainstream music industry. So damn good. Hope these guys stay around for a long time.

This is kinda like Architects and Hotel Books combined, wow. Absolutely amazing.
I remember finding this band out listening to the bad christian podcast episode where underoath was talking about getting back together about a year ago. This song hit me like a truck and I knew I would love this band. Fast forward to today and I'm in a moment where my faith is tested and this song gave me hope that God has my back through this. I wanted to know what other bands sound like this because I really need this kind of music in my life.

Silent Planet brings something new to modern metal. These guys are real songwriters, unlike a lot of the bands in this genre. This is what passion sounds like. This is what music is supposed to sound like.

Dang. I've never really been a fan of Silent Planet but this. This is just absolutely perfect. The vocals, the lyrics, the music everything just fits together so perfectly.
