I drive a truck in Sweden underground mining. If I wanna do this in Australia, how can I get a heavy trucking license (or whatever i need for your mines) the fastest way? I saw something online that you need to have a light weight truck license first........seems troublesome.
Hi mate, could you please describe what jobs available at mining for temporary or work and holiday visa holders at mines beside utility works and TAs? Thanks!
Hi sorry for the delay in getting back to you, Jess and I are going to make a video on this tomorrow and will post it this week But yes there are lots of job you can do as a overseas worker, thanks for the question
If i have 1 year experience in maintenance engineering on the CAT mining equipment such as excavators 6040 and 6020b and 785C/D and D10T and 16M but just PM services and some troubleshooting can i find job there?
Sorry Anthony you have to be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia to get a job, the government classes all the crew jobs as unskilled labour, sorry
Yes mate, happens all the time. Everybody wants to be the jumbo operator making $2500 a day Takes a long time to make that sort of money as an engineer
@@AustralianMiningforNewStarters Are we talking about an income of more than 30k for a year? There must be many people who want to be an operator. Can't imagine the shortage of operators.
Good luck I'm a qualified tradie and a rigger with crane tickets and I still have a hard time getting even into a truck driving position. I spoke to a recruiter and she told me she has around 1000 applicants for jobs like that. So they might tell ya theyre screaming for workers but it's all bullshit
😂🤣😂 you know the video is 2 years old? It sounds like you need to work on your pitch mate The latest video is all about getting your 2-minute pitch right, but everything you've done is for shutdown work not production mining. So if you come at the recruiter with that sort of stuff, of course they're going to tell you to go away. Got to give them what they want if you want a job in the production mining side of things And that's somebody that knows how their mine works The employers are only interested in what you can give them right now and if they've got to spend 2 to 3 months training you they're not interested in that. Have a look at the videos. There's lots of information in there, the latest ones
Hi Suryansh It's not an easy question to answer with the different visa's, as all the crew jobs we help people into are classed as unskilled labour by the government, this has always meant citizens or permanent resident only You will have to approach each of the employers as to see how your visa affects this I'm sorry I don't have better information, but a lot of the employers are really cut and dry when it comes to this and employing people. Sorry
What kind of entry level jobs can one get in mining industry with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering? Do they hire temporary visa holders with full working rights?
Sorry mate, for all the crew jobs the employers have to use Australian citizens or permanent residents If you have a degree you can get an employer to sponsor you but there aren't many electrical engineering jobs on site, sorry

I have completed Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering and also have Indian government validated certificate of Assistant Manager in Underground Mine. After doing Masters in Mining Engineering in Australia, how easily I can get a job and PR. What is the process for applying job there????
You can’t do it offshore unless you are highly experienced and the company you are working in India is also present in Australia. So, try applying for such companies in India.
I have done mechanical engg. I will sure look into the mining sector and start from scratch!
