    I’m late to this video but the 5VZFE has a 14mm drain plug for the cylinder heads on the passenger side of the block. It’s easy to access from the wheel well with long extensions. Draining it after each round of flushing will reduce the total number of rounds you need to do and give a more complete flush. Also a coolant flush gun like the OTC one is great. Power flush with gun and hose (thermostat removed), couple rounds of distilled then drain and fill 👍🏼 Truck looks great, thanks for making content!

    If you want a more aggressive wheel on the 4runner you should run 285's on an 8 wide wheel in my opinion. If you ever go offroading it protects the wheel and you can air down without losing the bead. If you want to do the tundra brake upgrade down the line, you may want to consider getting 17s. I found that brake upgrade to be the best mod I ever did to my 4runner.

    In Australia having your tyres wider then the flares your vehicle get defected and fines like crazy. However big fan of the wider agressive tyres. Love all your trucks all the way from Australia

    I know you didn’t mention it but also have the heater switch over to hot so the coolant flushers out of the heater core!
    And just for good practice if I do a full flush and rad change I also change the thermostat with an original part, but you most likely already have changed it earlier,

    I did a Volvo electric fan, eBay aluminum shroud and Delta Current Controller to my 3.slow and love it. Less vibration on the power train and you don’t have to hear the fan always running. It’d be neat to see you upgrade the green truck or the runner. 👍🏼

    Look at 255/85R16. Tall skinny’s look wicked on these 4runners! Basically taller than a 285 but narrower. Will reduce rubbing on lock as well.

    If you dont have any record of when the Lower Ball Joints were changed I say do that next before anything else. Even without any play on the lbj itself the 4 bolts that holds it are known to break as well. Looking good so far! Looking forward seeing it with a lift, wheels and tires!

    Check out SCS wheels you can get a 16x8 wheel but with 3.5" back spacing! Giving you that wheel poke you want but on a narrower wheel! Plus they are made specifically for Toyota's

    Most people recommend 285/70/16s those are 33 inches tall. Stock is 265/70/16, those are roughly 31 inches. Anything over a 35, and you should regear. Personally I recommend 255/85/16, they are .5 inches narrower than stock but they are a true 33inch whereas 285s are like 32.8. 285s will likely rub and you will need to do some massaging and might even need aftermarket upper control arms. They will also kill MPGs. 255s will fit great and either won’t rub at all on a three inch lift or they will just barely nick the uca, even then, after they wear down, they’ll stop rubbing if they even did in the first place, but the biggest plus is they won’t kill mpgs which is great if your wife daily’s it. You will barely even notice them. With the fender flares you have, I’d run 1 inch spacers on the 255 unless you can get an accommodating offset wheel. Just my .2¢

    So, the 3.4 uses those dual electrode plugs because of the wasted spark ignition on those engines. The normal, single electrode, plug will wear twice as fast in one of those engines. That's why those plugs looked like that.

    Complete tune up? I didn't see any coil boots being changed. I actually liked the look of it with the big tire on there with no lift. Made it look like an icelandic snow rig.

    Basically all coolant is the same formulation. The colors they use are just dyes, Green, Blue, Clear, Orange is all the same. Some have bitters in them so children and animals don't drink it. Watch my video on coolants lol

    Thank you for your videos, they have help me a lot. I changed the thermostat and radiator, but before I did that I flush the system about 4 times.I have only one issue temperature gauge in dashboard is good but after running it gauge stays a little under halfway but radiator hoses don’t have any pressure. What do you think it might be the issue on not having pressure on hoses?

    Man, you wanna do a complete flush you say? Never fully possible without taking the block drain plugs out for the collant. I performed 10 flushes on my 22rte and even after that, when I took out the block coolant plugs, it was still green like brand new 50/50. Even tho my radiator only drained straight water for the past 6 flushes

    • @ItsJoshN
      @ItsJoshN 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I was gunna maybe mention that. When I did my bmw, I had to pull my block plug to get the rest of the green out and used water to flush it while the plug was out.

    • @austinniemela
      @austinniemela  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4 flushes with water and running it up to temp gets 90+% of the old coolant out
