My daughter lives in Montana, Big Sky area . We love it there but it gets really cold for a long season . We enjoyed your video and have been RVing 3 years full time . Our 26 ft. TT is plenty enough for the 2 of us . Hope to see you on the road . Our trailer name is FOOL TYMER,S .
Thanks for watching! We love the name of your camper. If you have not subscribed to our channel ... we invite you too!
You gave people things to ponder ! I went straight to a great location and a tiny home . That was 22 years ago. You guys are work campers . That is a bit different than just constantly moving every day or week. I’ve seen over the years many trying to get small home bases. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Alec !😁
We look at tiny homes all the time. We will eventually slow down and get one. What brand did you get?
@@SHARINGJOURNEY
We actually bought land on a lake in 1999 . We built a small stilt home on concrete piling . It’s only 620 sq ft . We are able to park underneath. It’s almost one acre under live oaks . I built a cover for my little Casita RV . Very happy with our choice years ago not to go full time RVing. No matter what anyone does . It’s a personal choice for everyone. 😁👍
@ralphp3057 it sounds absolutely beautiful ... thanks for sharing
Everybody isn't leaving. I'm not leaving...and after 3 years full time truck camping I don't have any plans to stop. I have two sticks and bricks being rented out and maybe when I get tired of traveling the country biking, hiking and skiing...I'll end up at one of them. But I'm not leaving...not yet.
That is awesome ... we hope to see you down the road.
YES👌
@raymondray8672 👍
My biggest reason not to full time is family. We love to be by family. We have a small house by my daughters . Grandchildren are the biggest reason to consider. You will never regret spending time with them. We also winter in AZ . But go home every 6-8 weeks or so. Also a consideration that having a payment on a depreciating asset like an RV verses an appreciating like a house will greatly affect your financial stability.
Thanks for sharing!! We do love spending time with our family too!
You don't have an asset at all while renting, which is what most folks do
Houses are being bought up by wall street in the name of profit,
And the price has gotten out of hand
I don't think owning a home is the American dream anymore
Lots of folks get a travel trailer to chase high paying work, of which there income will out pace appreciation on a home
At least in my opinion
I hope the housing bubble pops soon and life ain't gotta be like this
@finismartin7626 I think you make some valid points. We hope to invest in some land in the next year or so.
i concur with alot you have touched on, our plan is i will finish NRVTA certification end of june 2025, i have already started my mobile rv repair business but will be full time upon
getting all my certifications and work in PA till november then head to sarasota florida till april then back to our sticks and bricks for the summer, my wife works remote and i will be mobile rv tech but my point is i think the 5 to 6 months living out of the motorhome will be just enough time for us that we will not get tired of it, plus being back home for the summer we will get to enjoy our grandkids and see the rest of our families, kinda of a win win for us.....thanks for the video
Awesome. We have a couple here in the campground that his wife works in the office and he is a full-time RV tech. He loves it but finds it hard to compete with the local established RV techs, but he seems to get enough work. Most of the work campers refer him.

Alec thanks for worrying about me. As you know - I am fine. Unfortunately I do end up doing some crazy things! The last one, the one you refer to, was not one of my finer moments. I had a bottle of Caster oil and I dropped it on our tile floor. It broke and I tried to clean it up without calling for your dad to come help. Unfortunately I slipped on the oil and my face hit the tile floor -omg-that really hurt. I was fortunate to come out of it with only facial lacerations, an Orbital fracture to my left eye to include lacerations to my left eyelid. I had a dilly of a black eye but it’s almost back to normal! I need to be more careful! But, unfortunately when I am in the moment, I forget I am not 15 years old . I keep learning that same lesson over and over again--I believe I might have learned it this time.. Moral of this story : don’t carry around Caster Oil on a tile floor and don’t be too proud to ask for help if you need it. You might think you are 15 but “gurl” you are NOT! Love you both, Mom
@user-lb5um5cg9g Love you too mom!
Good morning Alec/Cindy. We always find your videos so informative and entertaining. This one does hit on several notes especially now that we in the cusp of retiring and hitting the road ( not FT though), lots to keep in mind. We wanna wish you both nothing but the best on your quest eastward. Safe travels 🤙🏽
Thanks, and good luck with your retirement.
Im on the road right now. Kids in school, koa pool is open. Free swim!
Got to love a free pool!
Were you at Big Chief while Alan Warren was the owner? If so, how was it working for him?👍🏼😎
I was there while Alan owned it. It was a lovely area ... we meet some really nice people while we were there.
I have not begun going full time we have our 90 year old mom we take care of
We had to wait a while also ... Cindy's mom spent her last 8.5 years living with us.
Why talk about the downside of everything. Why not dwell on the good times together. We have been trying to get started full time the past 10 years. And just as we think we're getting ahead something happens. But We are not going to let it stop us. If we ever get this camper working and the house sold, we're out if here and not looking back. I can hardly wait until we can start.
Thursday video is why people choose to full time rv. This video was made because a number of our friends have gotten off the road. I tried to keep it upbeat as far as what Cindy and I plan on doing.
Alec another excellent video! For us, we opted to wait until retirement to go fulltime....BUT we are really only semi retired as we are workampers like you and Cindy. We were weekend campers before fulltime and we did a LOT of research and homework before opting to go fulltime. This lifestyle is not for everyone for sure. We are 72 (me)70 (him) and we know one day we will need to come off the road. I feel blessed that I was raised to be independent. We schedule family time once a year and we even gave up one entire summer of 2022 for family time. IMO if folks do their homework this life is very doable. Sometimes our expectations are what are our biggest disappointments. I think you have a great idea doing these videos while getting your steps in, you are providing a great service and burning calories!
Thanks for all the kind words .... Cindy does not ever want to come off the road. We had a rough start to full-timing. I did not do enough homework and then Covid hit during our first year. We have learned a lot and enjoy the road.
@@SHARINGJOURNEY we have been fulltime now for 8 years. We are on our 9th workamping gig. We still do not know where we want to settle that is for sure. We own an RV lot in a 55+ community in Florida but we do not ever see ourselves living in Florida again for a lot of reasons. We rent out the spot and we are blessed with fabulous tenants. While I would love to visit Yellowstone we have found that we prefer the Black Hills of SD for workamping for the reasons you stated....EXPENSIVE area EXPENSIVE groceries. We signed up for Crowd Cow when Covid hit and we could NEVER go back to buying meat, chix, pork or seafood in a grocery store again. They deliver to where ever we are and it is locally sourced farms and just amazing. When you put a price tag on your time to travel to the store and back and the mileage and wear and tear on your vehicle it adds up. We also do grocery pu as it saves a lot of impulse buying and I no longer enjoy shopping in any store! I had a total knee replacement winter 2022, hip replacement is a much easier recovery than TKR Cindy will do well providing she follows doctors directions and does her PT which is probably the most important part of recovery. Travel safe and keep up the good work!
@susananderson618 so much good information. Cindy is glad to be getting her hip done. However she will be staying with her best friend to recover ... it will take time getting use to ... we are always together.
We are thinking about a private RV lot ...
@@SHARINGJOURNEY do you homework especially if an HOA is involved...those tend to be soap opera cities and nightmarish money pits that you have very little control over.
@susananderson618 we have also thought about a piece of land in Tyler TX
159 bucks a night!! 1500 hundred a week .. min.
It's crazy how expensive it has gotten
Good morning. That was so very interesting and thank you for putting the thought and time into the preparation. GODSPEED
I am glad you enjoyed the video.
175-180 a night 😕 that’s gonna be a hard no.
We won’t stay on the road forever once we hit the road. Most people can’t. Just not realistic.
I could not afford it
Y'all appear to have a wonderful life! New sub!
*Everything is temporary, & everything requires effort.*
Thanks for subscribing ... and yes we love our lifestyle
Good points, Alec. 👍
Thanks
. ? What about the channels that use. A it’s. Become a nope rope. ! A camp ground has to pay 1500 hundred a week ..
Sorry ... I am not sure what your comment means.
Crazy. !
Thanks for watching
good video
Thank you!
Have you ran into the 10yr rule alot work camping? Looking at getting into it and buying a rv but wondering about the KOA rules or just any campground from your experience. Thanks
Yes I have ... but we have found that campgrounds that have the 10 yr rule, for the most part, will let you submit a photo of your camper and as long as you have kept it up they will allow it.
@SHARINGJOURNEY Thanks for that..thanks for all the videos as well..Hopefully see you are next season. Lol
@Kevin-midmichigan that would be awesome
You talk about RV problems like stuff that have to be fix
When you have a sticks and brick you also have to have it fix too a car is the same thing
All it is have a home on
Wheels
That is true ... but people, for some reason, don't understand that RVs take maintenance too ... and because it is a home one wheels you have to always find a new place to get parts or service people. At home, you usually have a list of repair people you always use. This just ads another step in the process.
You make very informative videos. Have a great week. ❤
@@MzVicky Thanks
Because RV's are junk?
Well not all of them ... but a lot of them are.
