I’m 58 yrs old and I start my prerequisite tomorrow. 01/09/24. I’m a mom of 5 adult children and a wonderful husband. They are all in my team. Thanks for your support and encouragement. GOD BLESS
I have been a nurse for 42 years now and I am soooooo happy and thrilled that people of any age are coming and gonna be great at it - glad to have you ladies and gents
oh wow! That's awesome. I'm encouraged. I'm about to begin prerequisites and hope to start Nursing School in 2023. I'll be 49. So encouraging to hear of the many mature students. 🙂
I am 50 and going back to nursing school. I am not even the oldest in my class. There's a 69 year old man I'm attending with. The nursing community needs us. You go get your dreams.
I’m 50 and graduated from a LPN program November 2022. It wasn’t easy by a long shot, but I made it through graduating at the top of my class. I will be bridging to the rn program in December 2023. You’re right “you can do it”. Congratulations to you on your accomplishments !!
Thank you very much. This is really for me. I'd be 57 in five month's time and planning to apply for a pre-reg Nursing. I have a Master's degree but nothing else has given me fulfilment as I'd love to care for people. Self-actualisation as in Maslow's Theory, I'd say... I pray my dream comes true. That would be my second chance in life, especially with this programme. God bless you for the inspiration!
I’m about to be 54 this year. I graduated nursing school 2 years ago. It was very hard but the journey was worth it. My story is similar to yours almost identical. I was the oldest in the class
I’m 37 and I’m getting ready to go back to school to start my prerequisites for nursing school. I’m a long haul trucker currently and have been for 11 years and I have always wanted to be a nurse. Thank you for this video so encouraging
Smiling from ear to ear while watching this video. Not only your commitment and drive, but to see the support of your daughter - that is a beautiful thing. The relationship you all share and the way you support and bolster one another through your journeys is something to marvel at. Thank you for sharing your journeys and wisdom with us!
This video is for me!! I'm 39 and I'm starting Nursing school in September this year. I was feeling scared but waooo after watching this I am ready already.
I am 22 ,still in university studying Physics 300level ,I want to study nursing science in 2025 immediately after finishing this my first degree in 2025. Though am scared cause I will be 24 years by then
I can relate so much to your experience. I’m in my 50s and currently in my final year of nursing school. I am the oldest in my cohort and felt the same way you did about “all the younger, brilliant, smart” students in my class that eventually dropped out or did not make it. You learn very quickly to accept 75% is good on some exams and that it’s not all about getting A’s anymore. It’s really about making sure you can truly understand and apply what you learn. Also agree that clinicals are not as scary as we have been told. Bottom line is - Believe in yourself and trust that God will help you get through it. Thank you so much for inspiring and encouraging older students. You are amazing! 🙏😊
Very inspiring wonderful ladies: Congratulations! just finished Nursing School at 49 and passed my NCLEX and I amabout to start my first job in ICU at 50.I have 6 children too. My younger classmates were wonderful with me. I am terrified but excited. I think with God's help we mature students/nurses very determined...we can all do it with God's help .
This is so inspiring & motivating. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. I started my healthcare career in 2015 as a Certified Medical Assistant and now have decided to go further. I am now in Nursing school.and by His grace will be completing my program by the age of 53. I wish you God's best in your nursing career and God bless you beloved daughter for supporting your beautiful mom. Shalom
I will be 50 in three months and have 10 months left in graduate school. It is tough because I have a debilitating health condition that challenges me daily, but I still managed to get all A's so far. I completed the LPN program in 1997 and received a bachelor's degree in 2004. I have been out of school since that time, so graduate school is a challenge, but I'm resilient and will see it through. If I can do it, I feel like others can as well.
Amazing!! Im a 52 year old Respiratory Therapist looking at gaining an LPN to open up my scope and employment opportunities Congrats 👏 I can tell that you're a brilliant lady 🔥🙏✝️
Amen Thank you to your mom I am finished all prerequisites, passed the TEAS and waiting for my seat for this Fall. This is my second career. My first is I have been a funeral director for 17 years. I am so ready for a change at the age of 45. Your mom is so encouraging. ❤

Congrats👏👏👏! Same experience here. Went back to school at 39 years old and I was 1 of the oldest ones. Started my technical school programme in Nursing for 2 years then continued my studies to the tertiary level for another 2.5 years. Again I was the oldest in the class. Graduated last year march. Feeling of satisfaction that I went through nursing school and acquired my diploma in Nursing at 44 years old. ☺️ So I ya, I agreed 💯% that age is just a number,. 😊
I LOVE YOU AND YOUR MUM TOO MUCH, very wise, funny and understanding many thanks for taking your time to encourage and support us..God almighty will continue to bless you, your family and career In Jesus’s name Amen ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good for you for going back!!! 🎉🎉🎉 This is inspiring, Im about to be 42, i used to be a med tech EMT and in Public Health in the military doing alot of nursing duties, i have a BA in Sociology and a Master's in Information Technology Management but now thinking about going back to school to get my RN. Ive been trying to get a good paying job and it has sucked by not getting a good paying job yet... I live in ATL and because ive been in the military i can go to school and get $2200 per month. Im leaning on the side of going back to get my RN, but i just feel like i waisted so much time getting other degrees in the past😢
