+Jonathan McConico The inner support can have a small amount of wiggle room. We have found that before securing the last side it is best to secure the brace with two screws. We would advise to pre-drill holes for the two screws that will secure the brace. Let us know if you have any more questions.

+dlroto You may use glue, however we have found that it is not necessary. If you would like to use glue it won't hurt the cube either.
the piece with four tongues will be weak. bad cut design.
