Very interesting, I also tried a low-cost adapter with DDR3 in an AMD PC and I got mixed results: some work fine, some crash and some are unstable under high load. Probably a latency issue with these risers/adapters. Video: th-cam.com/video/ibKTcKY4aww/w-d-xo.html

Anime Zone Not in this project. My desktop takes DDR3. But I have a MacBook that takes DDR2, a hackintosh server that takes DDR2, and 2 powerpc’s that take DDR.

Anime Zone it’s not like I can upgrade the DIMM slots. I don’t really have a choice.

Enz at this point, I’m not sure if I’m keeping my gaming rig. I’d rather have an Xbox one or ps4. But, if I decide to keep it, I’ll probably go with Mac compatible parts and make a hackintosh pro.

When you place the laptop-to-desktop ram adapter into the motherboard, the socket of the adapter appears to protrude over the ram slot in front of it, making it appear to be difficult or impossible to put another RAM in that slot. Does this mean that you cannot have two of these adapters directly adjacent to each other in your motherboard?
My motherboard has 4 ram slots and I was thinking of using 4 adapters, but I was concerned about whether the size of the socket may prevent me from doing this.
NOBODY It should fit, I won’t say it’ll fit for every motherboard out there because obviously some are spaced differently. However, if you’re using two of these adapters, I recommend insulating with a piece of electrical tape on the back of one. Especially if they touch. The last thing you want is to zap your motherboard 😂

I wonder, imagine if you already had desktop ram in your pc, but aren't happy with how much ram you have but all you have in hand is laptop ram of the same DDR model, what would you think would happen if you used them both in the same system with that kind of adapter, is there any possible way of it working?
Ayman Abid yeah. Dude I use a 4 gig DDR3 desktop stick, a 1 gig DDR3 desktop stick and a 4 gig laptop stick at the same time cause it’s all I currently can afford.

ArskaB73 it all came back to this piece of logic in my mind: "do I try a $4 adapter from China for a 4 gig stick I already have, or do I spend $30 on a 4 gig stick from eBay?" I'm glad I chose the first one. Good luck with your projects!

Have u tried using DDR4 so-dimm with the JET-5608AK on desktop? i haven't seen anyone using those yet.

i think that you are asking if you can use your DDR4 RAM; from your laptop. to connect your DDR4 with our Jet-5608AK adapter so you could use it in your motherboard inside your desktop..
unfortunately the answer is NO; because our adapter is use only for testing.
It would fit in your motherboard but your motherboard wouldn't recognize it.

Christian Kneupper If they say no, it probably means no. It's funny they use this for testing. It's a really good way to adapt laptop for desktop with no lag or issues. I'm still using it daily and haven't had a problem
