Thank you. I just started with oil painting and found myself very confused on how to clean and retain my brushes.

Thank you! I recently decided to start painting and wanted to make sure I knew how to clean the brushes correctly before I actually started painting.

Why deal with the smell? Wash with dawn dish detergent. Works great and does not damage your brushes. Been doing it for years

Great video and instructions. I was trying to get the pigment out of my brush with solvent and ending up with stained bristles that tinted everything with a muddiness, so I went looking on here for someone like you! :)

Turpentine, dish washing liquid, then water. Works fine :)

Ooooh, methinks I beheld the intense red of the glorious Blick Master Sable, no? I'm going to guess size 10 filbert. Probably totally wrong though. I came across a few myself, including 3 filberts and one size 20 round, brand new. I haven't been able to bring myself to use them yet though.

i use liquin mixed with my linseed and my problem is it doesn't seem to work with thinner when i wash it so i really hope this will work. I used to use laundry powder but a friend said its harsh for the bristles so I stopped using that i havent tried dishwashing liquid tho so im super glad to stumbled upon this vid :)

I’ve always been told that using soap and water will destroy natural bristle brushes. Is this not the case?
