Kyle began the mess with Tumi and Natasha during their Visa issues. Natasha is WAY too defensive and so Tumi's standoffish demeanor was enough to set her insecurities off. Natasha's overreactions made it worse. Kyle seems pressed in a different way than last charter in general. I wonder what was going on with him? Did he come back only for the money? Did he resent being there? Whatever the reason was he is no longer any fun to watch. Why does a formerly bullied man feel its okay to scream and demean others so easily? As for Tumi. . . She really isn't as professional as she thinks. She joined in the gossip with a direct report, laughed and mugged and so approved of bad behavior and seemed very immature. Her defensiveness was also tough to watch. Not a fan.

You seem to have forgotten that Tumi boarded the boat with preconceived ideas of Natalia, fed to her by Kyle before they got there. Tumi was unprofessional and in the wrong, not only to listen to it, but also to act on it. Kyle is lazy and Natalia pulls him up on it. Tumi is in over her head, and as nice as Jessica is, she just seems to blow whichever way the wind blows, she’s a follower, and too meek to speak her own mind, so just goes with the flow. Had Tumi stopped Kyles toxic cesspool of information from the start, none of this would have happened. I’m not saying Natalia is blameless, but when you’re defending yourself from a bully from the beginning, as well as having to take up said bully’s slack, you have a right to be angry. He was horrific this season even more than last season. Master gaslighter and never takes accountability- then breaks down to make himself the victim. Like in season 7 when he “fell” I didn’t believe that for one sec. That was so dramatic. I’m glad he got called Out by cap sandy. He needed it.when he attacked Jess I was shocked at how he had that blow up. She just expressed her feelings. “Oh it really hurt me” please. He was the worst on this season.
The other thing is his little dramatic breakdown. It was emotional not physical. It’s all for attention. I had a best friend for 25 years that made everything about himself and had these moments at least once a year. They were exhausting.

But her race has nothing to do with the fact that she had gossiped with her subordinate before getting on the boat and kept doing so until she started to see the cracks form when he was drinking. I think if she was given less contentious stews to manage she would have done a lot better, but she was given 2 of the most egotistical stews we've seen, on her first ever try as a chief stew. She had one shot and she immediately lost it the moment she gossiped with vile about Nat. Nat was excited to have Vile on... She was gassing him up to the other and then.... He and Tumi came on and within 24hrs shit went to hell in a handbasket. Not because Tumi is black. Because Tumi needs more management training. Note her reaction to Nat leaving... She laughed and said everything will be fine when they haven't had one good charter yet as interior, they were just able to hide the chaos

Kyle began the mess with Tumi and Natasha during their Visa issues. Natasha is WAY too defensive and so Tumi's standoffish demeanor was enough to set her insecurities off. Natasha's overreactions made it worse.
Kyle seems pressed in a different way than last charter in general. I wonder what was going on with him? Did he come back only for the money? Did he resent being there?
Whatever the reason was he is no longer any fun to watch. Why does a formerly bullied man feel its okay to scream and demean others so easily?
As for Tumi. . . She really isn't as professional as she thinks. She joined in the gossip with a direct report, laughed and mugged and so approved of bad behavior and seemed very immature. Her defensiveness was also tough to watch.

You seem to have forgotten that Tumi boarded the boat with preconceived ideas of Natalia, fed to her by Kyle before they got there. Tumi was unprofessional and in the wrong, not only to listen to it, but also to act on it. Kyle is lazy and Natalia pulls him up on it. Tumi is in over her head, and as nice as Jessica is, she just seems to blow whichever way the wind blows, she’s a follower, and too meek to speak her own mind, so just goes with the flow.
Had Tumi stopped Kyles toxic cesspool of information from the start, none of this would have happened. I’m not saying Natalia is blameless, but when you’re defending yourself from a bully from the beginning, as well as having to take up said bully’s slack, you have a right to be angry.
Tumi has no ability to deal with staff, if she had she would have nipped all of this in the bud, with a staff meeting to air any grievances and discuss them. She’s weak and petty and almost as toxic as Kyle, considering the enjoyment she clearly gets from seeing one of her team being demonised. You really can’t get much more unprofessional than that.

He was horrific this season even more than last season. Master gaslighter and never takes accountability- then breaks down to make himself the victim. Like in season 7 when he “fell” I didn’t believe that for one sec. That was so dramatic. I’m glad he got called

The other thing is his little dramatic breakdown. It was emotional not physical. It’s all for attention. I had a best friend for 25 years that made everything about himself and had these moments at least once a year. They were exhausting.

I will agree Tumi has a lot on her shoulders when it comes to representation and the like for PoC and showing that PoC are a vital and fundamental part of this life style, she's an amazing stew, she is. This situation tho, needed someone like Kate. And not cos Kate is white. Because Kate has the skill set.
Tumi has come into a boat with not one, but 2 people who've been chief before her and have more experience. And 2 of the most problematic stews we have really seen when it comes to interpersonal conflict. Maybe she wasn't given a fair shot as a whole.
But her race has nothing to do with the fact that she had gossiped with her subordinate before getting on the boat and kept doing so until she started to see the cracks form when he was drinking.
I think if she was given less contentious stews to manage she would have done a lot better, but she was given 2 of the most egotistical stews we've seen, on her first ever try as a chief stew. She had one shot and she immediately lost it the moment she gossiped with vile about Nat.
Nat was excited to have Vile on... She was gassing him up to the other and then.... He and Tumi came on and within 24hrs shit went to hell in a handbasket.

I do think Kyle was wrong for how he spoke to Natalya, but she is the common denominator of most of the trouble (not Kyle). Natalya was the one who was screaming and waving her arms at people. She disrespected just about everyone.
Sandy does not seem to be a good judge of character*; she completely missed the boat on who Natalya apparently really is. I see Natalya as a master manipulator (e.g., calling Sandy her 'boat mom' while shedding crocodile tears.)
Natalya's real problem (other than not wanting to stand down when Tumi arrived) was her 'open relationship'; she wanted to leave because her 'boyfriend' was sleeping with other women, but she decided to first wreck the boat crew's relationships in her wake. Like I said, she looks like a master manipulator (who met her match in Kyle) to me.
*Also of note is Sandy 'kissing up' to the guy from France who, from what I have seen, does absolutely little to no work (thereby making the other deck crew have to pick up his slack.)
Funny how Nat had a problem when Tash was dealing with her relationship drama but now we see Nat is dealing with her relationship drama 😂. If Kyle is getting heat for being a common denominator then she should take responsibility for that too because she’s a problem as well. Natalia was also in a weird relationship and compared to season 7 she was not getting the emotional reactions from the crew that she so desperately craved.
