This is gold. I'm an armwrestler for Sparta. it's a very good team here in brazil. We got top 2 in the country last year. just above Wagner Bortolato's team (It was close haha). This channel really helps me a lot. i hope to visit both of you in the future... Thanks!!!
ive noticed the opposite a hook and drag is a great counter to a posting toproll. i call it tall tree fall hard. if my riser is set up properly, landing your cup takes almost zero wrist flexion you basically get it for free and its set up exactly how you guys hook and drive but because i grabbed so high in the hand on set up its very natural to drag back over the pin line and pronate through. once i hit into a comfortable position my hand is almost in a sideways low hand top roll then the back pressure is applied.
Derek Smith says hook is actually more technical or nuanced than toproll. I wouldn't know though. The only hook I have is an old school Dave Chaffee style outside drag hook, and I'm only competent with it on my left. Toproll is a lot easier for me with my build and biomechanics.
April 15th is the Dixie strong arm comp. Never had anything like this around here so of course I'm going to try, what would be the best thing to do starting out... hook or toproll
Could you explain the roll of wrist flexion in a toproll a little more? i understand the main hand movements are rising and pronation. Is wrist flexion used for containment?
Yes. Containment, and can be used to finish a toproll. Once you win rise and maintain pronation, if you cup hard while you follow through on your toproll it will gain you more leverage as you finish
14:32 This explanation is exactly what I did in this supermatch: th-cam.com/video/0BENcEjbd6Q/w-d-xo.html (Im Alexander) I just never learnt it how it was explained here I love how the video explains everything, its all taught like rock paper scissors, this type of top-roll/hook beats this style and this style beats this other one. Amazing instructional video thanks for the great work!

... Toproll Smart!
For the algorithm, about to start the episode!
Thankyou guys
Indeed it is complex. Alot of motions to apply fluently . Got alot of work in on my toproll with Luis last practice. So much more work to do on it.
Good evening boys hope all is well today and thank you for sharing your videos

Rise and Pronation… lots of rise and pronation.
@@tablemonkeys5262 unclear information, i ate so much rice that my stomach pronated the rice all over my oponent, still won tho.
