  • In this video we intro a new series: The Triad of Arm Wrestling Techniques. This triad consists of the post, the hook and the low hand top roll! These moves are so fundamental to arm wrestling! You have gotta learn and master them! These moves are so important because they all interact with eachother, meaning they counter eachother. In future videos we will go in depth on how to use these moves, why they work well against certain moves and where they lead you on the hill! Let us know what you think!

    This is exactly the type of content I’ve been scouring the internet for since I started arm wrestling - and the element of the sport that doesn’t come particularly intuitively to me. Such a great channel.

  • @FROZMASTER7
    @FROZMASTER7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome this will really help. I was doing ready gos with a guy and he was destroying me I didn’t understand as I was able to beat him in practice pulls, now I have come to realise its was him denying my top roll through his engaged hook. Thanks for the teaching now I will show him who’s boss.

  • @armwrestling_nerd
    @armwrestling_nerd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why John is versatile is NOT only in "moves", he most often grips up in a way that he has multiple options right there and then. He can make adaption on his setup if his multiple options isn't good enough to get advantage on the opponent. The technique should be dictated from the feel of the grip and the resistance you get.

    Love the content gents. I honestly believe that the Lowhand is probably the most technically challenging of all the moves on the hill. It just seems like you need the most hand and arm strength at the same time to pull it off reliably and consistently.

    That was one of the best videos I've seen... amazing work guys!
    My low hand toproll always gives my friend's toproll a hard time, why is that? How does that work? I would love if you can explain the dynamics between these two moves!

    • @tablemonkeys5262
      @tablemonkeys5262  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your cup beats his rise/pronation then that would make a lot of sense! Strength is still the #1 factor!

    • @001FJ
      @001FJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tablemonkeys5262 That makes sense since I've been working out my cup a lot with the multispinner!

  • @ehoc42
    @ehoc42 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like how you break down a hook, low hand, and post as like rock, paper, scissors. I’m not sure this works as well in the straps. Low handers have a lot more access to drag in the straps than posting top rollers do, and the posters ability to rise is limited. It might make low handing ideal in the strap against a poster if the low hander’s cup and finger strength is strong.

    • @tablemonkeys5262
      @tablemonkeys5262  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For posting vs low hand the levers make a big difference in the outcome, but if they are close the posting TR will have an advantage over the low hand both in the strap and out of the strap. The strap also makes it a lot easier for the hook puller to turn in a low hand. The strap will change things a bit, but the concepts still apply..

  • @ehoc42

    Great video guys. As a separate thought I would love it if you could somehow convince Devon to do a full body weightlifting program in the lead up to Levan. He would have a lot easier time healthily gaining weight, and could sure use that extra upper body strength to pin Levan.

    • @tablemonkeys5262
      @tablemonkeys5262  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha man that’s impossible. It might help, it might not. Personally I’m not sure, but one thing I am sure of is that it ain’t happening!

    Great video. I think I might disagree slightly on the goal of the low hand toproll. To me, the low hand toproll attacks the pinky side of the fingers and wrist. If you can go straight through the hand, you’re not in the same strength realm.

    Is posting toproll really a good counter to low hand top roll? I feel the opposite cuz my back muscle dragging strength (for low hand) is far better than my biceps and brachioradialis (for posting), and I think this is the case for most ppl.

    Can you guys talk about John Braznk pointer finger slightly under thumb and middle finger slightly on top of thumb grip? No one talks about it but its really strong against stopping any top roll. No one uses this grip but it’s so over powered if you have strong fingers.

    • @tablemonkeys5262
